You do understand that general anesthesia is inherently far more dangerous than local, right? Personally, I would never have general anesthesia anywhere where someone skilled in intubation was not readily available.

That is not how it works in a dentist's office.

I was not intubated.

We went to a few Billy Joel concerts all were excellent. We no longer go to concerts in 20,000 seat arenas , we were spoiled we had access to private suite for years.

One of my favorite Billy Joel concert what his tour with Elton John. I think it was called "Face to Face, Battle of the Pianos".

On traveling while wearing a dress…let’s just say that in certain parts of the world (think China in the 1980s…) it’s a lot easier to use some “restrooms” if you are wearing a dress.  Trying to crouch without losing your balance whilst trying to keep your pants from touching the floor…very tricky.

That situation happened to me in a public restroom in Florence, Italy. I could not figure out a way to hover without falling over (and there were no handrails), and I eventually gave up and just had to hold it.

As far as wearing a dress when traveling, that's a hard no, considering the thigh chafing that would occur... especially in hot weather.

I saw them "face to face" on a late night talk show a few years ago.  Probably was a promotional bit for that tour.  Elton's voice didn't seem to be what it used to be.  He had to change how he sung some of the lyrics, often avoiding the high notes.  I've watched a few videos of the U2 kickoff concert in the Sphere in Vegas last night and Bono's voice also didn't seem quite the same.  I'm hoping that's not the case with Billy Joel.  Father time is undefeated though.

I'd be one unhappy sailor if the wanted to take mine.😡

In hindsight I am unhappy about that, but at the time I just wanted off THAT SHIP ! The whole process of getting off the ship was terrible.

Having us drag our bags to the forward elevators with no help when they know we aren't feeling well. Then dumping us outside on deck 2 with pretty much not telling where the opening is to get to the pick up area with uber's and taxi's pickup is.

When we were on the road we also had to cross over where tractor trailers where driving in to bring provisions for the next cruise, so you had to be careful or they would run you over. No one there either from Royal to stop the traffic.

Would have be closer for us once out on the road to walk to the "Tear Drop" then it was where we had to drag our bags to to get picked up.

More on my long dental saga.  Yesterday I returned to be put under to get those two pesky teeth pulled.  Anesthesia worked great.   At the end, I was "lucid" enough to ask if he got both out and he said a resounding YES, patted my shoulder and went out to talk to Jack.  I never felt loopy coming out of the anesthesia.   Doc prescribed a pain killer but told me I won't need it.  He was right!

He told me during our consultation that I would be pain free for 72 hours after extraction given what he used to sedate me.  He assured me that only 10% of his patients take a pain killer, usually OTC.

AND he included a full bottle of Moscato in my goodie bag of post extraction instructions, gauze, etc.  I previously mentioned to him that I would love to be home sipping a chilled glass of Moscato.  His staff is caring and removed the anxiety I felt.

@George C George, you wanted his info.

Dr. Michael Ray - Corner of Independence and Spring Creek in Plano

https://www.northtexasoralsurgery.com/contact/

Luckily, he's in network with our dental plan.

I don't know why the numbing injection didn't work well on Thursday, but if you always are put out that wouldn't be an issue for you.  His phone call that evening at 7 was greatly appreciated. For previous medical procedures, I was called by the office staff to follow up but never the actual doctor and never beyond regular office hours.

If you call, tell him Jack and Bonnie (the talkative Moscato lady) sends regards.

OMG just as I sent this post, Dr. Ray called to see how I am doing.  On a Saturday yet!!  Grateful for editing feature.

I am thankful that it went so good for you!  It sounds like a really good and thoughtful doctor!

Haven't tried it yet but I got a new product from megababe called thigh rescue, supposedly stops chafing.  Agree its definitely a hot weather issue.  I have started wearing more dresses living by the beach, much more airy and comfy.

@dani negreanu. 🙏

Much easier while using the  restroom on the airplane, also.  Just saying...

We have never had our cruise card taken from us in 64 cruises since 2003.

Once we had are cards taken this was fairly recently, on Edge some waitress took are cards then when she returned them they gave Shelagh the wrong card back . I have done 75 or so cruises starting in mid 1970’s .

Yesterday was Micheline's birthday.  I surprised her with the Billy Joel tickets that I mentioned previously and she loved it.  We need to also pick a Broadway show to see while there.  Any recommendations for something that's relatively new?  We've seen Hamilton, Lion King, Alladin, and Chicago.  I've heard good things about The Book of Mormon.

I asked where she wanted to go to dinner and she decided that she wanted us to make homemade pasta instead of going out.  As we started preparing for dinner, we told Alexa to play Billy Joel music.  It's amazing 1) how many songs he has and 2) how you know the words to almost all of the songs.

We started with a Caprese Salad appetizer.  The Buffalo Mozzarella was fantastic.

We can get Italian 00 flour in our local grocery store and I think it makes a big difference.  We're too lazy to make it by hand though and use a food processor instead.

The final product, with a homemade sauce, Caesar salad, garlic bread, and some Valpolicella before/during/after the meal.  It was excellent.  No worries about twirling/splaching since we were at home.😁 Mangia!

Happy Birthday to Micheline.  Love the all these dishes you prepared together.  Another vote for Book of Mormon.

How lovely!  Our daughters gifted us with a Dinner Cruise around Manhattan years ago.  I don't remember our boat having entertainment onboard, though!  Very nice! Love your pictures🥰

Thanks and how lovely.  I love cruising around Manhattan.  We’ve done the sunset cruise but we preferred cruising at night.  The city lights are so pretty.  We did the cocoa and carols cruise at Christmas - that was fun.  One day I would like to do the Architectural  cruise that cruises around the whole island.

And here. We are going to put up the Christmas lights this weekend (and leave them off until Advent starts). We have put them up during a snowstorm, which really doesn’t have much to recommend it!

🤯

I was at Costco the other day and it was full on Christmas. That is to soon

+ 1 @dani negreanu  and how is your cousin doing?

6 minutes ago, BonTexasNY said:

@dani negreanu Dani, I'm asking also and hope she's doing well.

Thank you for remembering. Olivia is doing baby steps, turns out it was quite a long surgery, with a huge cut on her back. She usually sleeps on her back, so now that's out of question. Pain meds.

Grateful for all your prayers, which I relayed, and that it was caught "in the nick of the time".
