CL/SL future when cruising returns.

Correct.  That change happened in December.  I believe it started the sailing after we disembarked, so December 8th, 2019.

I’m sure by the time we return to sailing it will have a new name. 😇

Maybe all the complaining about the CL will burn itself out by the time we return to cruising. And with all the L&S, D+ can’t say they didn’t know.

Peace

Oh...so YOU'RE the one that took her away.   😄

Oh well, they gave us Oasis...fair trade. 😉

Well, they stole the ship from me and sent it to San Juan. I wasn't happy.

Right before. It was due to excessive numbers of D+.

But they gave them a coffee, so pretty good trade in my book

I have pictures of guest in swim attire in the SL/CK. I also have seen guest in robes in the SL fetching a beer at 11.

I would fear for my families life.   A P told my wife that my 1.5 year old wasn't dressed appropriately once.  Rumor has it if the dress code violation is serious enough that the SL turns into a make shift court room.  Top ranking P member becomes judge, and other P will sit in as jury members.  D+ peasants are summoned to serve refreshments to P members during court processions.  IF found guilty a plank folds down outside the SL and the rest is history.

All joking aside - I would never wear swim attire in there even for breakfast let alone lunch .

The robe was beginning of what would be HH. Maybe is was a cocktail to dress by. The bathing suits were also during afternoon.

I got chastised for posting the pictures last time.

Thanks!  Figured as much with Freedom, just too lazy to pull up deck plans.  😉  Will check them both out in January (maybe?)

I just didn't like the way the SL on Mariner was one long bowling alley like shape.  Seemed more conducive to conversations the way the chairs and tables were set up in the DL.

But that's just me.

Thought it was interesting with having the "two pers" along the window wall in the SL facing out.  Found the outside area a bit noisy with the climbing wall, etc. out there.

We were on Freedom in June 2017 and the CL was there then.

We met the concierge there and took the short walk to the bridge to do the bridge tour.

Ok. I went back at looked at my pictures from Allure January 2017. The bathing suits were during what would be HH in SL/CK. It happened more than one evening. It wasn’t a guest in a robe but looked to be pajamas. It was also during HH. I still guess it was to grab a drink to dress with.

I’m ok with it as long as they don’t get the seats wet. I could care less what they wear into the SL. I assume they were on Deck 17 and just grabbed a drink to take back to the cabin. I mean, it is called the Suite Lounge.

We did a B2B on the Freedom March 2019.  Walked in the CL once on the first leg to check it out. Decided the DL was where we would enjoy a couple C&A HH drinks and snacks before going to diner for both legs. Shortly after that cruise cloud nine and seven hearts was converted into the SL and the CL became (5 I believe) inside cabins.

Freedom was amped right before Covid. Only got one sail in, and they weren't even allowed to return to SJ is my recollection

The only time we went into that CL was before our bridge tour and we also thought the DL was much better than the dingy CL.

Concierge escort?  That's different.  We have always met near the elevators on bridge deck for the tours.  Had to sign in and get "the frisk".  😮

We were on Freedom in 2017. The DL was for Pinnacles only and the area outside for D+. The Diamonds were down in the lower decks. I forget the lounge but is was nice. We were mostly in the CL and temporary D Lounge. D+ were still permitted in CL. On this cruise, some of the D+ were complaining about not having access to the DL (Pinnacle Lounge this cruise) so I guess it never ends. There were like 33 Pins on this cruise. There were several events that were Pinnacle and Suites only and some just for Pinnacles. We “heard” that many D+ were complaining that they were excluded from the DL and the Pinnacles this cruise. So I guess it’s a never ending thing. Once they convert all the CL’s to SL’s, maybe Royal should just eliminate the D+ level and keep the point awards until they reach Pinnacle.

Pinnacle meaning - the highest point of achievement.

Living near the port in PC, Freedom was our choice for 7 night cruises.  Spent a lot of great times on that ship, looking forward to seeing her again.  Missed her when she left us.

Love that class of ships.

You are correct.  Even a few weeks before that.  That's one of the reasons loss of the CL hit us so hard.  it was especially difficult because we've been on Anthem a number of times and the CL was never crowded.

It's a weird configuration with those inside cabins where the CL was on Mariner.  Little mini hallway brings you into the four inside cabins.  If the cruise still goes, and we are allowed into PR...will check it out on Freedom in January.  But that's a big "if".  😮

Spent some great times in the CL on Freedom after dinner, but indeed loved the DL better with more room and big floor to ceiling windows.  🙂  Still though ...I most fondly remember the "Diamond Event" on Freedom when they held it in the Pharaoh's Lounge.

See my comment above. My recommendation is once all the CL’s become SL’s, delete the D+ level altogether. Keep the points and perks that go with it. You may keep your D+ pin. From Diamond to Pinnacle. I think this would work.

There was only about 10 of us.

Security checked us over then we went through a door with the concierge and into the bridge area.

The tour only lasted around 20 minutes.

That's about the size we usually have...maybe up to 15.  They do a nice job of the tour.  🙂   Oasis class bridge is the real eye opener!

The old CL on Freedom was very nice if staying in a Suite as it was just around the corner. It was easy for me to jump out and get the boss her coffee in the morning.
