Used a fork to dig into the top and filing then ate the remainder by hand, dead horse? Of course. Young Miss Gut no longer lives at home so dad had to clean up, there actually wasn’t much mess, but it sure went down well.

Blackduck59 Posted September 29, 2020 #4507 Share Posted September 29, 2020 (edited) In keeping with the theme it's Tourtiere for supper at the Duck house tonight. I will have a little tomato salad with mine and Lynn will have a green salad. Edited September 29, 2020 by Blackduck59

Blackduck59 Posted September 29, 2020 #4514 Share Posted September 29, 2020 (edited) French Canadian (La Belle Province) I think I talked about it earlier This is a very good one and close up Traditionally pork not so much beef, some are fairy spicy with allspice, cinnamon, and nutmeg some just with salt and pepper. This particular one has a mild spice mostly allspice, and a tiny bit of cloves. Edited September 29, 2020 by Blackduck59

Blackduck59 Posted September 29, 2020 #4516 Share Posted September 29, 2020 Perhaps a small pie could be eaten in hand but the filling is crumbly so it would fall out the sides of a slice. I o serve it with gravy sometimes but my Mom's best friend who has French Canadian roots made hers with ground pork only no beef and I think maybe some ground onions with salt and pepper. She didn't serve it with gravy. (or dead 'orse)
NSWP Posted September 29, 2020 #4517 Share Posted September 29, 2020 The French Canadian pies shown look tasty, heaps of filling, but certainly some gravy or 'orse needed, a little dry.
