cruzsnooze Posted September 14, 2018 #5 Share Posted September 14, 2018 Deal breaker for me, but thank you for posting for me to look at. Deposit of 10% per guest made under Great Escapes Sale is non-refundable.
Rare leck57 Posted September 14, 2018 #6 Share Posted September 14, 2018 Save "up to" $900. This usually means that one or two cruises have this and the others have savings that are far less. The "savings" are often off launch fares and I think people are mad if they ever pay a launch fare.

PoohUnderstands Posted September 15, 2018 #9 Share Posted September 15, 2018 Coming right after the fantastic 3 For Free Sale, this one is anticlimactic! Then add insult to injury the deposit is non-refundable?! Only way this sale would work is if you are planning a last minute type cruise and definitely going and at least get some type of discount to make you feel better! phabric Posted September 17, 2018 #10 Share Posted September 17, 2018 I booked under the Sun Drenched Sale and received $50/pp OBC for the 1 & 2 passengers. There will be 3 in the cabin. I will have see if the price changes when they open the Sale. The price for the 3rd person might be reduced as per the information posted here. We are stopping at the private island, St Martin and St Thomas and will be doing private tours. Does anybody know if the Excursion OBC can be used for other things and not just for Excursions? Buckeye10640 Posted September 17, 2018 #11 Share Posted September 17, 2018 I just returned home from fantastic Alaskan cruise....first time on Princess.... and while on board we purchased FCCs. Can any experienced Princess cruiser tell me how using a FCC works when booking a cruise with a non-refundable deposit. Do I just lose the $100 FCC if i end up needing to cancel? Any flexibility on changing dates? TIA. Sent from my SM-G955U using Forums mobile app

Can any experienced Princess cruiser tell me how using a FCC works when booking a cruise with a non-refundable deposit. Do I just lose the $100 FCC if i end up needing to cancel? Any flexibility on changing dates? TIA. If you cancel before the final payment date (normally when penalties start), you would lose just the $100 FCC. If you need to change dates, some have posted no problem and others have posted they lost the $100 FCC deposit.

Astro Flyer Posted September 25, 2018 #16 Share Posted September 25, 2018 Anybody see this Sale on Princess yet? I don’t see it yet and the tour credit is only available when booking by 10/9. Up to $200 in shore excursion credit‡ between 9/25 – 10/9 Shore Excursion credit = worthless to most people In past offers with tour credits it has been posted that it’s a credit to the shipboard account. In the T&C of the offer it states “cannot be used in the casino” so it appears to be an OBC useable for purchases other than just for tours. It’s not a worthwhile offer for me because I book earlier which often results in a lower net price for my cruises.

phabric Posted September 26, 2018 #19 Share Posted September 26, 2018 I call Princess about my March cruise that I booked with the Sun Drench Sale with $50 OBC. It falls within the Great Escape Sale. My sailing has the Great Escape Sale banner and shows the same price that I have. I did not say I had a booking, I asked why this sailing shows the same price as the Sun Drench. She was not sure and thought it must be a sale from the launch price.

I did not say I had a booking, I asked why this sailing shows the same price as the Sun Drench. She was not sure and thought it must be a sale from the launch price. If she had read the T&Cs she’d know that’s true: “Save up to $900 per stateroom (up to $450 per guest) is based on a discount off applicable Launch Fares on a space-available basis at time of booking on select sailings. Launch Fares are offering fares and may not have been in effect for the past 90 days or resulted in actual sales in all categories. Intermediate discounts may have been taken and fares may remain at discounted levels after this promotion”.

Grammyluvs Posted September 27, 2018 #22 Share Posted September 27, 2018 I called about the sundrenced 40% off sale. My cabin was $200 higher. The vacation planner I talked to at Princess said the prices printed already included the 40% off. WHAT A RIP OFF!
PlopPlop Posted September 27, 2018 #23 Share Posted September 27, 2018 I called yesterday to get pricing to refare our mini for 3 people and they said my category was sold out and if they did refare it would cost more than we paid. In fact, the lesser category minis cost more than what we paid. Not worth it!! Horrible sale!
Ombud Posted September 27, 2018 #24 Share Posted September 27, 2018 Looked online. My Star Princess 3/14/19 solo room is 1798 OC, refare would be 2198 minimum for outside cabin. Keeping the California rate. Plus I don't want obstructed, want to keep position on upgrade list, still wait listed #22 on TD .... OBC not worth the trade in But I'm really glad I found out on CC about 3 for free promo. (New Zealand next Nov)

In fact, the lesser category minis cost more than what we paid. Not worth it!! Horrible sale! I am not sure why people think a cruise sale has to mean it was better pricing than the previous sale. An automobile dealer's sale this week might have higher pricing than last week's sale. A grocery store sale on bread may have a higher price this week than the last time there was a sale on the same bread. If a current sale for a cruise is not better than what you want to pay, then do not book it. Same thing for the automobile sale or the grocery store sale.
