Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

I hate those excursions that say you are too old to book them.  I have been told it an insurance decision for whatever individual operator Royal is using, and the age limitations are not determined by Royal.  They probably had too many people over a certain age getting injured in some fashion, so insurance carrier would tell them to put an age limit on them.  Of course, it probably doesn’t make much sense, since they have everyone sign a waiver anyhow.  It is just those out-of-shape old people that give us old people, that stay in shape, a bad name.

I would book Summit again in a heartbeat.  I liked that ship.

I guess the old people will have to stick with the Ultimate Extreme Adventure or the Adrenaline Zip-Line Adventure which either have older age limits or no age limits.  LOL

Did anyone hear the story about a newborn baby rescued in the debris from the Earthquakes in Turkey?    Her Mother gave birth during or right after the earthquake as the baby was still connected by umbilical cord but the Mother and Father had passed away.     It's a Miracle he or she is a live.   God Bless this baby🙏

Such an enormous loss of lives and a huge tragedy. The earthquake's magnitude + an extremely cold weather make a very bleak chance of survival.

Israel has already sent a huge delegation of doctors, nurses and heavy equipment, and managed to save 3 lives so far.

We're also experiencing mild earthquakes, 3 and still counting...

I would try Norwegian again just not the Breakaway.  I have heard their older ships are pretty good.

I've never disliked the other NCL ships (well, the smoke from casino on some) but I'll never sail on Breakaway again.

Prayers for Turkey and Syria and for you and your family and fellow countrymen.

I hope you are not harmed by the Earthquakes.

Agree, the BA is not their best ship. Gem, Jewel, Dawn, Escape, Bliss, Joy. Escape is my favorite. Bliss is a close second. Also memorable for me because my firsts were on NCL ships. First to Bermuda, first through Panama Canal, first rogue wave, first worst hurricane.😁

My favorite too.... It's one of the few meals I wish DH could "replicate" at home....

BTW, the wide noodles he experimented with weren't well received. Back to the thin ones 😉

Did someone say shawarma? Bring it on!

We are going to look at Celebrity Summit since it will be sailing from Cape Liberty, but 9 day cruises can be tough workwise for my DH.  That's why I just booked Oasis again, 7 days, Sunday to Sunday works better until he retires, which is still years away.

We booked the 7 day on the Summit to Bermuda for June, before the peanut gallery gets on😄

I need to call and get Captain's Club numbers so I can see the correct pricing.  We typically sail in May for our anniversary, so that is why we grabbed Oasis.  Hopefully, we will do something late summer on Summit.

Captains club numbers won't affect pricing for Celebrity.  They don't offer balcony discounts.  You do get a one category upgrade within the supercategory.  Pay for an E2 infinite veranda and get berthed in an E1

Great, thanks.  That is the part I was trying to understand.

We had a tough first world chocie for Bermuda😁 to make .... Summit or Joy. We had next cruise certificates for both cruiselines. Picked the Summit since I prefer sailing from Bayonne than NYC  and will go on the Escape late summer from Miami. Nothing against NYC...love it, just that the parking is ridiculous at the port and to take the NJ transit train from Princeton....done that many many times, but ehhhh not wanting to lug luggage anymore.

I would much rather sail from NYC. Take AMTRAK to the city then a very short ride to the piers.

Yes, it is so very sad to watch the news videos and hear the tragic loss of far too many.   When I first heard the news today about the baby surviving my first thought was the temperatures and how a newborn survived the frigid temperatures.   Hypothermia and frostbite are serious concerns for many.

I was wondering if your area was also having earthquakes.    Very scary since there is nothing you can do to prepare.     Sending Prayers for All🙏

We like sailing from Bayonne too because it is less than a four hour drive.  Haven't sailed from NYC yet but want to try it at least once.  Parking was one of the considerations which is why we would likely fly, so wouldn't have to deal with car.

Train might be something to consider too!  I haven't taken AMTRAK in a long time.  Will have to check it out.

Bayonne is garage (home) to garage (port)without any transportation involved, in one hour, so works for us.

We have done the train option to NYC pier many times. Just tired of it now. 😉

Just saw it on the news, definitely a miracle baby.

We have been away for the last couple days for some family commitments, missed all the excitement of the Chinese balloon.  It seems it went right over our house, friends and neighbors watched as the F16s circled and eventually shot it down.  Now they are watching the Navy ships off shore.  Thought we lived in a sleepy little winter town.

I love sailing out of New York, hopefully next year I can combine our trip to the city with a cruise . We are sailing Summit again next month for our music charter out of Miami. We splurge for this vacation and book there royal suite, really like it’s suite lounge and restaurant Luminae .

Heading home from a lovely day in Sarasota where my aunt and uncle have a condo just off the causeway.  They took Jim and I and our cousins out to lunch.  My cousin came from Kissimmee, her brother who arrived from Ontario, and a 3rd cousin who recently moved to Ft. Myers from Oklahoma, whom I have not seen since we were kids.  Great day playing catch-up.😍

It is a bit more expensive than Bayonne, but they have adequate parking at the NYC pier. We have done it multiple times. We are much closer than you, however I imagine you are leaving early to drive to NJ, and would need to do the same for NYC.
