On my last cruise a guy had one, and filmed me surfing.  I have the video, but I haven’t gone thru the freaky software yet to distill it into something watchable yet.  No time too much life going on.  It seems really cool, he had a 10-12 foot selfie stick, and it created drone type video.  While I was on the cruise waiting for my next ride on the FlowRider, I researched them and at the time I was hot for buying them.  That said, seemed like a steep learning curve to edit and lots and lots of digital stuff, aka really large digital files.  I already record stuff in 4K and it is a PITA dealing with the editing of that kind of stuff.  Not to mention high volume storage.  My 3 year old Mac Book Pro, while a good computer is probably not up to the task in a reasonable time.

I need someone to convince me my negativity is misplaced.

JC

I agree, I think there is a steep learning curve to make those videos shine. But with that being said it does create some amazing videos. If you think about what that camera does on a long selfie pole creating a very realistic drone effect, it's cheaper than a drone and you can use it on a cruise ship where you can't use a drone. In the end it may be a big win win for you.

Nate and I got engaged on that building. It will forever be my favorite place in Rome

THAT was the reason I've posted it...

Like Sue below, I remember the video [and the nice shirt you wore], how romantic it was for Nate to get on one knee and how emotional you were. Otherwise, this so called "cake" will have not found itself among "luminaries" like Piazza Navona, Fontana and Pantheon 😉

Happy 4th of July weekend to all on here celebrating!  I got the weekend started last night here in Detroit seeing Abba The Concert, tribute band at Motor Casino Hotel.  They were awesome!!!  Lot's of singing along and dancing 💃.  Monday DH and I depart for Rhode Island and Mass for the week.  We are staying a few nights in Narragansett, visiting my uncle in North Kingstown for lunch and then on to Westport, Mass for a family memorial service.  Praying all of our flights go as scheduled 🙏.

Since we were close to Primanti Brothers, we had to stop to refuel.

We've talked about Primanti Brothers before but just getting caught up on the thread and scrolling through I didn't even have to read your cation above the photo to know exactly where you had eaten.

I know exactly what you mean. WARNING: Gross Alert Ahead !! Lizzy ate one of Linda's shoelaces and when she tried to throw it up and couldn't Linda have to put her fingers in her mouth and pull it out by hand. The other thing they do and it's really too disgusting to talk about it, but they both like to eat their own poop. It's a challenge to quickly get to them with a baggie and get it before they do. We have to brush their mouth out with doggie toothpaste. It's so disgusting to see but as you said, we still love them.

So tonight we were going to go to the big city. Warren Ohio to a tribute band concert. This would be our practice run until we see Jimmy Buffet in Cincinnati in 20 days, but whose counting.

I was actually going to rough it.

Why?

Lawn chairs on grass/concrete

Bugs

Port a potties

Hot sun, humid,

Rain and thunderstorms predicted.
Extraordinary LOUD music even with ear plugs

But dodging a bullet on this one.
Weather not going to cooperate

Hmmmm

Maybe  a movie  instead.

Fins to the Left does a really good tribute.  I hate to see that rain is forecast.  We have been in Erie yesterday and today, and no rain in the forecast here.

I use to order the Pittsburger sandwich, and add lots of hot sauce to it.  Lately, my go to one is the pastrami.

At least you were not having to pull it out the other end

That I will have to try.  It's been a long time since we've been.  Might work out on our trip south at Christmas.  We should be passing through Erie PA about 8pm so that would work for a late dinner

Since the Erie forecast said no rain for a couple days, we decided to spend some hotel points and have a little get away.

Yesterday, we did Waldameer Amusement Park.  According to their sign, they have been in business since 1896.

The first ride of the day for us was a calm sky ride.

Then, what better than to put our grandson in the front seat of the log ride.  He was not happy at how wet he got. 🤣

How about a roller coaster?

Ok, so he got his revenge, when he took me on the tilt-a-whirl.  He loved that one, but I was like…..

I don’t think that thing stopped spinning the entire ride.  That kind of ride is tougher for me to do, the older I get.

End of the day, he did win a prize.  Now, today, we are off to the beach.

@Ozark_Kid, John, they're both so adorable 😍

Our first stop was Katakolon (Olympia). We've already visited once, so this time we took a bus (10 Euro pp return), which took us to Olympia, we had 2 hours to roam, and then back to the port. It was a very HOT day [actually, like all the other stops, but this one was with almost no shade].

We saw the site of the Olympic stadium

There are some chews you can get at the pet store to discourage them from this behavior.  It might be worth trying.

Another stop we've been before and thoroughly enjoyed it was Santorini. We were pleasantly surprised to find 200$ OBC from Celebrity, and used 110$ to book the transfers through the ship.

Last time we relied on a private company for the transfers to Oia, and it took ages until they completely filled the boat. I didn't want to sit in an enclosed boat at this Covid time, and it turned out that it was a wise decision, since Celebrity took us through another route, we saw more of Santorini, and all the experience was better organized. Price wise -- private company -- 60 Euro + 12 Euro for the cable car, versus 110$ with Celebrity -- not a bad deal....

Look at the various colors --
