Daily Switzerland photos, this time, from Jungfraujoch, the "Top of Europe".  To get there, you take Jungfraujoch Railway, a cog railway to a tunneled, underground station near the top of the mountain

The longest glacier in the Alps:

I vaguely remember doing that trip up Jungfrau . The cog railway tunneled into the glacier with stops along the way where we got out to view some ice sculptures. The view at the top was expansive although all white. It was decades ago .

My daughter just sent this video from Grindelwald.  We are everywhere!  Go Bills!

Just heard a funny news story , there was a bar in Milwaukee that said if you open a tab before jet games starts and Aaron Rodgers is the starting QB your bar tab is free if Jets lost , so after Rodgers had injury there was some heavy drinking thinking they were drinking for free , but as we know Jets won so everybody had to pay there tab.

Just some random stuff happening from the last few days.

So, I think I mentioned that we had a couple intermittent problems with our boat last month, and I was waiting on some parts to come in.  Friday, I took it in to the shop for them to work on.  The mechanic I use is very meticulous, and I spent a little more time there than I thought I would.

As luck would have it, as he was putting in new points, one of the screws dropped and ended up in one of the belt pulleys.  He had to pull all the belts and pulleys and alternator to get to the screw. When the alternator came off, it was obvious vibration had made the hole not quite round anymore.

IMG_8916.thumb.jpeg.cf63500004a4de26378284eec16f9db7.jpeg

The good news was that he had a replacement, and the better news was there was no charge for it.  Now all the parts are on, and we put it on the lake Saturday to test it out.  It was a beautiful day.

oh, one other picture from the boat shop.  He had an old Chris Craft that he is restoring.  I will be interested in seeing the finished product.

Patti @Coralc I am so sorrry for the sad news of Bobby’s passing.  May you find peace and comfort in knowing that he knew in his little heart that he was so loved by you.  Hugs to you.

Bob @bobmacliberty I really enjoy the beautiful photos from the newlyweds.  Never thought about Switzerland but what a great place to visit and explore.  I’ve been wondering though, there’s never anyone around them, so who takes the pictures of the two of them together for them?

@aussielozzie18 As usual, I love the pictures that you share.  I love the cute koalas and the lighthouse.  I love lighthouses, too.  I look for them and have my eyes out for them when on a cruise.  I make sure I get pictures of them so I can share it with @Ocean Boy cuz I know he loves them, too.

@Momof3gurlz I’m excited for you on your upcoming trip.  Have a fantastic time.  Taking just a carryon and backpack each will make it so much easier to move around.   You can do it!

John, @Ozark_Kid How was the strawberry cake?  It looked so good.  Kenzie has a kind and generous heart.  She is very special.

Last night, we went to the Waterfire festival.  I told Susan I had read that they had opened a Tiki Lounge nearby, so we decided to go for a couple drinks.

What a disappointment.  It was essentially a patio to an Irish Pub, so I don’t get that connection.  It was difficult to get to, so it wasn’t really crowded, even though it was right next to the stage where the bands were playing at the festival.

IMG_8932.thumb.jpeg.f53db5b87c55bb17d72fa219adc113a0.jpeg

The decorations were pathetic, so it didn’t have a Tiki vibe.  I think @Sea Dog has his set up nicer.

We looked at the menu, and thought maybe the drinks were in souvenir glasses.

Well, we were wrong.  I think the owners must have been to CocoCay, because the $16 Hurricane looks like one of Royal’s small offerings.

IMG_8933.thumb.jpeg.ce7e4b706f12af87c1313f03fc2d4bd2.jpeg

And even worse, Susan’s Rumrunner was about half that size.

That’s really disappointing. So sorry you experienced that’s. Tiki is real popular now but it has to be done right. Those drinks are pathetic. My buddy Spike just finished a new video of his tour of famous Tiki bars. Here is Max’s South Sea Hideaway. Now this is a Tiki Bar!

I agree, those drinks are pathetic and the price ridiculous.

They move to Bellagio on Lake Como tomorrow, I think.  Will be an interesting difference between the Alps and Lake Como.

I can’t wait to see those photos!  Any wagers on how long before some here start booking your daughters honeymoon itinerary?!

I think I mentioned we booked a casino cruise next March 1-9, total of about $185 for a balcony. I don’t know how or why, but Andy received another offer from Casino Royal last week so what did we do? Booked another one of course!  It’s a 4 night on Allure, 2/26-3/1. This will be our first S2S I think it’s called? Both from PC.  This offer was for an inside only so we paid about $400 to upgrade to an OV balcony.  We’ll then spend 5 nights at Old Key West at Disney - no parks, just enjoying the resort with a day trip planned to Clearwater Beach.
Now if I can just get Andy moving on a plan for his big birthday next June.  So far, the options are:  a California trip, Hawaii, an all-inclusive in the DR that’s highly recommended by friends or a cruise somewhere that’s not the Caribbean.

Hawaii,

My vote goes to Hawaii. Paradise on earth.

Go for the carry on !!! You can do it !!!

On another note -- we made it safely to Amsterdam. The little village our son lives is quaint and lovely. We don't like the house, but they didn't have much choice, and are very happy to find one quickly.

The kitchen is made for tall Dutch people, and not for a short person like me.... The first day I've tried to peel potatoes at the sink, it was a huge effort. Today I've bought ready peeled potatoes.... 😉

Thanks for the update, John. It’s good to know that your spirit is still fine and that you’re looking forward to cruising soon. 🤗

Please remember, that in addition to all of the love and support that you already receive from your close-by family, you can also seek some comfort from your worldwide “Dani family” too. I’m sure that members of both “families” will continue to keep you in their prayers. 🙏🏼 Take care.

Thanks.  We certainly have been blessed with a lot of love from our immediate family, church family and  our community.  And I definitely am thankful for the love and concern from here.  I REALLY want to make it to the Bella 2 cruise and meet so many.

Although this is a challenging time, it really can make you a stronger person.  With so much love, help and prayers being shared,  how could I deny that God is with us.

By the way, that cake looks amazing! Come back and tell us how it was please

It actually surprised me how good it was!  It was really good! There was 15 of us and it was so big we still have almost half.

Good thing I listened to Kenzie and shared it with everyone. 😆

Are you on deck 9?  Like that balcony size!  We are on Serenade next month, first time with a center aft cabin instead of a corner.

Yes, great cabin, very private with shade as well as sun. Very Happy with it

Nice to have a lounger on the balcony.

I like heat but I think this time of year in the Caribbean would be too hot for me.

I agree it's very hot. First time we've done the Caribbean in the summer. But we can usually find some shade with sea breezes. It is an unusual itinerary and was a great price when it was first on  sale. Having said that I think we'll keep to the Northern hemisphere  in our anniversary month of Sept

+ 1 @sgmn sorry you are finding the heat overwhelming though.

I think we're getting acclimatised, enjoying the shady pary of the top deck with cooling breezes.  The humidity is very high, apparently September is the hottest month in this part of the world

I've been meaning to post pics of the shower remodel.  Several guys came in and tore out a wall, the bathtub/shower and moved water pipes and a/c vents.

We then hired a tile company.

The guys also replaced our original bathroom door with a barn door.

The other side of the room had double sinks.

We removed them to add room to move around.  Sharon decorated the walls this week.

I have been keeping my eye out for you and Gary.   I thought I saw you yesterday and walked up to her saying Hi are you Sue but not you.

Yes, it sure has been a hot trip.   Do you hang in solarium on sea days?

Sometimes plus shady side of top deck. Usually by myself as Gary's prefers the gym or cool of the VC lounge. Popped into the DL a few times in the early evening  but usually end up in the main part of VC lounge . Here's an up to date pic of us.

Had great day in Curaçao today. Swam with wild turtles and tropical fish. Currently enjoying cocktails in town

Would love to meet up but I only have WiFi on land

I have already posted about several things done for us like all of the cards, meals, the TV stand being completed,  etc and the prayers.

Here are a couple more pics.  A loving couple wanted to do something special so they bought me a lift chair! It sure is helpful.

My SIL is friends with a Therapist guy that is part of a group that puts ramps in for people at cost!   They understand how to design them so the slope is good.  They finished this for me a couple weeks ago. It's almost the length of the garage.

I haven't posted a picture of Lenoard in awhile. I'm not sure what's going on here, either striking a pose for the cover of Cat Vogue or maybe his profile picture for Cat Tinder?
