Incredible.  It must've been something to watch him play HS basketball.

Roger graduated a year before me .I only had two years to watch him play.Connie Hawkins played in a park that I frequented and I had the opportunity to watch him play many times.
Mike Woodson ,the current Head Coach of Indiana University has often said in interviews that Roger was his favorite player when he was growing up. One of my granddaughters is a student at Indiana. She has a very close friend who is on the Women’s basketball team.My granddaughter and her friend are going to speak to Woodson to tell him about my friendship with Roger .Perhaps he will be interested in conversing with me .

False claims were made about pricing for a particular cruise on multiple threads and they were called out on it.  Nothing new, nothing to see, move along. 😄

Interesting when someone tells others to move along. 🙄

So, today was the day -- I finally met my birth father, Bill!

I really do feel like I won the lottery with this family discovery. …

I think you did win the family lotto. Congrats.

When I was in HS there was no such thing as women’s basketball.Every player on every basketball team in my HS went on to play college basketball but only one made it to pro basketball. At  6’5 I was the tallest student in the school but had no interest in playing which made the Coach very angry.

I recall you saying you played semi/pro basketball, but you had no interest?

Our grandson Jack, who is a Sophomore in high school, just came home and told me about two Awards he was given.  One is for Best Documentation , and the second is for Best Film in Ocean County.  He never ceases to amaze me!  Jack actually produced his first documentation, along with his classmate, on Autism when he was in the fifth grade.  He and his friend were invited to the end of the year School Board meeting, where they presented their film to those assembled there.  He makes us so proud!!

Congrats! It's so exciting when the Grandkids do something like that. I bet that made you so happy!

I need a new MacBook Pro…. My current two, and my newest probably 4 years old, the touch pad is twitchy, from editing too many videos.  Does the newest version have same touch part as the old, replacing the long ago departed mouse?

I have no idea what the old ones compared to this one.  This is my 1st Apple computer.   The touch pad is huge.  Not sure yet why.  There is an option to get a mouse.  This is all new to me.  So much to learn.  I had to. Google how to make a new file 😆.   Here's a pic to give you an idea how big the pad is.  It has surprised me how heavy this thing is.

Doctor said it was a buildup of histamine’s which could have been caused by food and drink or even environmental changes. I think it might have been a combo of both. Coming from a tropical humid climate to a cold very dry climate. Doctor put me on a steroid pack. By the next day my itching was gone and I’m fine now.

Glad to hear you are doing better. Itching is the worst.

Jack's visa was just about to expire and being young and in love (still am in love, though not young anymore)  Jack asked me to marry him and live in Israel.  We could have married in the states but I figured, why not?  It should be an exciting adventure, right?.  I was happy my parents were able to attend the wedding.  We lived in Israel for one year before Jack said he knew I missed my family and that we would go back.  I thought he meant for a visit.  He meant to move back permanently.  THEN we had to tell his family in Israel, parents, sister, brother that we were going back to NY.  Not a happy day for them but for me I was floating on air.

I like to say that at different times, we gave up our countries for each other.

In this stage of our lives, yes we both prefer renting and living maintenance free...

Sad you had to jump thru hoops to get married. Glad everything worked out the way it did.
Maintenance free would be nice. Let someone else deal with it. I like that idea.

Nice to see the sun has come out in Sydney this afternoon.  View from my friends’ balcony on Ovation.734689BC-0477-49D0-BEDE-B181F446BCC0.thumb.jpeg.6835dd2cb2fb03161358759fcece0c9f.jpeg

I never tire of this view or the 360-degree view, of the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge and ship at the Overseas Passenger Terminal, as I never tire of Venice.   Thanks for the view - will see again soon.

It was said as a joke, thus the emoji.

So you will be standing?

LOLOL, I doubt that too.  Lisa and I might spend a few minutes at the slots at some point, but seems unlikely.

We land tonight about 10pm Vegas time which is after midnight here so it couldn't be tonight.  Thursday and Friday night we have things planned, so it doesn't leave much time to gamble with a Saturday morning departure. This has been a planned trip for 3 specific reasons with some food thrown in along the way.

I guess it is a wait and see.

Congratulations to Jack.  Can I ask what made him decide to do a doco on Autism?  Was it due to a classmate or family member? (If that’s too personal and you would rather not say, I understand)

That is an interesting question.  I will try to remember to ask him about this tonight and get back to you!!

Thank you, John.  These kids always amaze me with their feats.  Every one of them!!

We will walk through the casino but we will not be sitting at a machine. 🤞

Safe travels this evening.  It's been quite a few years since I've been to Las Vegas.  I do sit at the slots when there..lol!

Like everyone else said, thanks for starting a thread that got us thru the pandemic and beyond. It has been fun getting to know people on here and actually meeting some. Some day I hope to meet you and your husband.

Same here, Renee.

I'm "keeping an eye" on Bella 2, and just had a promo email from El Al, that they'll be opening a FLL route. There's hope 😘

Yum.  I love lots of pepper in my gravy (and soups).  My wife (who can eat spicy Thai like no one's business) even thinks I over-pepper my stuff.

You could get a Wireless Mouse with a Dongle and still be able to use a Mouse. I hate using a touch pad on a laptop for anything.
