Equinox Revolution

Yes indeed the refurb started yesterday - the pool deck was cleared of all chairs Friday night and workers were busy working on the pool deck before we debarked on Saturday morning.

We were on the Equinox last summer and, even as a not-brand-new ship, it was beautiful and far better appointed, in terms of beauty and overall practicality, than the new Edge.  We loved our cabin on the Equinox.  It had the most storage we have ever had, and everything was extremely well-maintained.

This ship does not need extensive refurbishing.  Though it is unfortunate that the time for the work may have to be shortened, and that some of planned revolution may be revised, it would be hard to believe that anyone booked on the Equinox will find anything at all disappointing about this outstanding and gorgeous ship.

What didn’t you like about the Edge about beauty and practicality on your preview to maiden journey?  Much has changed on Edge since then.

This is great news for us! I've never been on a cruise and we booked a sky suite for our honeymoon on the equinox in November 🙂

Another example of beauty is in the eye of the beholder.  The Edge didn't suit the tastes needs of this person, why challenge them.  I'm sure you're aware of the long list of features on the Edge that are not viewed as practical on the Edge.  The list includes but is not limited to:  Poor IV balcony design, lack of any light blocking feature on the bi-fold doors, poor furniture design, lack of shade on the pool deck, no forward facing common areas for non-suite guests, etc.  But I'm sure you are aware of these issues that have been reported by many passengers and none of these issues have been addressed.   The Edge suits your needs and tastes, that's great, but please don't discount the opinions of many other cruise passengers.

We liked the Edge; we simply found the Equinox more to our liking.

Preview cruises of new ships often garner feedback to make improvements.  Celebrity, no doubt, did that.

We liked EDGE and are going back on her,  but look forward to the renovated Equinox and Silhouette.  Hoping they will be refreshed and not lose too much of their former public spaces and include shade at the Sunset Bar.

Much will depend on pricing and reviews  for AQ Class versus Concierge Class which now includes nice perks, and ongoing reviews for BLU  which have not been stellar recently.

We are also interested in the type of dining experiences that  will be  offered...The Le Petit Chef cartoon dinner is not of interest...nor is sushi. Wish they would do a new Bistro Cafe and something like the Eden Cafe.... plus  more Asian other than at the buffet.

Looking forward to seeing any photos that are posted during and after the Equinox renovations..

Interesting. So no bathroom updates it seems. Wonder if that is true across all stateroom types

I believe that they were never going to do the same extent of refurbishment on S-Class ships that they did on M-Class (Millennium and Summit). Unfortunately we have lost the Equinox example for S-Class to see what was planned in the full dry dock.

Thanks, our next cruise is on Equinox, a ship we’ve only been on once quite awhile ago.  We are looking forward to to seeing what updates are done. Our cabin is  an aft S1 and hoping for some updated colors and features.

Sound like unless you are in certain class of cabins there is really nothing much changing.  Just glad the suites are not being added to the Sky Lounge area.  There was previously something about them changing the buffet to a marketplace type of set up...but thought that is what is was now.
