We arrived at B93 at 0950; dropped off luggage with porters; inside showed vax & test & got wristband; upstairs to check-in (Medallion & passports); in Elite lounge (bottled water) at 1005. Smooth process & waiting for shuttles to begin.

@Astro FlyerAre the medallions issued @ check-in at the pier or mailed ? It's been a few years since my last Princess cruise. Thank you in advance & Bon Voyage!

Excited to see that it is going smoothly.  We will be embarking on the 10th so will be excited to read all your comments.  Glad to know they will be using the Elite lounge and assume you will be first on the shuttles.  Bon voyage.

Medallions can be mailed upon request in the Medallion app. We got our two weeks before cruise. I assume one can get at port if not ordered on the app. You can also purchase medallion accessories in the app.

Thanks for taking the time to post. It’s really appreciated as I know getting on and exploring  the new ship is so much more exciting than posting. Lol

After you are all checked in do you have the option to take a Lyft to the ship?  Or to walk (I believe it’s 2.5 miles).

If you are required to take the shuttle are folks required to mask?

Are the masks 95 type, surgical or cloth (if mixed what seems to be the most prevalent)?

Do people keep the masks properly over both nose and mouth the entire time on the shuttle?

Thanks again.

MedallionNet lost my first post so trying using T-Mobile.

It took us about 80 minutes from B93 arrival to the ship. I didn’t see many buses & that slowed down our experience. A couple who just boarded

said it took them 2.5 hours from arriving later at B93.

I would recommend arriving before 1000 to have a faster boarding process. Based on our experiences they need more buses & to give group cards for each Captain’s Circle level. Leaving the elite area it was backed up with 15 minute waits to walk to the buses. No luggage 4.5 hours after dropping off at B93 & see few bags in the hallways.

Hopefully each subsequent boarding will go smoother. 🤞

Great crew & beautiful ship & ate lunch in MDR. Requested Winemakers Dinner but it’s unlikely to be on this cruise due to low inventory of wine.

Having been on Sky not much new for us to explore. 😉

Buses are on the upper check-in level not usually used & is only for their buses. I only saw people being directed to buses so doubt if they are allowing Lyft/Uber/taxi transportation or walking.

Masks required in terminal, in bus & boarding with most wearing KN95 like the ones we brought with us. Onboard would estimate it’s about 50/50 & most are properly worn but don’t know what type Princess provides.

After the overcast cleared it’s a warm & beautiful day in San Pedro…here’s our obstructed view balcony on Emerald deck with the Doubletree in the background.

A compete elite minibar on arrival…quickly swapped for 10 Diet Cokes & 10 Peroni beers. 🍺

UGH…the CC app invented my photo. 😳

How can they have low inventory of wine?  they're in California!

@Astro Flyerthank you so much for that great information. I really appreciate it. And are you serious……whaaaaaaaat????!!? Low inventory of wine?  Please keep us informed on that. I really don’t drink cocktails but do love my white wine. Pictures of the wine menus would be greatly appreciated.  I will be sure to bring my own if I must but I have the Plus pkg so would like to drink what they have.
I am so excited for all of you on this sailing.

I'm also wondering why they have a low supply of wine ... hopefully, they will be getting more when we board towards the end of next month.

Didn't a number the Princess employees just get invited for a two day run?  Maybe after everything they've endured, they drank all the wine.  JK!

So, I know everyone is getting accustomed to the ship but if in the upcoming days, can someone onboard check these things out for me?  Thanks in advance ...

I know there is no Vines on this ship.  Is the Gastro Pub or Crooners a better replacement for Vines.  Do they sell wine flights onboard and if so, where?  Also, Vines had tapas.  Is there any place on the Discovery that has the same?

Can someone check to see where the smoking sections are?  On the Ruby, they were on the port side up top.  I understand they may be on the starboard side on the Royal class ships.  We are in a balcony just above Slice Pizza on the Sun deck on the port side and I just want to make sure I'm going to be able to use my balcony without a lot of smokers right on the other side of the cabin.

On a similar note, is there a decent non-smoking section in the casino?

I noticed this morning that masks were once again required on the Ruby as of 2 days ago.  Is that fleetwide or just because of some CoVid cases identified?

BTW, I understand that Aileen and Sticks will be performing onboard.  Can someone let me know the venue in which they are playing?

Again, thanks in advance.  Bon voyage to all onboard!!

Don't forget that the travel agents were on for a test ride just prior to the official inaugural cruise.  They probably needed the wine after the last two years!
