No, this is a renewal.  We've both had GE for the past 5 years.  That's why I said I think it's stupid to make us do another interview.  When I check my status online it still says "Conditionally Approved" and wants me to make an appointment...but of course, no appointments are available.  My GE expires at the end of this month.  I applied and paid back in Feb.  PITA

My Nexus renewal has been stuck since February but now it notes this in my account.

Due to a significant increase in application volume, we are extending the grace period from 6 months to 1 year for any submitted renewal application. This means you will continue to receive full benefits for 1 year while U.S. Customs and Border Protection is finalizing your renewal application.

Same thing for us with Global Entry.  They cashed my check quick enough, but still no available appointments to do the interview.  Since this is a renewal, you'd think they'd just renew it and be done.  I don't really see the point of another interview when things are this backed up.  Whatever...

I submitted and paid my GE renewal in January. It still just says Pending Review. I thought they would just renew it, but it doesn't even say that an interview is required, just pending review.  Maybe they will get to it when they come back in August. :classic_huh:

No worries.

Our renewal was approved in just over 24 hours.  We submitted our renewal on May 7th at noon and were approved on May 8th at 8pm.  We had our new cards about a week later.

Lisa just told me about the process. 😉

Thanks for the update. I'm a week behind you as far as mailing and acceptance/check cashed, so perhaps next week my status will change to approved/being printed. I just checked and it still says IN PROCESS.

I applied for the renewal of my Global Entry last week, fully expecting a long wait! I was expecting to hear that I was going to need to make an appointment for an interview (which none are available). Within 36 hours, I got an email informing me that I was approved! Guess I was very lucky!

  • 2 weeks later...

We submitted our daughters renewal on May 22nd.  As of today, July 27th, it is still showing as in process.  Looking at a couple of other replies from right at the beginning of the pandemic, it was about a 4 month wait.  We won't need hers until the end of December, so let's hope it is only 4-5 months on the renewal.

They must do it randomly. I renewed a GE a few weeks ago and it was processed and new card sent within a couple of weeks. No interview required. I think I renewed around June 20.

Glad to hear it.  That's awesome.  I just checked mine and it's still showing a need to schedule an interview.  UGH

Luckily we renewed our passports a year ago but we applied for GE in February, before Covid hit.  Ours have been pending review since.  I am certain that an interview will be required for mine at least because I have been a victim of identity theft and I am escorted through customs after each cruise (I either get a call the night before saying we have to meet security down front to be disembarked with security or we get the dreaded BONG as our passes are scanned and then get the escort).  The customs officer has to interview me and ask for my password each time...so embarrassing because the ship's workers never believe me when I try to explain, lol. But now I wonder if we will even get approval before the end of the year,

We applied for GE around the christmas/new year's holiday and sometime in February we received conditional approval (while DH got his about 2 weeks earlier than me) and set up our appointments for first available in April to go to PHL airport.    Of course, that got cancelled now the system won't even let me re-schedule our appointments.   I have emailed them last week and still no response yet.     Guess I will try to call but last time i tried that I got automated message with no working prompts.

next I have to start on the renewal of our passports.   They expire march 5, 2021.   sounds like I should start now if they are taking this long

We had an estimated delivery expected by July 25 but we actually received it July 22. So the whole process from start to finish took 4 months and a couple of days!

Now I  have my new passport and nowhere to go..... Hoping to be able to cruise by the spring!

Applied sometime ago for Global Entry (they quickly took my $'s)...No interviews available for LAX showing at all. Got an email that I could do an interview if coming in from an international flight...and I'm certainly not. So what happens now ??
