@mets07  I was just looking at cruises to Bermuda out of Cape Liberty for 2024;  I didn't see any 9 nights, only 5 nights.🤔

Lovely pictures.  Glad you enjoyed Liberty.  We were on Liberty in February and stayed in our first Jr. Suite, first Aft cabin for us.  Great ship!

Thanks.  I think there are some Liberty 9 nights in May and June 2024 They do one night in Bermuda and then other ports.

The roof is just under 25 yrs old so just normal wear and tear.  We can definitely see some curling of shingles on the garage side.    It was fairly new when we purchased this home in 2001.   I have never heard of insurance covering a roof for the simple fact it is old and needs to be replaced.

Did you have damage to your roof by a storm?

Our house was new when we got it it 1999. It was not damage from a particular storm but the roofer said that there was damage.   Several houses in the neighborhood had the roofs replaced last year.   We had some ceiling leak upstairs that was covered and the front porch.

We had much covered on our previous house too.  A friend suggested to have insurance company look at it, he was an agent.   We did had they found hail damage.   Doesn't hurt to try.

Also when we had to replace our ac on the main floor several years ago we got tax credits for getting a more energy efficient ac.

1st row Brussel sprouts,  2nd broccoli.

Bermuda is on my list but not from NJ. Maybe when there are new itineraries there will be some more to Bermuda.

I told you that you'd end up loving that drip irrigation system!  Plants are soooooo happy with a steady water source right at their roots!

(and Corrie is adorable.... all your grandkids are just so dang cute!)

Another great evening walk along the Columbia river.  We're on the Oregon side of the river.  One more night after tonight and then we head to a lake in WA. near Mt St Helens.

I met my son and his girlfriend for breakfast this morning for an early Mother's Day celebration.

Now that he's out of the Army, my son is growing a goatee (or "chin puff") and he's letting his hair grow out, so he resembles a ginger-haired sheep with curls in his eyes.  (The top was already longer than the sides when he was in the Army, and he hasn't cut it since, so it's a very top-heavy mop.)

Anyway, the waitress looked at him with his reddish curls and looked at me with my reddish curls and said, "he's yours, huh?"  LOL  Not too hard to figure that one out!

I'm really enjoying meeting the kids for breakfast every couple of weeks.  I've gone from seeing my kid twice a year to twice a month.

Happy Mother's Day to all the various moms out there!

Happy to help.  I love all of the interactive art on Q class ships.  Was this on the wall outside of Music Hall?

Thank you so much for your help, Bob.  Yes, it is between the Music Hall and the Royal Theater.

So we decided today just install a new unit.    Opted for a 16 seer 3-ton high efficiency unit that will be installed this coming week.

This expense along with the fact we are going to have a new roof installed (working on estimates this week).     Homeownership is a Joy🙃

We replaced our roof, at what turned out to be the perfect time.  We got some really great quotes, just after the start of the pandemic in 2020.  No one was having work done, so they were glad to get it to keep their roofers busy.

My daughter was looking into a new roof last year, but when there was uncertainty in what would happen to their income when she was off work as she started treatments, they were going to try and postpone the roof.  It wasn’t something that should be put off, so I called the roofer we had, and we bought them a new roof.

Then, this year, we bought them a new furnace.  Not an AC, but still an expense.

So I am quite familiar with those costs of home ownership.

Today, we are taking our daughter and her family to Shakespeare’s Castle for Mother’s Day.

I hope I can find something to eat. 😀. Today’s menu.

@Jimbo sorry to read about your gas stove issues. We don’t have gas here so I don’t have any brand recommendations, but I like you would guess the smaller orifice is the problem. Good luck with picking the new unit.

Sorry to hear you are having all of these troubles with the new stove.     I wish appliances actually worked in the store when viewing them.   Good job on winning the battle for a refund!!

I am not familiar with Thor or Kutch but wish you best in getting a replacement you are happy with.

I have been using a GE. Nothing in the fancy gourmet series but the basic gas range. It has given good service.

So nice! I love high tea! I see scones and clotted cream...yummmm! The finger sandwiches look delishhhhhhhhhhh.
Every time I go to Bermuda I try to get to the High Tea in St George but lately they have been charging an arm and a leg, so I am not patronizing that establishment.

I'm not so sure how you pick everything in that garden with the place so close in such a confined area..........Those  2 Watermelon plants alone take up a lot of space if they grow right.

Those pepper plants are super close together.

I think you might need a drone to go in there and pick the vegetables for you so not to damage the plants when picking. 😉

Everything looks good and green though ! You are off to a great start.

We are going for the industrial/commercial look so I don't think GE really makes those.

I think right now we are leaning toward the Kucht  Brand, saw one on Overstock.com that has a great price and the look we like. Told it also doesn't have a cooling fan to omit all that hot air into the kitchen when using the oven.

Kucht's warranty in the best in this field also. 4 year warranty which includes Parts and Labor. You don't see other brands giving that long of  a warranty and most just include parts and not labor.  So I'm hoping that means they have a good product which doesn't have as many issues as other brands.
