See my post above as Im not sure a TA made booking can be converted.

Ok - good stuff.  so in that case, I'd better talk to TA first.....  would prefer to book with TA.  there's a possibility of using comp cruise in Spring but who knows?

I’ve been looking at a few alternatives to book by end of year, just in case they cancel my B2B in Apr/May. I would like to get to Diamond+, which I get on those cruises I have booked.

I don’t mind interior cabins as a solo, but I am just shocked at some of the differences in price, of I pick my cabin, or they pick. One of the ones I was looking at was $900 more for me to pick my interior cabin. What is up with that?

I wonder how many times Ken Rush handed out the crystal ship blocks during the Top Tier Party for C&A milestone cruises????? Must have been really important.

I think the cabin stewards know more...Ours has been left on our cabin bed or mailed to us.

And as a solo you can't book gty. I wish we could

Do click on gty as I can on april 18th the last time I clicked and for a little more gave me a choice of cabins. Rcl pricing is wonky ... I guess as a solo it takes me to non gty cabins, but still less than the you pick a cabin.

Speaking of Cyrstal Blocks - Did any of you see the "The Lowdown...A Trip Down Memory Lane" video put out by C&A recently with Ken Rush and Michael Bayley? When they showed and talked about Crystal Blocks neither knew that they were given as C&A milestones and thought they were for Pinnacles. It was on the book with a face social media page for C&A

A Trip Down Memory Lane

I don’t think MB has an idea of the C&A levels except Pinnacle. He and his family were in an OS just a couple cabins down from us on Freedom Presidents Cruise so we saw him in the hallway many times.

On this cruise, only people who had access to DL was Pinnacle’s. CL was still open to Suites, D+, and P’s. Lots of complaining regarding the limited access to the DL.

if you are just trying to hold the room then book the room with a refundable deposit then cancel it as you (Or your TA) are on the phone making the computer reservation.

TA’s now get a flat rate commission on the comp cruises.

Unless this is a change to the booking rules, my TA has always been able to convert a non-casino booking to a casino booking as long as it is a qualifying sailing (we normally only do this with our annual casino comp).  Maybe the rules have changed ?

I'm really not sure on that one.  I just know that there is a difference in how the Casino cruises are booked (same system as a direct booking) which is different than a TA booking.

I’m not going to tell the boss she is now a senior. 😇

Many places offer senior discounts ranging from 10-30%.  Even if you are younger than the boss, you still get the benefit of the discount.  Winning!

I'm stumped on this.  Why would a TA want a casino comped booking?  I didn't think TAs got a commission on free cruises?  Do they give perks on these?

Only discount my wife won't except.  A senior is someone a year older than her current age, as near as I can tell.

TA,s now get a small flat rate commission on the competed booking.  $50 insides and Oceanview, balcony and suites is $100.

Some TA’s were servicing them for free before and it was just part of doing everything they could for their clients and not worrying about making a commission on every booking.

I’m ok with that. I don’t think it’s a good idea to tell her she gets a senior discount. She might just bring out her scalpel 😇

Thanks for explaining that.  Well poo, wish I'd known -- we have 12 comped on the books.  We have always had to pay taxes and fees and any upgrade charges at the time of booking.  I'll check to see if any were booked within 60 days and can be transferred.

Try a few mock bookings with her as the lead guest.  See if it makes a difference.

I thought it was only applicable when a Sr. rate is offered...many of my cruises it hasn't been.

For us it doesn't matter who the lead guest is we're both way into that senior zone but since I

do all the travel managing I'm the lead :classic_wink:
