 I think the easiest and cleanest looking fix now would be to brake up about 12 to 18 inches of the concrete where the concrete meets the driveway and put a lip on it so it's about 3/4 to an 1 inch higher then the   driveway.

Can't see hacking up that driveway at this point.

That definitely won’t work at all.

If you know what you are doing it would. All ready sounds like the garage floor is not pitched toward the door like it is suppose to be.

If the garage floor was pitched right it never would have went inside the house. Even if garage floor filled up half way into garage it would have had a chance to go back out over the raised driveway part, the driveway isn't raised that much.. But probably was no pitch in garage floor.

The way you can tell, get a bucket of water and dump it in the middle of the garage floor and see which way the water runs, does it run toward the garage door or toward the living space?

I did enjoy “ the deuce” I did live in nyc at that time amazing the transformation of Times Square from then to now.
speaking of how some artist cannot be duplicated, we are doing our annual 70’s cruise in a couple of weeks , some groups are mostly same as they were in the 1970’s but some just have a minor band member in it. But we even like some of the cover bands , love the interviews from people like Peter Asher who was close to the Beatles and others that played with Dylan.

@sgmn, @LucasLikesToCruise & all,

Fingers and toes crossed -- it seems that the crisis was averted, at least for the moment...

Saturday it looked even bleaker when I've tried to see the schedule for the next week -- it was blocked for all flights to Dubai. I tossed all the night and barely gathered myself in the morning, following the news.

On the bright side, we've passed the PCR test with flying colors, and it was not as terrible as I've thought (or may be the guy who administered it was a real pro).

On the dark side, my hubby kept "disappearing" from our reservation [Remember, they moved our seats several times, and the last time we were seated separated...]. I choose to upgrade us both to "premium economy", so as to seat together and only the 2 of us.

At least they are taking calls for flights inside the next 72 hours, and I was able to speak with a "real" person. They put him back, and after a few minutes, yes, you guessed right, he was doing the "disappearing act" again.

Luckily, I'm a genius 🤪  After so many "disappearing acts", I've come to the conclusion that, since he received a free ticket linked with a promotional new credit card, I'll have to charge his upgraded seat to his card instead of mine... and it worked!!! The problem was that my card passed muster, and it was rejected afterwards by the airline computer... It should have been nice if they've called to tell me instead of spending 2 days on this matter.

@Ozark_Kid - excellent news about Shelby.

@Sea Dog - I'll keep you in my thoughts on my way to Dubai 😘

@grapau27, @sgmn, @aussielozzie18 and @Norwich Cruiser -- my best wishes for HM The Queen. I was so happy seeing her smiling, even though my heart cringed a little... she seems so frail😢

@molly361 Ellen, enjoy your cruise🌺

@Luckynana - How is Jim?

@reallyitsmema -- hopefully, no leaking water in the next rainstorm.

@Ocean Boy -- thank you for the moving story about the dog and his owner.

and last, but not least -- @A&L_Ont - amazing photo and dinner too.

Apologies if I've forgot someone... I'm so tense...

+1, or whatever number for all of the above.

Dani, wishing you a smooth, stress free trip.

This is wonderful news!   I am so happy that you passed your covid tests and able to proceed with your flights and your planned holiday.   Stay safe and we look forward to hearing about your travels and some photos when you can, no rush as we want you to enjoy this holiday 🙏🥰

But wouldn't that be a trip hazard as that asphalt looks about 1" too high and then end up with 2" high lip.    And would be a PIA when taking stuff in and out the garage - such as snowblower, etc.

I read an article that it’s filming is complete and should be released before May in order to be eligible for whatever award shows that they want to be considered for. I’m sure Greg @Sea Dog knows more about this than I do.

You are correct that is one of the reasons is to be eligible for separate award times.

Releasing the season in two parts means each set of episodes can air in different award windows – Ozark has been a big winner for Netflix at the Emmys in previous years, and they might potentially be able to pick up a few more awards this way.

The second is that part of it is a cost saving measure ,  filming a slightly longer season then splitting it in two (previous seasons of Ozark have been ten episodes long, fewer than Season 4’s fourteen episodes) is cheaper than filming two seasons. This also lets them get more content out of actors who may want to move onto other projects and commitments.

And finally, there’s just the question of eyeballs , even though Netflix doesn’t quite do series premieres and series finales the same way a normal television channel would, splitting Season 4 into two gives them another event to get people to tune in for.

@Sea Dog wishing you a successful surgery and a speedy recovery.  My husband had me watch a knee replacement surgery video.  It isn’t my idea of entertainment but very informative.  I guess follow the instructions of your docs is the secret to doing well.  All the best to you.

Thank You, Wednesday is coming up fast. Got all my meds, Walker was delivered today. Still doing pre surgery exercises. Anxiety is setting in. Hoping everything goes well.

@Sea DogI hope your surgery goes well and you are able to chase those puppies around in the near future! 🙂

  I think am ready. One last sushi lunch (last supper) with my dear friend tomorrow since I won't be going out for several weeks after my surgery on Wednesday.

Probably no different then when the driveway guy comes in and takes off an inch or more of the asphalt by the concrete to get it lower.

Exactly, that’s why I said it wouldn’t work.  That pesky gravity gets in the way. 🤔

We may be the only ones who hadn’t seen an episode of Ozark.  We just started watching season 1 after we finished the Reacher series.  Looks like we will have lots to binge on.

Meanwhile today, it was time to feed everyone.

There were about 4 squirrels working on this one, and they emptied it pretty quickly.

Last, but not least, I had to be fed too.  Lunch today.

Guess we can say also the garage floor was poured wrong also. Should have been pitched toward the door. I don't think that was done correctly either.

It was a combinations of errors. Even the floor of the living area wasn't higher then garage floor. That wall should have be placed on a block above the garage floor.

@dani negreanuGreat news! Have a fab trip.

@Sea Dog Before you know it you’ll be on the mend and the op will be well behind you.

@h20skibum Nice photos.  Love seeing photos of snow & squirrels.  I haven’t watched Ozark either.  Hope to watch it eventually as I’ve enjoyed watching the talented cast in other shows.

What type of house do you think I live in?  You are making a lot of assumptions.

The entire garage floor was not replaced.  Only a cracked portion on the floor was replaced.  As far as the pitch of the new concrete, it does go towards the door.  We put a level on the floor today as well as on the driveway as we were looking at the pitch.

While I appreciate all the comments and suggestions that have been offered, I also do not think we are getting anywhere on this subject.  I will update in the spring after whatever fix is completed.  We will put the barriers down for now and hope for the best.

Time for the Below Deck reunion!

Eric and I watched the first episode of Reacher yesterday and enjoyed.    Will definitely follow through with the other episodes.      I binged too much in the last 2 years and now trying to space out my shows.

If I like a show I tend to binge watch.The actress who plays Roscoe was in the show Scream Queens that was on tv years ago.I just finished watching a movie that she starred in filmed in Long Island.The Director has the same last name as a guy who I knew in college.It is not a common name and I am thinking possibly a relation

No you are not in the minority. I did not care for that film either but because of this...... I am crazy about the original Lucy and like there CANNOT be another Freddie Mercury, there will NEVER be another Lucy Ricardo. I cannot imagine anyone even acting like one. JMO and thought. I will give credit to Niole Kidman for her acting, she is an excellent actress, but I cannot see her as Lucy Lucy.

I feel the same way .I may have every album released by Queen

I have been a long time fan of Nicole Kidman too but not for this movie.

I tend to play different word games while watching tv.  😁

For my first word I have been using a word with 4 vowels.
