Props to Celebrity.

Our friends booked thru Expedia who really screwed things up (somehow booked 4 adults in 1 room—they KNOW they booked 2 rooms!)

expedia finally got YA sons moved to Interior…& knowing what they paid they got screwed on price.

Visiting with crew about it, our friends got a call from an officer offering to move the boys to an IV.

Boys didn’t want to be bothered with moving but impressed Cele Rory tried to make it right!.

Set time dining is assigned 1 dining room.

Anytime may got to any dining room.

BUT you may order from ANY menu in any restaurant—so if u want something off the Tuscan menu but Cyprus is your restaurant, just ask.

Thank you for the reply and explanation.

But martini bar had lots of live music which we loved along with live music in Eden. I regret not making it to magic carpet. How would you compare Edge dinning to normal celebrity mdr? We just did specialty and Luminae.

Disclaimer:  I sailed Edge back in December 2019…things may have changed.  But we LOVED the 4 MDR concept on Edge!  Lovely more intimate spaces, beautifully decorated…feeling much more like a specialty restaurant than a cavernous MDR.  And the ability in any of them to order from Celebrity’s regular changing daily menu or the specific menus from any of the 4 MDRs means you have many many more choices.

We sailed Edge Feb 2020 as our Lady cruise. We totally agree with you and your  opinion. In fact,  we are going back on Edge Sept 2021.

Stay Safe!

We were in there. She was incredibly kind, even with the bloggers. 🤣

I’m the one who asked Kate to open the bottle, my buddy and the bloggers were originally going to be present but all chickened out at the last second.  I’m not a blogger but am a fan of both of them (Don called me a fan boy 🤣) No one thought she’d open it (including my GF who isn’t on board) so I had to do it solo.  GF was impressed she both opened the bottle and poured it for me (I wasn’t expecting that); super awesome of her.  Kate also said  “this is a first!”, I offered her a flute but as expected she declined.  Been the highlight of the cruise.

I was referring to the MDRs—ie you can order from the Tuscan specialty menu when dining in Cyprus.

So NOT useless info, but actually quite useful.

Yes, QUITE  useful if you are eating in the MDRs.  I am sorry if you misunderstood what I was trying to say and if you took offense at me saying it was useless information.  It's only useless info to the folks dining in Luminae......definitely NOT useless info to the folks dining in the MDRs.  I believe graphicguy is assigned to Luminae as he is in a suite.  Again, sorry if you took offense to my post.

@KKB...Again, thanks for the updates.

Couple of questions, as now I'm jonesing to be on board with you guys.......

1.  Any ideas on the number of passengers on board?

2.  Did the internet speeds ever get better?

Not now, but if you remember and you get a chance, do you have any advice on ports and the excursions which you enjoyed/ might be fun?

Everyone seemed very nice! I didn’t know any of the bloggers in question, so I can’t be a critic or a fanperson. We just were touched by her genuine kindness to every person who she talked to.

I think we saw you with lots of flutes! Was the champagne good?

The captain came on about n1:30 saying there was a passenger with covid symptoms who tested positive.  The passenger was isolated and contact tracing was performed.  None of the contacts tested positive.  Sorry this was on our cruise but the protocols  working as designed.  The staff onboard are quite awesome.

1. Not sure, if I bump into any officers I’ll ask

2. Embarkation day it was very slow, day 1 from like 7am-1 or 2pm, it was unusable, 95% or the time pages wouldn’t load.  Then magically things got better or 1 or 2pm and it’s been good (for basic tasks) ever since  I’m not staying in a suite, i overhead a pax say many were complaining to LLP (who’s on our sailing) in the retreat about the internet speed, and like magic its okay.

ha ha…I had 5 flutes, two for bloggers who were Don and Tony, my buddy, Kate and myself.  There was a bit of confusion because as we were next to meet Kate, my buddy jumped out of line, then Tony, then Don, I let others behind me jump ahead and I’m like are all three of you guys sure you don’t want to be a part of this?  Tony and Don said they didn’t think she’d open it.  When I was next, Kate declined the glass/flute before I even got to her (as expected).

Bubbly was great!  It was a bottle of Dom, we had a le petite reservation at 830 so the timing worked out but here I am carrying an open bottle of Dom around the ship, got lots of looks…ha ha

I mean, it’s your vacation! They were probably just sad that they didn’t have their own. 🤣

Thanks!  Looks like they’re slowly creeping up on passengers.   Two weeks ago, there was 900 crew, but more were on boarding every week.

In case anyone was interested in the Chef’s table experience on the Edge we thought we would post how it went for us.  Sorry not to have pictures of the food as the other 6 people were so much fun we  enjoyed visiting and didn’t take you any food porn. Lol.

We had to get ready for our 5:45 dinner rather early, but the meal and wine pairings were fantastic:

We began with sparkling wine with lobster and cantaloupe amuse bouche in Café al Bacio on Deck 4.  The head chef introduced the evening, but the noise from the Grand Atrium was so loud that he could not be heard.  The eight of us then went up to Deck 5 to the tasting room at Fine Cuts where the spectacular five course meal began.

We started with curried cauliflower soup with saffron and apples accompanied by a Gavi dei Gavi, La Scolca Bianco Secco. All the wines paired so beautifully with the food that we were so happy we sprang for the wine pairing.  We never could have chosen as perfect of wines on our own.

This was followed with mushroom risotto persillade with aged parmesan accompanied by Les Tuilieres Sincerre 2018.  The persillade was a parsley foam.  It was amazing!

The fish course was sea bass with Za’atar with fennel, sweet pepper, lemon tomato vinaigrette accompanied with Gran Moraine Yamhill’Carlton Oregon Chardonnay 2014.

The main course was a duo of beef filet and short rib with root vegetable boulangere and mushroom-red wine sauce accompanied by Freemark Abbey Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley 2016.

All of this was followed by a dessert of Java Grand Cru Cacao, Sumatra Coffee Cremeux with licorice Gelato accompanied with Blandy’s Madeira 15 year old Malmsey.  I am not sure we ever needed to eat again.  It  was that perfect.

All this wound up about 8:45 but we lingered over another glass of the Cabernet before leaving for a stroll through the jewelry stores on the way to Eden where we listened to the jazz band for an hour or so before heading off to bed a little before 11:00.  It was a brilliant evening.

From an Activities staff member

, 1559 passengers.

For regular surfing, email, social media, it’s been fine. Uploading photos takes to long so not bothering.
