TIA The pullman does come down some and will be just above the person sleeping closest to the balcony. Still, we liked it better than a sofa bed. When a sofa bed is pulled out, your entire cabin basically becomes one giant bed with little space to get around. Our kid quickly learned to sleep with his feet toward the balcony. It was way too tempting to reach up and tickle his feet when he was the other way around. 1
shofer Posted May 8, 2019 #128 Share Posted May 8, 2019 We took 2 trips to Hawaii on Summit and loved the ship. Just wondering, if in the MDR, do they still have that beautiful crystal table and sculpture at the foot of the staircase?
Aralim Posted May 8, 2019 #129 Share Posted May 8, 2019 @Radio, if you happen to swing by the casino again for another round of luck, can you check what the table minimum is for craps, and whether double odds are offered or only single odds? Not sailing Summit until August of next year, but I always like to know how much to budget for the craps table. 😉
Rare Radio Posted May 8, 2019 Author #130 Share Posted May 8, 2019 Hello everyone and good evening. I think it was Dinah Washington who sang “What a difference a day makes”? She could have performed that today and it would have fit nicely. Today wasn’t a perfect day, but based on the weather from sail away and yesterday it sure made today seem almost perfect. We had sunny skies, with a nice breeze. The seas were still a little choppy but overall it was very nice. The Soundtrack Quintet played out by the pool today, and there were deck games, movies, contests, and trivia most of the day. I tried to stay up for Totally 80’s Party, and The Game Show: Wedding Games up in the Sky Lounge but it’s time for me to hit the rack. I was able to visit the Casino a couple of times today and I must be calm about my luck as to not jinx my stay there. We are still traveling about 10kts to Bermuda with Norwegian Escape at our side. Anthem of the Seas and Norwegian Gem have left Bermuda late this afternoon for their transit home. Captain Ioannis suggested again today that we should see Bermuda by around 5:30 am tomorrow morning and we should pick up the pilot by 6:30am. We are scheduled to be tied up at the pier by 8:30. Here are a few images of today. . . Thanks for tuning in. Radio Soundtrack soumded very good. . . The Sun brought out many passengers Passengers enjying the sun I love the blue seas Even the Solarium was busy The temperature felt like 90F in the Solarium Blue Skies and blue seas from my balcony Passengers were arriving early for the "Come Croon with me" Show
iheartbda Posted May 8, 2019 #131 Share Posted May 8, 2019 Radio, I’m sending you a virtual hug and kiss. I haven’t been on CC in ages, not that I haven’t sailed , just didn’t log on. Anyway, I’m on the May 19 sailing and have been to BDA in the double digits on 3 different lines. X was our intro to cruising to BDA and it’s always been our favorite line. So, for some reason decided to check the boards and who shows up with the best reviews? RADIO! Every Cruise we’ve been on to BDA was rough when hitting the Gulf Stream, some more than others. Still, nothing major. After all that, I do have a question. Have you found the in cabin fridge cold or is it the typical cooler masquerading as a fridge. I also once read that they work better if you don’t close the cabinet door in which they are located. Wonder if there’s any truth to that? My friend in BDA said the weather has been Bermudaful and he will do his best to keep it that way.☀️

JonnyCT81 Posted May 8, 2019 #136 Share Posted May 8, 2019 Firstly, thank you for taking the time to review the Summit, she looks great! I am going to going to Bermuda on her on the 5/19 sailing. In looking at your photos, I am sad to see them take away the normal tables that were there before, and replace it with a smaller table; how are you supposed to use your balcony for room service? My partner and I enjoy having breakfast on the balcony in the morning, it's hard to see how we can do that on such as small surface....don't people think of these things when they are making the purchase order for "tiny round cocktail tables"? In any case, enjoy the rest of your cruise, and thank you for your amazing effort!
keep on cruisin Posted May 8, 2019 #137 Share Posted May 8, 2019 Radio, Thank you for the review and great photos. We sail on Summit in August. You mentioned the outlets on the table lamp base, are there outlets on both sides of the bed or just the one side. And are the USB adaptors strong enough for the new devices. We were just on the Jade and the lamp USB's could not rapid charge a phone or tablet. Looking forward to the rest of your excellent live review.

I agree with you. Just an fyi that the functionality (or, rather, the lack thereof) of some of the new design choices, and especially the removal of tables, has been discussed a great deal on the Summit "Revolution" thread and some of the other "live from" threads, in case you want to go back and read those discussions. Enjoy your cruise live and hopy you can post mass quantities of pictures on your return :). Buena suerte! Thank you.

We still have about 200 nm to go before Bermuda and passengers are getting antsy about being at sea. At least it is possible to be out on the decks without rain and high winds. I plan to attend the Bermuda Shopping and excursion talk this morning in the Theater. There will be a Officers vs Passengers Volleyball Competition this afternoon and Bohemian Rhapsody will be playing on the Big Screen in the Celebrity Theater. Last night I was surprised to see a rose was provided in a vase and a friendly reminder that clocks need to be turned ahead 1 hour before going to bed. This will put us on Bermuda time (Atlantic Time Zone) I enjoyed a Cafe Mocha this morning Cafe Al Bacio this morning where I set up the Radio Pressroom to make this post. It is very relaxing there for a coffee. Here are some photos from last night and this morning. . . Thanks for tuning in. I was just in Bermuda last October and sailed right past the Fort St. Catherines on the ferry to St. George's, never saw that construction there. Also didn't have any new terminal building going up at that time either. Is that terminal building replacing one of the existing ones, or truly new and supplementing what they already have? And are both projects expected to be finished in the next few months? I'm going to be back in Bermuda on Anthem of the Seas in October, might have to check out that new resort if it's open for business.

We stayed at a Holiday Inn Hotel up on a big hill overlooking where they are building that new hotel and Fort St Catherines. Had a beautiful corner suite with awesome views. They took it down years ago...was a bit sad watching the video of its demise. Hope the new resort does well...it is a bit off the beaten path! Surprised they were permitted to build at that location ...so close to the Fort. Edited May 8, 2019 by hcat
