So when they are gone there are memories…but there is also a vast sorrow.

So beautiful said -- some of you here have such an amazing way with words.

Green with envy 😉.

BTW, the only time we had a cat / pet, it was an exact copy of Menise -- black, with just a white spot like her.

Nobody wanted a black cat in our building, when one of the neighbor's cat had kittens....

Afterwards, we looked into adopting a Russian Blue, just because we were told they don't mind being alone in an apartment for many hours all day long.

I can’t see her going to the end.  When she gets voted out I wouldn’t mind them playing that hum as she walks away.  @Luckynana As soon as Xander pulled out the fake idol Sharon said, that’s a fake idol.  It was a nice play.  I was glad Erika smashed the hour glass.  My best episode this season.

I was glad Erika smashed the hour glass, also!

I fly the American flag too as well as the Italian flag.

We've always flown our American Flag.  Here in NJ, we have a flagpole with a spotlight shining on Old Glory🇺🇸

However,  in my 50+ years on this earth, I never heard of a fried bologna sandwich until I was in San Antonio,  TX a few years ago. I had it with ketchup and no onions because onions=yuck. But the sandwich was so tasty that I sent a few pics to family & friends. Big deal for me because I'm not a food porn guy. Most of the responses back were yuck.

Of course most responses were YUCK. Because bologna sandwiches should be eaten with MUSTARD. Very crispy around the edges.

My brother made the most heavenly bologna sandwiches.

Pat, you raise a very valid point, which I didn't even think about.

One reason is that Jane ( @firefly333) bought a condo near John without even seeing it..... So I imagined it is done.

Second, and here the differences between our countries might enter into the picture, in every rental contract here there is a clause in which should the proprietor decide to sell, the renters have to grant entry to prospective buyers, 2 - 3 times a week, at their [renters'] convenience.

That's the norm here without even a second thought -- the realtors, or the owners themselves, just "book" several "prospectives" at the same hour, and that's it.

I assume in US it's a matter of good will....

Actually I did see it. I had a contingency clause I could get it inspected and walk away from the contract. I packed my bags and drove 2 days each way to florida. It would have been cheaper to fly but I drove and was there within 48 hours.

I'm sure I posted pictures from when I went to inspect the condo. Not exactly the same as buying it sight unseen. I'd have wanted to get a feel for the street and the condo complex and the beach right there in addition to the condo itself.

I could have walked. We added contingencies.

How do you like the condo?  Are you living there or still in tx?

I have not but it is on my list.

There is a really good book “ Driving Mr Yogi” about him and Ron Guidry , Guidry drove him from the airport to spring training and after that yogi wanted him to drive him everywhere,  anyplace he went to eat someone picked up the tab 😁

I still make them about once a month

I love fried bologna.  Not really with ketchup but sautéed onions.  It has been awhile since I had one more less because I have forgotten until today so on the grocery list it goes.

No, no, fried bologna sandwiches should be served with mayo and a fried egg.  😊

I am in the process of re-evaluating the necessity of going to doctors where something like this could occur again.

It's unrealistic that people with mobility issues visiting a doctor would be expected to walk down stairs when it's impossible for them to do so.  I guess there's no other option if elevators can't be accessed in an emergency.

I love bologna. I know, probaly not the healthiest of the cold cuts (or lunch meat as others call it) but I find it yummy

I eventually found a place near me that a has fried bologna on the menu. A southern BBQ opened by a transplant southern. Needless to say,  that place has become one of my go-to places.

Growing up in NYC, fried salami sandwiches were a staple made with fresh baked rye bread from the neighborhood bakery.  They actually baked their own bread, pastries in back of the store.  Anyone remember the cake boxes that were tied up with thin red and white string with the string holder hanging high up in the air?

This thread is awesome.  In a short amount of time, I already have 3 different friend bologna sandwich recipes! 😁

There are recipes?  We just fried up salami slices in a frying pan.  When they curled up, they were done.  Or cut into the slices so they don't curl.  Slather on some ketchup or mustard.  No onions for me.  With a barrel sour pickle or two, it made a fantastic lunch.

Again thank you from the bottom of my heart. All of you are incredible.

Greg. Just know that it is better for Maggie and you. It would have been impossible for your pet sitter to make that sort of decision. And you will have the relief of not the constant worry about her while you are gone. I am so sorry for your loss. I am sure you will all have a wonderful time.

Fried egg sandwich includes Kraft singles, Miracle Whip, and mustard. Brown or yellow.

And it's really good wrapped in a flour tortilla
