We’re celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow at our middle DD’s house in Massachusetts.

On Friday, Andy and I will drive to PA to have a 2nd Thanksgiving

This sounds like a land UDP!

I bet this will be a great time.  Enjoy.

I have most of the work done.  We are having my son, his GF, her son, and her mother and stepfather.  I have not met the mom and stepfather yet so we will see.  I just have to stuff the turkey in the morning and get it in the oven.  The sides are made and just need to bake.  I have 2 ovens which helps.  They are bringing a side and a pie.  I made a pumpkin cheesecake. So the menu for tomorrow is as follows:

Turkey and stuffing

Sweet potato casserole

Potato dumplings

Their side

gravy

rolls

cranberry relish (homemade)

olives

Cheesecake

pie

For appetizers I will have a couple of cheese balls and spinach dip

I wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving!

So you put it in an oven? not on the grill? what temperatures do I set oven on and with thermometer what temps am I looking for Medium Rare?

Sorry it's taken me a while to respond. We got a new sectional sofa so we had to play around with the setup.

I've only cooked a Tomahawk once but it turned out really good by just searing it on the grill then finish in the oven.  Season your steaks first with some olive oil and salt and pepper then sear over direct heat for 3-4 minutes per side so that you get some good grill marks. I then transfer the steaks onto a baking sheet and finish in the oven at 425 degrees. I cook until internal temp is 130 degrees (medium rare) then take it out to rest for 5 minutes and  then enjoy. I hope this helps.

All packed and ready to board Adventure OTS tomorrow. We are going to drive most of the way tonight and spend the night with my inlaws (who I dearly love) and then travel the remaining couple of hours to Galveston in the morning.

The most stressful part of cruising is those last couple of days when you are trying to stay healthy and imagining you feel this or that symptom even though you are 100% fine. Just me? At any rate, I'll breathe a lot easier once we are on board tomorrow! We are all feeling good and are ready to go.

I hope and know you will have a fantastic time. Bon Voyage and drink a Kraken Colada for me! Cheers!

In case I don’t get back on here until late tomorrow, I wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving to all 🦃🍁, and safe travels to those who will be on the road, in the air, or on the seas.

Thank you.     Same to you and your Family.    Have a blessed Thanksgiving

She is feeling better, not perfect, still tired and congested.  Negative for covid.  Chris has been fine.  He has been working from home since last week.  Just incase.

We will head to our shore house Friday morning to do a deep clean and put some outdoor furniture in shed.

Our next tenants arrive in December.

Chris and Donna plan on coming to LBI Saturday and we will do our celebratory dinner at one of the restaurants on the island.

Thank you for asking and thinking of us🥰

So glad Donna is feeling better and Chris is fine.

Enjoy your weekend in LBI.  I know you have work to do, but there's nothing like being down at the Shore.  Temperatures should be in your favor, also!

Enjoy your celebratory dinner with the kids!  Oh, and have a healthy and Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow!

Just finished putting up the outside lights, just a few.  I am getting too short to reach the windows so I had to stand on my toes and really stretch😳 Charlie had to actually come outside and help me, Never needed help before🥴Anyway, that is done and my apple pie is done also and so am I!!!!!

Good for you, Marietta!  We still have lots of leaves to come down...hopefully by next week,  we can finally finish leaf clean-up and Christmas decorating can then begin!

We’re celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow at our middle DD’s house in Massachusetts. Including some of SIL’s family, there’ll be 12 of us.  I’m making sausage stuffing, 2 pumpkin pies and a charcuterie board.

On Friday, Andy and I will drive to PA to have a 2nd Thanksgiving with our oldest and her family, and hopefully Andy & our SIL can wrap up the master bathroom remodel that’s been going on since March or April. It was initially delayed when they all came down with Covid, then they had vacations planned and then Andy was out of commission with his broken wrist.

In case I don’t get back on here until late tomorrow, I wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving to all 🦃🍁, and safe travels to those who will be on the road, in the air, or on the seas.

Enjoy your two Thanksgiving Dinners with your DD's and their families, Deb and Andy!  Safe travels to both locations!🦃

Have a fabulous cruise.  Glad you all stayed healthy.  Since we'll be on Adventure in Feb., I'll have questions when you get back.

My niece and nephew have covid.   So far nephew has mild symptoms but niece's symptoms are flu like - fever, cough, feeling achy.  They were going to host Thanksgiving. My sister and bil were with my nephew when he picked them up Monday from the airport.  Whole family (another niece, her husband and their 2 kids) were together at one time or another within the last 3 days so no Thanksgiving for us!   I'm glad we didn't get together in a few weeks. I'm having my 2nd cataract surgery done next week and I don't want it delayed.

Sorry to hear they have covid.   Hopefully all remain mild and others do not contract covid.

I hope you and Hubby find a nice way to spend Thanksgiving day with each other.

Maybe call it loungewear day and snuggle on the sofa and watch some holiday movies.🥰

To all celebrating tomorrow, Happy Thanksgiving. Safe travels if you are or to those who are coming to your home.

I also expect to see food porn photos tomorrow.  Don’t leave me hanging. 😋

Has anyone done the Mayan Ruins?  If so, how was the experience?

We did a Mayan Ruins tour several years ago.    I found it informative and interesting to learn about their lifestyle and we saw some Mayan's working in a field and restoring a building while on the tour.

Now, you are going to ask which one we did......It was in Cozumel and that is all I can remember right now.   If you have never done one, I would give it a go at least once.

Thank you.   Yes, weather should be half-way decent.   Looks like we may get some periods of rain but other than Eric pressure washing the patio decks and putting away some of the patio furniture all the other cleaning is indoors.   😶   We want to leave a couple chairs on the front patio incase the renters want to sit outside should we get a warm day or two this winter.      We have the steam mop, pressure washer and carpet shampooer in his trunk.    Just need to pack our small luggage bags tomorrow.

I hope you and your Family have a Blessed Thanksgiving too!

I hope everyone on Dani's thread has a Blessed Thanksgiving💕

I am happy to say I received my blood results today and my cholesterol numbers have improved by 20 to 30 points for various categories.     The Doc said last fall I was borderline of needing a statin with my numbers so she should be pleased to see my improvement with no meds.

If she tests me after the holidays and a cruise - forget it!!!

I’m behind again! I’m too old to be this busy!

I want to wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving with your favorite food on your plate.
We have so much to be thankful for, even during our gloomiest days.
I’m so thankful to Dani for bringing us together as a global family!

Some of you may remember my 98 year old friend Ginny, who was always the life of any party. Then she tripped over her suitcase and broke her hip. Scans in the hospital showed masses throughout her body. She hated hospital food, refused to walk, yelled at everyone, and was visibly dwindling away.
She was moved to a rehab facility because she refused treatment for cancer. She was a total grouch, there, too.
Now she’s in assisted living and trying to figure how to go home to her 2 story townhouse.
Soooo, she turned 99 Saturday, and we threw her a surprise party.
I’m attaching a couple of photos.
Ginny is Ginny again, and we’re hoping we’ll be celebrating her 100th next year!

So with a full heart, I want to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!
