mrlevin Posted June 18, 2020 #201 Share Posted June 18, 2020 It will be interesting to see if Carnival can actually sell the six ships or if they will send them to Alang for scrap.

mrlevin Posted June 18, 2020 #203 Share Posted June 18, 2020 (edited) Here is a Princess ship currently for sale: http://cruiseship.homestead.com/1999_Cruise_Vessel.pdf And isn't this a HAL ship? http://cruiseship.homestead.com/1350paxCruise1996.pdf Here is a great site to see which ships are available; I see the Radisson Diamond is for sale again. http://cruiseship.homestead.com/cruiseships.html Marc Edited June 18, 2020 by mrlevin
greykitty Posted June 20, 2020 Author #204 Share Posted June 20, 2020 Apollo's Steve Martinez resigns as NCLH director, effective immediately. Wondering if anything else emerges from the shareholder meeting. In a filing, NCLH said the resignation did not involve a disagreement with the company on any matter relating to its operations, policies or practices. https://www.seatrade-cruise.com/news/apollos-steve-martinez-resigns-nclh-director

greykitty Posted June 24, 2020 Author #206 Share Posted June 24, 2020 Earnings release season is upon up. CCL parent came out today - I'm sure there will be a lot more analysis to come, but as the cruise lines don't operate in vacuums, I thought some might be interested in one take on CCL https://investorplace.com/2020/06/ccl-stock-sailing-uncertainty-capital-raise/ NCLH next earnings release is expected on August 13, 2020 based on historical trends. And the Princess ship is the remaining R ship. Oceania or especially Azamara might snap it up if the timing was different.

greykitty Posted June 25, 2020 Author #209 Share Posted June 25, 2020 Hurry before they're gone! Costa Victoria will be no more soon, it seems. Pullmantur fleet also appears to be undergoing stripping of value. https://www.maritime-executive.com/article/cruise-industry-downsizing-begins-with-first-sale-of-a-ship-for-scrap Certainly historic times. B-2-Bs Best! Posted June 25, 2020 #210 Share Posted June 25, 2020 The Pacific Princess has been for sale for at least seven years. NCLH agreed to purchase Ocean Princess in late 2014 for delivery in early 2016 at a significantly lower price than the offering on Pacific Princess. I recall hearing, or reading somewhere, that 50 million was the price.

Steve Q Posted June 26, 2020 #213 Share Posted June 26, 2020 I am guessing that this may the first of many that will be scrapped over the next few years. Pcardad Posted July 8, 2020 #223 Share Posted July 8, 2020 If you have travel insurance it should cover bankruptcy (if needed). Allianz covers it on their WWTP programs....I am sure others do as well.
