Drink Vouchers for Diamond, etc.

Recommended Posts

Does the Navigator have a Diamond, etc. Lounge and how does it work with the Drink Vouchers that are given out.  i.e., given if there is no lounge or given anyway and can be used at any bar during the Diamond, etc. Event in the evening?  Or?  I read a total of 3 vouchers each -- that is for the entire cruise, yes?  Haven't been on RCCL for a bit but booked one today.  If there is a Lounge, is it open all day or just for breakfast and evening?

Until cruises on her return, we won't know how or if the DL will be used,  but, yes she has a DL.

Previously, 3 per night during happy hours (the same drinks as served in DL). I’ve not been on a ship yet that didn’t have a Diamond Lounge. I believe Majesty was the only one.
Things may be different in the future.

The lounge is open all day.

Unlimited drinks in DL during happy hour plus three loaded onto your seapass daily also to be used during HH.  Three drinks on seapass are good, at least in the past, at almost any bar, showroom, MDR and specialty restaurant. I did read a few weeks ago that if the DL is not open due to covid restrictions  they may increase the drinks on the voucher to 5 and good all day. Hope that's true, I read it on a Royal blog site.

If the lounges aren't open..I'll miss the happy hour snacks...one/two drinks in the lounge is enough for me.

It’s not as if you are going to starve .

You can get most of what is on offer at windjammers or cafe promenade.
I like 270 there’s everything to support human  life functions.
A  BAR ,FOOD (especially Ruben sandwiches) and a nice atmosphere.

That post was riddled with errors which is why Royal asked them to pull it.

Thanks, all.  If there is a Lounge and drinks are provided, can you order whatever you like or is there a few basic ones to choose from?  I assume if the voucher is used at a bar, you're free to order a margarita if that is what you want 🙂

Blended drinks are hard to come by.  I stick to gin and tonics or vodka martinis.  Wife loves her Cosmopolitans, sometimes she is on a champagne kick. She never has a problem getting a Amaretto and cranberry in the showrooms.

A little tip.. In the bar walk up to the bartender and order, they make them fresh. Order from the server and you end up with something sometimes pre made.

Do they include specialty coffee or tea drinks on Quantum?

I know I'm not going to "starve" ! That's not the point ! We enjoy having a bit of a snack with our pre-dinner drink also the convenience, atmosphere and view from the lounge.

I think someone reported having one specialty coffee on the SeaPass card. If the DL is closed, I assume the same will be true on other sailings to make up for the loss of the coffee machine in the DL, that was kinda standard even pre-COVID.

Isn’t the diamond lounge still open with the coffee machine?

There’s just no food and no happy hour.

The covid changes are 4-6 drinks on your card to be used ANYWHERE on the ship ANYTIME of the day or night, and RENEWS each day.

It's a good perk, IMO.

Doesn't compare to a dedicated lounge to sit, relax, meet new friends, enjoy.

Then add the unlimited snacks, cappuccino and drinks... no way 4 anytime drinks compares

No one really has updated info.  That’s old news.

I agree it’s just not the same. Oh well. If we could just start cruising soon we would all know how it’s going to be.

+1. We would definitely look at other Cruise lines if the Diamond Lounge was not available. Having said that I’m not keen on the Diamond Lounge on the bigger ships. Went on Symphony in its inaugural year and the lounge with no windows and buried in the depth of the ship was impersonal although the Concierge did her best the layout was not conducive to chatting to other guests and the whole experience of a windowless room was a bit depressing.

The “depth of the ship?”  The Diamond lounge is on the entertainment deck. It is adjacent to Jazz on Four, across from the Comedy Club, in between the Ice Rink and the Theater and not far from the Casino. One dining room is also on that deck.  Never considered the entertainment hub and dining room to be in the “depth of the ship”.

Yes it has no windows, but most of the venues on an Oasis Class ship have no windows.

The company provided a lounge with all the amenities, yet some passengers are not satisfied. Wonder if a lounge on deck 4 with no window is better than no lounge at all?

Many on CC  agree that  when US cruising resumes there will be changes to the Loyalty and/or Suite lounges. No one knows what the changes might be.
