Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Recommended Posts

Tonight’s dinner was at The Pirate’s Voyage dinner show.  I didn’t realize this was owned by Dolly Parton.  Very good show, and the kids really enjoyed it.  A few pictures from the show.

Some of the acrobatics and diving reminded me of the Aquatheater shows.

Of course, a show isn’t complete unless you get some weapons for the new pirates.

Thank you. I remember reading about both restaurants in past trip reports. I haven't really researched the area much yet but will be doing that in the next 21-22 days. I basically booked the hotel as it was close to the port & I needed to keep my Marriott status active.

If you go to Grills and if they have it get a he Shark Bites. Amazing!!!!

Sue & Gary, enjoy your long awaited part of the world cruise 😘.

Some musings and pics will be greatly appreciated 😎

Ah thank you Dani, I don't have any Internet except for our diamond free days. I'll try and post pics if we get Internet in port.  Here's a couple from the roof of the Barcelona cathedral.

If you zoom in you can see Sagrada Familia in the middle distance

Looking towards the port, theres a cruise ship is in the right hand corner.  Not sure if it's Serenade as she came in yesterday

I bet you will love the S24 Ultra!  I have the S21 Ultra and love it.  When I got it I told people I got a new camera with phone function. 😆

I'm still waiting on the phones with a point and shot camera where the pictures come out perfect every time day or night. Guess that will never happen so I really need to spend some time to learn about the functions. 🥴

The sad part about this picture is that in 24 days it will already be August. Summer goes by so fast.

Summer doesn't go by fast enough for me. 🥵

The daylight is already getting shorter & I've already seen my first back to school sale.  Pretty soon we will be feeling the crisp, cool autumn air.

Yeah, I'm a lot of fun at parties. 🤣🤣

I have also noticed that we are losing daylight. For me the school district, including its  sports program, start ramping up around the middle of August so that is when my free time becomes much more limited.

We decided to try something new last night with our grill...pizza.  Our grill can get pretty hot...up to almost 700F with all burners firing...so we thought it would make a good pizza oven.  We have a good pizza stone and a peel, so we were all set.  Since this was our first attempt, we (close your ears OB) purchased a pizza dough ball and some sauce in a jar.  We'll make our own dough and sauce in future attempts.

Information that we had read on the Internet was conflicting, including some saying that you should bake the base for a couple of minutes on each side, remove and add toppings, then put bake on the grill for finishing.  We decided to add all toppings directly to the stretched dough while sitting on the peel, and then put the whole thing on the pre-heated stone, at about 500F.  We rotated it a few times and removed it at 10 minutes thinking that it looked done.  After cutting into it, the dough wasn't quite cooked, so we put it back on for another 5 minutes.  The taste was good, but the dough was tough/overcooked.  Not sure if we left it on the grill too long, or if homemade dough would have been better.  I'd say it was about on par with Sorrento's in the early evening (as opposed to late evening Sorrento's which tastes better 😁).  Good enough to satisfy our hunger but not particularly great.

Is anyone here a pizza expert who can suggest what we should do differently next time?  We're thinking about buying one of these Napoleon Pizza Stainless Steel Oven Topper For Gas Grills - 71200 | BBQGrills.com

Pepperoni and mushroom ready to cook.

Looks amazing.

We woke to sound of rain on the roof, from the remnants of Hurricane Beryl passing over us.  2" of rain so far, cooler temps, with slight to moderate winds.  We needed the rain, and the temperature drop is nice after these last couple of hot weeks.

Same here in SE Michigan!  Golf league cancelled this morning, which is a bummer since we didn't play last week.  Oh well, now I will forced to actually do some household chores 😞,

So we were on our way back from our dinner show, and Susan was playing the alphabet game with our granddaughter.

They must have been up to the letter “K”, when our Uber driver passed this store.

Susan said “Oh look, there is a K.  Badd Kitty”.  Then, as we get closer she says “Oooooooh, no, don’t look”

I will leave you to imagine what was on display in the window.

There are more than 1 of those stores in the area so watch out.  Glad to hear you enjoyed the pirate show, it's definitely one of the better in the area.

It took me awhile but finally caught up on all the posts from last Thursday. It's been a very active thread!

@Ozark_Kid Thank you for updating us on your journey.  I can only echo what everyone else has already said.  Your outlook, attitude & love of family is truly inspirational.

My 5 days in the Finger Lakes was busy but exhausting. My brother-in-law is a fantastic cook so I ate well. The wineries & craft breweries are plentiful so I drank well. In between,  there was swimming, sailing & kayaking.  And family fun time.  While i was traveling on the 4th, i did get to see fireworks on Friday the 5th over the lake.Oh, and BIL also has a new puppy,  the cutest little pug you ever did see.

I'm pretty sure I had posted pictures from my previous Finger Lakes trips but after awhile, all the lakes and vineyards begin to look the same. So instead, I'll post some pictures of bathroom signs.

For the baseball enthusiast.

For our inner child.

And my personal favorite, from the bathroom door.

Here's one from our club house, laugh every tIme.
