What is on the ear of corn?

Some sort light mayo sauce. Kinda sweet.

Side note -

I'm Getting old.

After I paid for the lunch, I left the credit card at the restaurant.  Didn't even realize it until I tried to take it out again to order dinner and realized it wasn't with me.

So had to make an emergency phone call to the credit card company to block all access to the account going forward. Good thing I found out before I get on the ship with no wifi or calling ability...

Currently watching the original “Miracle on 34th st” , will watch Last Christmas tomorrow.

It's the best one!

I always loved going down to Rockefeller Center to view the tree and amazing decorations and of course the ice skaters, and an authentic NYC deli lunch!

My Chanukah was great.  Although we missed our daughter and grands ( in NJ), we got together with my sister, BIL, their married kids, their grands, some mutual friends and had the best time eating ourselves almost unconscious.

For all those celebrating, a Merry Christmas to all on this wonderful thread.  You've opened your hearts, shared tears and giggles.  May Santa be good to all of you and may your holiday table be filled with the laughter and love of family and good friends.

Spirit of Christmas time...

This lady and her husband came into our shop yesterday about 2:00.  There's a direct door into my (shared) office, so she walked in and asked if we could make a roasting pan.  She had a little piece of paper with dimensions and all that.  She had someone lined up to make one but it fell through, and she went to a couple other places close by and they gave her the "we don't have the time" brush off.  I asked her when she needed it by...she looked down and kinda shyly said "Saturday??"

Being the Thursday before Christmas, we had plenty of people out early, and more not working today to make a longer weekend.  So I sent her over to our sales and production office, gave our salesman Mike a heads up that a very sweet lady was coming around with a huge ask and said to him if there's any way we can do something to make a good Christmas, let's make it happen.  I walked over to the other side of the shop and saw her talking to Mike.  Our folks were already on it.  Our programmer was drawing something up, our production supervisor was looking for a scrap piece of material we could make her pan out of, and our brake press operator was getting his brake set up.  Cindy (the lady) was tearing up....she told us that her husband was in stage 4 cancer, and this pan was for roasting a pig for a big party Sunday for his mom.  She asked how much it was going to cost, and we told her it won't cost you anything....Merry Christmas.  She cried some happy tears.  We told her we'd call her in the morning when it was done.

So this morning one of our welders welded it up, put some handles on it.  She and her husband came in to pick it up....she brought cake for the gang.

There are plenty of days in my job that really suck.  In the 21+ years I've been working here, this may be the best day I've ever had.

That's gonna be some pig.

When you get a chance to make someone's Christmas...just do it 🙂

Yeah, same here. It's been many years since I have cruised out of Fort Lauderdale but I recall they had like a tarp over that floweider.

Will check it out tomorrow.

I thought I read someone here at CC mentioned years ago it was some rich dude installed it for his son but after awhile his son got bored with it and stopped using it. Not sure how true is that urban legend or if the house has changed hands since...

I’m waiting for White Christmas to come on.

I've already watched it twice this year. As well as "Holiday Inn" which was made 12 years earlier & was the first time the song White Christmas was sung. As a duet by Bing & some lady whose name I'm too lazy to look up. lol.

Also, I was told I have to watch "A Christmas Carol" (1951) with Alistar Sim as he's the best Scrooge ever.  So I went to look for it and do you know how many versions of A Christmas Carol there are? At least as many as Hallmark Channel has  Christmas movies!

I'm partial to Mr. Magoo as Scrooge. 😉 And George C. Scott. What better Scrooge than General Patton! 😀

What did Jake do to deserve the win?

Well, he sucked at everything.  He was super hard working, and kept trying to suck in new ways.  He was always losing and finding new ways of losing.  If that doesn’t make him the best, I don’t know what could!🤣

PS, I kind of liked him.  Reminds me of my first gradual school office mate from Boston.  Kept telling me we need to go potty.   Took me a few weeks to know he meant party.

Let me know when you get it installed, I will park my Airstream there and teach you how to FlowRide, since Andrew has completely dropped the ball.

Went to Hollywood Beach and rented the Surrey bike to ride around the Broadwalk (they call it Broadwalk instead of Boardwalk) with lots of other tourists.

Highly recommend visiti Hollywood Beach for anyone with an extra day pre cruise.

We have done Hollywood pre cruise before and rented a surrey.  That night they had a free concert on the beach/ square area.  Great memories.

Just finished doing the last of grocery shopping.  5 stores to get everything I hope we need for the next 6 days. If not, someone else will be going.

Tomorrow afternoon all 3 of our DDs, 6 grands and a couple of SILs will arrive.  It will be a crazy, busy, messy, noisy time but will be wonderful!  I have multiple crafts ready to go, of course games and a 1000 piece puzzle, a cupcake tree decorating contest planned and new this year headed up by a daughter a “ who makes the best Christmas drink” competition, after the kids are in bed of course.

My wife would like to see New York City during Christmas but I don’t want to visit in  winter.  We will watch several Christmas movies in next few days including, Christmas Carol, Christmas vacation, It’s a wonderful life , Christmas story and many others.

What a nice thing to do! That is a really big pan. I don't think it would fit in our oven. Did she happen to mention how they were going to cook it? What a wonderful, kind thing you folks did for them. ☺️

Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays to our Dani cc family & all the forum followers who read but don’t post46EA9F62-F0BB-475F-B9A0-E18A602E0478.thumb.jpeg.71794fc54ac34dfc75cc23eeca2fd664.jpeg

We’ve just had Santa in his Christmas decorated NSW Rural Fire Service truck and a parade of Rural fire trucks drive past with sirens blaring and blowing their horns and  throwing lollies to the kiddos.  At the end of their Santa run, Santa & his helpers in their yellow fire suits will meet & greet the kiddos  🚒🎅🎄

@Ocean Boy We had a pre-Christmas visitor tonight from your favourite Australian spider.  He appeared as I went to close the blinds.  Sadly DH extinguished him with the Mortein spray before I could re-locate the Huntsman back outside (he had scuttled behind one of DH’s framed cricket photos) and there was a risk of the glass frame breaking whilst I tried to catch him.
