Volcano on St Vincent is now code Red and apparently RCL has sent a ship to help evacuate

from Bequia looking to kingstown St Vincent . Lots of ash in the air. The big thing is going to be clean water. Everyone is filling barrels with water. No cdc here. Vaccine not needed to evacuate.Kingstown is not in the red zone. The volcano is about a 1 1/2  hour drive from kingstown.

Whatever.. Serenade of the Seas is now docked at Kingstown

with Celebrity Reflection not far offshore.

Carnival Paradise stands by, a bit further out there.

 

Here in Barbados, we might get an ash-fall later (as usually happens)

but who knows which way the upper level winds will take it!

Only those who have been vaccinated.  What about children who aren't even eligible?  Hope they will not be excluded.

Thanks for the video and please stay safe. I have heard that the ash can cause respiratory problems.

Funny you should mention moving relief supplies in
because while I was standing there making the movie seen above

I noticed the RSS plane coming back in -presumably from St. Vincent.

 

A lot of the ash is high up 30-40,000 ft?

(but must fall back to earth some time, some place)

As long as they stay low, they'll likely avoid most of it, if not all -
depending on what direction they make their approach to the island.

That would be my guess, but I'm no expert on the matter.

 

I know the Regional Security System fly-boys

are "creative aviators" shall we say ....and I've heard a few stories

- they'll figure it out, they'll find windows of opportunity

to sneak in and back out again.

 

They fly METROs

like this one, just finished vaccine distribution duties down the islands.

Serenade has been docked there since early morning.  I wonder why she didnt leave.

Their pier isn't large enough for more than one ship. Wonder why Serenade is still there? Maybe not that many people got on?

and is now pointed in a direction

Did you notice if Reflection and the two Carnival ships have received any passengers yet? I notice that Serenade did not depart until around 10pm... I assume ash fall might have impacted speed of loading passengers...perhaps covid vaccine issues as well....  but I did not notice the other ships docking.. they could have picked up passengers using tenders...so that is possible
