Australia beats Gone With the Wind for me!

Oh Mimi, whenever I want a good chuckle I you tube Carol Burnett's GWTW parody, Went With the Wind,  where she walks down the stairs with the curtain rods/curtains on her shoulders commenting "I saw it in the window and just couldn't resist".  Comedic genius at least IMHO.

The funniest part of that show was Harvey Korman trying to keep a straight face, especially when Tim Conway was doing something.  That entire cast was great.

La Niña continues to impact us this summer, with rain this week. Not complaining though. Rather rain and cooler temps than heatwaves and the dreaded bushfires and smoke hazes.  We are also currently  experiencing unusually warm ocean temperatures on the east coast.  The highest in 80 years for this month.

Indoor Christmas trees will stay up for awhile. Perhaps mid-January or end of January or Super Bowl weekend they'll come down. Helps keeps the post-holiday, winter blahs away.

I've done that before. It's a nice way to ease out of the holidays.

I did witness an extreme act of idiocy yesterday on the pool deck.  A young mother sat her daughter (1 year old or less) on the rail, and was holding her in much the same way as that tragic accident happened.

Granted, there was not a window there, but who in their right mind would think that was a good idea.

While watching Amazing Race last night I thought up a new series that I think would be cool.  Amazing Cruise!  Have a cruise that stops at about 14 ports.  They get off and compete at each port.  To get their first clue at each port, blindfold them and have them take a bite of food. They would have to figure out where it was prepared and go to that dining area to find there first clue.  The rest would be at the port.

I now realize I fell into the "bullship media trap"

I do not want to be labeled as a thread instigator with wrong information.

In the future I will pursue details before I post information that is not conclusive.

In the meantime................

Stay safe.

The DH is all better.

Waiting for clearance to go back to work.

(I am too🙄)

Take care and stay safe 😷.

That’s one of my favorites. So many of their skits give me the giggles. Carol Burnett, Tim Conway and Harvey Korman were to me the best comedy casting ever. Like they were born to be together.
I lived when they cracked each other up.

I couldn’t walk on the pool deck without looking over at the windows. I never dreamed anyone could be so unthinking!

We had a home theater room in the basement of our Cincinnati house with an interesting mix of posters: Caddy Shack, Blues Brothers, The Hangover, The Matrix, Gone with the Wind, and Silence of the Lambs. I think I posted here before that on our first date, I took Micheline to see Silence of the Lambs in a theater.  Not sure what I was thinking, but it worked.

I was rooting for the 2 cops from Buffalo.  Deserving law enforcement officers and from Buffalo...a great combo.  Sigh.  There are several "deserving" contestants this season...the guys on the French train, the guy who was wrongly imprisoned for 10 years, the couple that took the underprivileged black teenager into their family (who is now attending one of the military academies), and the couple that runs the after-school center for kids in a dangerous urban area (although I don't think they'll be able to keep up physically).  I've noticed on shows like this that more and more contestants are some sort of online personality.  The new economy I guess.

Normally I root for 4 or 5 couples. This season so far I am rooting for 9 to do well.

Oh, we have plenty of Australian movie posters but they are in storage.  Husband sees every Australian movie released.  We are often the only ones in the cinema for them.  Agree that “Australia” the movie with Hugh Jackman was good.  Yes, the bombing of Darwin is not widely known.

There's a thriller mystery series on at the moment called 'The Tourist' . Its set in the Australian outback. Its very good 👍

Snow storm coming here tomorrow. it's giving me anxiety today.😏

Yup, Armageddon is coming!  We are finally getting measurable snow in New England and people are losing their minds!  I made the mistake of going to the grocery store today like I do every Thursday.  Big mistake!

Our captain managed to cut about 4 hours out of the expected travel time between Nassau and St. Martin.  I know when I try to cut down on travel time, someone in the passenger seat starts yelling to slow down.

Today we were in port with Mein Schif, Odyssey, and Rhapsody (Maybe we were swapping crew again). Lots of people were on deck to watch us sail into port.

We just got off the ship and walked to town.  Our 15 minute walk got us there quicker than those who waited in line for the water taxi. If you walk, you can see some of the interesting places like The Adult Toy Box.

We walked the boardwalk, but ended up at the BBB.

It seemed like a day for initials, so I had a BBC at the BBB.

All the talk about dogs lately, and apparently you can just scoop one up off the street here.  We found this one.

But then it was time to return to the ship, before we became a pier runner.  And here is my artistic impression of pier runners for our two ships today.

Often, around here, all the rules in the Highway Traffic Act are unilterally suspended by drivers when they head out into the snow.  First thing to not do.... clean the snow off the windshield.

Food & drink look delish.  Those dogs look like they may have enjoyed flatbread too.  Love your sketch. Talented.

You forgot to add rear window, roof and hood too.
