Hurricane Alice hit Bermuda in 1973 during our honeymoon at Elbow Beach. We were all asked to leave our rooms and meet in the ballroom for a hurricane party. The next morning we walked outside and saw giant frogs smashed on trees - will never forget that.

You moved way quicker than me I started dating my wife in 1987 and we married in 1991. I was 42 when I got married she was 29, but turned 30 a week later.

It was, and no kids till a couple years later, if anyone was thinking it was a shotgun wedding. 🤣🤣

It reminds me of one of our most famous generals, who also married quickly, and after the wedding he told his bride: "let's wait 3 months, in order for the 'public opinion' to 'settle down' ".

Their son was born exactly one year after the wedding...😁

My bro in law refuses to get vaccinated and won't wear a mask.  He is married to my sister, who is extremely frustrated at him, since she is an infectious disease specialist doctor!  😮

They were both going to come up to visit us for a week, flying up to stay with us while we did Maine this summer.  They would have been flying...he cancelled due to won't wear a mask which is mandatory on a flight or in the terminal.

Can't say I am a fan of her second husband.  Kind of happy she is coming up by herself.  😉

John will wear a mask when required. We flew to Vegas last Nov and had to wear masks then. He thinks the vaccines were pushed through too quickly. Perhaps they were, but they were also needed quickly. Anyway, he will be stubborn as a mule if I push him. I just keep making sure he is aware of latest news, etc and I know he will change his mind if I let him think it was his idea in the first place! 😉

Maybe @A&L_Ontcan send Lucy here to take care of this ring leader.  He and his cohorts have been digging up the mulch around the house.

Will do.

He is obviously surveying where to dig next.

As far as she is concerned, that hole could be his “grave”. 😂

A run down of my day.

Septic sucker arrived at my place at 8:45. My tank has a riser which is easy as pie to locate and remove. We finished at our place in an uneventful 30 minutes.  The good thing, it hides nicely between the plants.

We then went to mom’s. I broke the bad news to them before we left for there, that I didn’t find the tank the day before when probing for it. That meant they had to find it and dig it out.

After studying a photo the probing began. Two test holes dug, which were not where X marked the spot. Then voila, they located the cement tank top and then the recessed riser. Mom had them add, but recessed under her lawn years ago. They weren’t a couple inches below the surface though like she though. More like 6 and 10 inches below.

It took just over an hour at her house.   I decided to fix the digging issue, for the next time,”. Inwent to their shop and picked up a set of 12” risers and installed them. A sheet of plywood comes in hand for clean up later.

No photos needed of what was found inside.  Risers added.

I removed the extra dirt, and added grass seed.  Also washed the lids of them to clean them up.  Finished job.

The tamper in the pic below is where I searched yesterday. So close yet so far. Just a few feet off, but I will now know where they are forever.

Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades, and it didn’t help in locating my moms dropped bombs. 😆

The guys finished at Sharon’s at 11:30 but it was a full days job for me. I wrapped up at 4:30. A shower never felt better as it did today. Throw in the scorching temperature, it felt like 92 here today.

Thanks, that's what I did.  I'm feeling better today, still a slight headache but no more fever and aches.

Glad you're feeling better.  It's a small price to pay for being protected.  It really is a great feeling.

Again, another great job you have done for Mom.  You make it sound so easy too.  My luck the new parts wouldnt be the same size or something else go wrong.

Main goal was not to fall in or drop anything in. I held the drill tight and left the tuck keys and phone on the porch. All went well.

She comes home tomorrow from the cottage so she will see my executive decision tomorrow.  I’m not going to mention it, and wait to see how long it takes her to notice.

Even if your mother doesn’t notice, you know all of us here think you are a wonderful son!  (My husband doesn’t read Cruise Critic so I can say that he would have never done this for his mom...😁)

And I meant to compliment you on selecting deck chairs that perfectly match Lucy’s coloring!

It has been raining all night and morning.

We went to church and afterwards had a good chat with our reverend.

We then popped along to get some McDonald's breakfasts, coffee and hot chocolate.

We are now in a little cove near the marina.

Soon I will pop along to the bank then we will go to our beach viewing spot.

Hope you all have a nice day.

For a split second, I read "church" (= Sunday) and "bank" (= open on Sunday???) 😁

Enjoy your day, glad that McDonalds are "back on track" 😉

I hope the weather man is wrong, but the prediction for today is rain, thunderstorms and high winds.

It only happens  to us the day the greenhouse is delivery our 7 yards of mulch.

We used to get 9 yards, but some stupid law got passed in the last 12 months that says a truck can only hall upto 7 yards. Something to due with the EPA.  But we think it is a way to raise more money.

The DH says we will plant our vegetable garden this weekend.

I have been babying this youngins since May 1st, ish. and it is time for them to be planted.

Stay safe

I'm happy to say we finished our mulch.  It is always so overwhelming when they dump that pile of mulch in driveway.  Seems like a never ending pile wheelbarrow after wheelbarrow.  I did most of it myself this year since I didnt want Eric doing it all since he broke his humerus this winter.

I received my burpee order early May and everything is planted and growing nicely.

Hopefully you will have nice weather for memorial day weekend.  Have fun planting and mulching. 🤩

I moved two yards yesterday for our condo.  Not all that much compared to seven yards but humping those wheelbarrows up the ramps to bypass the stairs added an element of effort to the whole thing.
