Drink Package.....and a fridge?

Does anyone have a good explanation why after you buy a premium drink package, that celebrity does not let you drink the small quantity of beer and wines in the fridge? I have to go all the way to the bar order my drinks and come back to the room to have a drink on the "veranda". I am not com[plaining but, I would like to know the understanding about the take a drink out of the fridge and they will charge you? I understand why they don't deliver it to your cabin, but the fridge is a charge. Do they frown upon drinking in the cabin? I did not see if you can still order a bottle of scotch and have it in your room, Yet. Just wondering why?

It's likely a hang over from before the new pricing system. If you want a free minibar, then you'll have to book an upper tier suite. Is it really different from a lot of hotels? They charge for the minibar,  but I can go up to the concierge lounge in our favorite hotels and drink free.

Think of the contents of your "mini bar" as just that, a for charge mini bar. Ask your room steward to remove the contents, or be prepared to pay the "mini bar" rate. It's just the way it is.

You can drink from the mini-bar if you upgrade to the Drinks and More package.  I did for that very reason.  Plus the casino credit and wine tasting is a nice bonus.

I'm sorry I bought the "Premium Drink package and did not see any thing called "and More"? Is that some where else on the booking?

By the way I am a Renton HS Grad.

Hello fellow Rentonite, I am a Hazen raisin.  Class of '90. Still living in the Highlands.

Yes, it's the one beverage package just above the Premium package.

Unless things have changed with Drinks & More for all in the cabin there is a standard restocking.  You do not get to select which liquor, soda  or beer are stocked.  Just the wine included in D & M you do not get to chose the wine.
On a short cruise, if you can use the $50 casino credit it’s not a bad deal. The longer the cruise the less value.

You're correct.  It's only valuable on a 7 day or less cruise.  And it has to be booked for both cruisers in a cabin.  I also found this additional information regarding what is stocked, so your mileage may vary depending on what you want to drink.

"

The mini bar fridge had 2 regular cokes, 2 diet cokes, 1 split of La Crema Chardonay, 1 split of Kendall Jackson Cabernet Sauvignon, 2 Heinekens, 4 Titos Vodka small bottles, 2 large Evian waters 2 Pringles cans, and 2 Kind bars.

We asked our stateroom attendant if we could have rum & gin rather than vodka but he said they could not switch what came in the minibar.

We really did end up liking the mini bar setup, took the snacks on excursions and drank the waters and splits while sitting out on the balcony. Really gives you more options, so why not?

The wine tasting event was the same wine tasting event as the Elites are invited to so that didn't up anything extra for us."

Can you still by a case of Sparkling wine from the Celebrity Cellars? like a Bon Vonage gift?

IMG_0406.JPG

You want to buy a whole case, or just a bottle or two?  You're also allowed to bring on 2 bottles of wine you'd like to drink.  And what year are you from Renton?

Celebrity is doing you a favor.  Those things are more of a cooler than a refrigerator and I like my beer cold.

Even in the top suites you do not get a selection of miniature spirits. You do get 2 x 1 litre bottles of your spirit of choice and your choice of beers and sodas. Wine technically is not included but your butler will usually get you a bottle if you request.

does that include a Celebrity Suite?  I just booked that category for the first time and learning what’s included.

No, RS and above.

Thanks. Better off anyway. We recently stopped drinking and we’re going to make an exception for the cruise. This will help us moderate.

Ahh, yes the the price we pay for convenience... fair or not?

Convenient, yes! Costly, possibly, if one chooses not to go to the nearest drink dispensing station.

For me, it is costly as my spouse has decided that the convenience is far better than walking five (5) minutes from the cabin to the nearest station so I just build in that cost (or do I???) as part of our fare in addition to the PBP... LOL

Think of the mini-bar as a profit center for X and I Am sure many of us use it to the max...

Cheers and bon voyage

At Sandals all inclusive, the  Conciege asked dh what he likes to drink..Fridge was kept fully stocked..no extra charge. Water was also included.  Seems like X wants to sound all inclusive but really is not.

Do not keep meds in fridge..temp control is iffy,.Cool not cold..usually!

Remember that not everyone has the always included package.

Casino comped cruisers don’t have it, last minute bookers don’t have it, people who booked months ago before AI existed don’t have it, just to name a few.

celebrity doesn’t want you emptying your minibar and giving the contents to someone who doesn’t have a package.

that’s just one reason.

It may seem like a matter of semantics but "All Included" and "Always included" are not interchangeable terms (although they seem to be used interchangeably by many on these boards). What is "Always Included"? The "classic" beverage package (and all the terms and restrictions of that package), an internet access (and all the limitations of that internet "stream" that's included) and Gratuities.

You can upgrade the drinks package if you like but you will also be restricted by the limitations of the package you choose.

People who insist on interpreting what "Always Included" means as "All Inclusive" will be perpetually disappointed.

Having stayed at Sandals many times in a variety of room levels, I can assure you that complimentary stocking of your bar is not available for all levels. So, while "all inclusive" provides the same selection of liquor to everyone, where you can get it does vary.
