Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

I have been so busy at work since the return of our cruise on April 2nd that I decided to call Royal and book another cruise today.     We used Eric's casino comp and booked a JS for Anthem 11 night sailing on Jan 18, 2024.

Asked about casino rate to upgrade to a GS but it was way too much.   Maybe we will try a royal up bid next December.

It was a toss between this sailing or a 12 night sailing on Vision OTS in December which has a better itinerary but I like to unwind and relax on a cruise after the Holidays instead of being away for 2 weeks before Christmas then feeling rushed to get ready.

You made the right choice, Vision is a very old ship.....

After a blood test my Dr. advised me to take B12.  Since I take a couple of other meds every morning I put it in my pill organizer so I don't forget.  It really made a big difference in my energy levels.

That's a great idea!!

Because your dog said so?

I'd like to see Lauren go. I think she is a w(b)itch.

My granddog believes that Yam Yam will win Season 44.He is a very intelligent dog.I am willing to make any kind of wager that anyone may be interested in

From the start I was rooting for Danny and Brendon and I added Heidi.I am not a fan of Yam Yam.

I will most likely try out just about every bar on Wonder.  Except for the Bionic bar.  The novelty has already worn off 😉

I somewhat end up at specific bars depending on the type of drinks I'm looking for, but after a while, once I've narrowed down my favourite bartenders, I mostly go back to my preferred classics and end up the same few bars over and over.

dp

We are the same.  When we find great bartender(s) we will go there.

On our December cruise we found a great trio of bartenders at Vintages but when we went back in March we found out all 3 were on their holiday.   New crew was blah

But then I found my favorite bartender that used to be in casino, then pool deck bar was now in Schooners.   Was thrilled to see him as he was to see us.

I told my work colleagues on Wednesday that my intermittent coughing was due to the gorgeous fluffy kitty that I have been cat sitting and who has been curled up on my lap every night after dinner.

This gorgeous kitty sheds a lot of fur so I assumed it had caused my allergies to flare but I felt worse overnight so did the test on Thursday morning.

It wasn’t kitty at all, I have Covid for the first time.

So my cruising friends on the Ovation have missed two ports (port authority closed them due to weather) one has developed a chest infection, have not got on with their travelling companions and now their favourite cat sitter is Covid positive…fortunately I had contact details for their  friends who are feeding kitty for the next two nights.

Sorry to hear that you have Covid.Hopefully you will get better soon.

Glad we didn't pick Vision.  Sorry you had a lousy cruise.

We did a Mexican Rivera Cruise on Vision...........we were 1 engine away from being towed back to Port.

Traveling 6 days @ half power is no fun with missed ports and no compensation. "Shipp" happens I guess.

We would never go on that ship again no matter the the price or even if it was the 1st cruise ship to go to the Moon!

Took our Max for a walk last weekend and this tiny terrier raced across the road and went beserk at Max.  Max was on a leash, the tiny terror was not.  Owners called him back, only for the terrier to race back over the road again.  I walked into a tree limb trying to get Max away from this dog.

It is bizarre... It is even more bizarre taking into account that until 1982 the airline was flying 7 days a week.

But, in 1982, the ultra religious party got the upper hand... and the airline started to keep the Shabbat/Saturday (Shabbat starts with sundown on Friday until sundown on Saturday, but since there is also no public transportation, people who work need to get home a lot earlier than sundown, same with arriving to work, they have to wait until public transportation starts again, usually at least 2 hours after sundown...).

One of the reasons people need to have cars is to be able to visit family/friends during the Shabbat....

I never said we're a "normal" country in so many counts 😢

Oh, I just remembered that I went to the supermarket to complete some missing items, and one of them was soya sauce. The condiments' shelves was partially covered with a sheet, I moved the sheet a bit and took the soya bottle.

When I got to the cashier, she told me that I cannot buy it, since it is not Passover approved/kosher, and the bar code was blocked from accepting payment for this [and other not Passover approved] items....

I rest my case.

Dani - I am sorry you have to deal with this.  You posts do educate us on restrictions in Israel that we are simply not aware of.

Your bedspread is beautiful.  Diana too😃

Thanks!  That’s Minnie on the bed.  We have two twin duvets as DH is a cover thief.  Our previous duvets had more overall patterns…this current one is a pain to make up in the mornings!  To get the two duvets’ to match up perfectly requires a lot of adjusting on one side…readjusting on the other side…again and again…. But it’s important to me to be able to look at it and be very happy with it!

As opposed to Diana who napped in the spot her ottoman used to be (away being recovered,) Minnie just stretched out on our bed.  Well, she’s part of the “our.”

Yes, some folks keep their homes much neater than ours. Something I should probably aspire to. Everyone seems to move their homes much faster than we do. I am going to have to work harder. The snow has finally melted at the other house. Plus, others are moving to empty houses. And I think that would be a lot easier. 😏 We still have to clear stuff out of there and take the cat. Off topic, sorry.

We actually like Vision. We had another 12-night cruise that was booked under double points that was cancelled. Prior to that, on a previous cruise we had sewage/water flooding in the bathroom, twice. But they cleaned it very, very well and gave us $200 OBC and a 15% FCC. We like the ship, it's fine. We liked Majesty & Monarch too. If all you mostly do is read on a cruise, it doesn't really matter which ship you are on. ☺️

Too much sauce.  Cook em dry, then dip in your sauce, the rub is king.  Sauce is not.

JMHO and yMMV

And I forgot to mention something about our Serenade cruises. I like to sit on the pool deck and read. Around sunset, on week 2 on our way to the Bahamas, a very magical thing happened.

A pod of 8 dolphins were surfing the wake and leaping out of the water, chasing the ship, right next to the side. Just for fun and flying fish. It was incredible, and they did it for about 10 minutes. I had my phone, but it wasn't turned on. I was more interested in watching them, than taking photos.

Memories of ocean life like this are just amazing! And I don't think you have it so much on the larger ships. And that's fine. It would just be a different sort of vacation. ☺️
