When will RC cancel the rest of June?

Funny you mention that. I typically love taking the train into the city and either spending the day or the weekend. I get such a rush being in the city environment. But I have no interest in being there. I have to check my Metro card to see what the expiration date is on it.

The only thing to see in the city now is the inside of a hospital. They plan on office visits in June. That's the tentative date they gave DW to return to work. Honestly if tourism opens up I may be forced to actually visit tourist traps in my own state.  I have lived here all of my life and I have never even been to Ellis Island, the Statue of Liberty, Niagara Falls and many of the popular museums.

Based on the SEC filing today by RCL - it's going to be awhile as they are still in process of reducing their debt loan and beginning to transition ships to cold layup.     I suspect that is some of the ships on their way to Europe to deliver crew (such as Empress and Freedom).

True that Freedom, Empress & Majesty could be transitioning to cold layup in Europe, maybe Southampton, UK. But I’ve read more and more people over the last few days who believe that Empress and Majesty’s days could be numbered.

Few people are actually tourists in their own home towns. I live about an hour north of the city and never been to the Statue of Liberty nor Ellis Island either. Did make it to the top of the Empire State Building twice in 55 years.

Love Niagara Falls though and now that there are casinos on both sides.....👍

Back to NYC, love visiting during day trips, hated having to work there for 2 years when my company relocated their offices to midtown Manhattan.

I thought today might have been the day guess not

The March announcement was the 13th, and in April it was the 16th.  If they keep with that month by month of cancellations...IMHO...we should hear something around the 14th or 15th of this month?  Guessing game.  😉

Next Friday is my guess.

I wondering if they will delay next round of cancellations for another week or two since they just announced the enhanced cwc program and their CSR people have been very busy with the L&S transfers alot of people seem to be doing.  I hope not as I have a final payment due on may 18th for an august cruise that was going to be a b2b in europe and cannot find similiar itinerary for the b2b to transfer to 2021.

Even when the next round of cancellations is announced I seriously doubt it will extend into August.  Going by past cancellations this will extend it until mid July...possibly end of July.

Just a guess...but IMHO...those are two different departments.  Wouldn't L&S be reservations department?  Should be different than the department doing the refunds?

I know....just hoping they will say no europe cruises this summer like hal and princess did.    I would absolutely love to do the trip as my family spent lots of time planning all our excursions and everyone was really excited.  Lots of mixed news about europe letting international travelers in this summer.    At least rcl has some nice options with the new cwc program.  Hopeful but doubtful at same time.

It would definitely be nice if they did cancel some of those itineraries as some other lines have.

This is what I'm hoping as well.  We have the Explorer booked out of Rome and at this point we'd rather just have a refund and then book at a later date once we know what the situation looks like.  While we could use L&S to change to Oct 2021 there are no guarantees these sailings will take place either.

I am wondering if they will do a couple of select cruise ship/area cancellations, as other lines have done, ....cancelling the Alaska season completely.   That would take it through August and September for that area.

Then there is the domino effect.

Alaska gets cancelled then what happens with the Radiance TP?  And the Asian season.

And the Serenade and Ovation TPs?  And the Oceania season.

Both of those seasons extend into 2021.

I, too, wish they's cancel Europe or other select sailings that don't seem like they will be possible. We were supposed to be on Allure out of Barcelona in October, but we wont be sailing on that one for sure. We can't do Lift and Shift since we wont be able to travel due to work/school Fall 2021. I figure I will wait until closer to final payment to cancel for the FCC as I would prefer a refund since so much seems up in the air at this point.

So far they have not cancelled any itineraries outside of final payment; doubt that will change.

Unfortunately I think you are right on there....  😞    Though my next payment is for an Alaska cruise, so I am wondering if RCI will make announcement on Alaska season like other lines have already done.

Yup...and I am booked on Serenade out of Sydney from 2/10 through to 5/16/21.   Serenade would be coming from Alaska to go down there.... if schedule was upheld.  Everything is in limbo right now.  😵

Me too...am booked on Allure 3 legs 10/18 to 11/14.  I will let RCI cancel it for me...assuming it will come to that.

I hope I get my answer then.  I just booked a cruise for December 2020.  If my July cruise is cancelled, I will apply those funds to two other unpaid cruises.

If Europe season gets cancelled, Anthem could be out of action for a while because doesn’t look like New York is going to be particularly better by the time she goes there later in the year 😞

(obviously things could change but they’ve got it pretty bad)

Was going to start a new thread but perhaps I can get some opinions here.  Royal is still selling cruises for June, I would not mind buying a cheap 7 days cruise knowing I can book another similar cruise/category for the same price (if cruise cancelled), however that is not what FCC is all about, I think the cruiselines would have better sales if they implemented the replacement cruise strategy.
