Good morning,  An interesting list of days today.  I have seen Manatees in Aquariums that is it.  I loke Clams Casino but not on menus at local restaurants and I gave crayons for Christmas.  Nothing better than a new box of crayons.   I am unsure about the Lincoln quote.  In everyday life it rather rings true, for the people of Ukraine it is a no.  Love Tamales but a little tricky to make them so they aren't all cornmeal.   Waiting on the drink.

I actually visited Pichon Baron in Pauillac in 1996 with my late husband.  I still have a few in the cellar.  It was relatively inexpensive in the 90s.  We tasted a 1992 in their cellars and DH wanted to buy some.  I said wait for back home.  We bought a lot of it for around $20 at Total Wine in McLean VA.  Buying it on futures also made it reasonably priced.  I think the newest vintage I have is 2003.  I have been to Gibraltar on the Konigsdam in 2018.

Today is trying to recreate the Swabian Rye we loved on the NS this year.    Time will tell.  I am still locked off Facebook.  I am about ready to start a new account.

Prayers for all on Roy's care list and our works leaders to manage this total horror in Ukraine. 🙏

All pics from the fortress, obviously I loved the apes.  The fuzzy pic is passing through the Straight with Welcome to Morocco. Obviously a tiny thumbnail.

Somewhere in my rather dull life style, it has become very busy, and my hours are zipping by.  And I cant tell you exactly why, I don't know, we did something after work yesterday that we needed to do, it was go to the grocery store.  I can keep us fed for the next 4 days, and we are going out for dinner with an old friend on Friday night.  She and I have been having a bit of a spat over the last two months, and I kept telling her, I was not going to argue with her.  Life is too short.

We have free tickets to a noon time concert at Emory University tomorrow,  and we have to go to the bank as we got our tax check back, but since we dont have a joint account, we have to appear as a couple, with our bank cards and ID's and put the money in one of the accounts.  Then whoever gets the money, cuts the other one a check for half of it.

The senior center that i would go to pre covid, offered a coloring class, this was with pencils, not crayons.  It has been found that coloring lowers blood pressure, helps build up hand and eye coordination, and relieves stress.  The class was held in a small class room, and everyone complained, fought over the pencils, bad mouthed the missing "teacher", and when i suggested that they add some calming classical music, they insisted that no one would like it.   I went back to the Art drawing class, and I color at home....

Today is pay the bills that are due tomorrow,  it was suggested that when calling Opera patrons to call later in the day, so I dont go to work until 2 today, or 3.  And then I get tomorrow off to have adventures.

@StLouisCruisers I used to get very bad migraines, and they all went away after I divorced my first husband.  What I found helped was putting my hands in warm water, or soaking my feet, lowering lights, and a foot massage,  application to pressure points.  And sleep.

And to everyone who was celebrating a birthday yesterday, I hope it was great.

@grapau27 Snow?  You had great weather earlier this week.  I hope your spring comes back.

Hugs to all!

Good morning everyone,

Another very windy day here in SoFlo. DH has left for his cardiac rehab so I'm going to do a tidy up while he's out of the house. He always seems to leave a messy trail behind him!

Went out for pizza last evening with his cousins, we sat outside and had a great time. It was nice to talk in person and catch up with all the family  "gossip"

Thoughts for everyone on the care list and for those on the celebrations list a wine toast will be forthcoming this evening. We need to celebrate the good things when we can.

Good morning, thanks for the Daily!   Manatees are the gentle giants of the ocean and deserve a day to be celebrated.  While not a fan of plain clams, I do like clam chowder.  Who didn't enjoy opening a new package of crayons as a child?  I still do!  Speaking of colouring:

Stress.thumb.jpg.36d46b702113ee1fa47916c4240e6265.jpg

Today's quote is only partially true; sometimes the situation around you is such that it's difficult to think anything could bring happiness.  We all have our battles and manage them in different ways.

Well yesterday's respirologist appointment went very well for DH.  His lungs are clear and he doesn't have any issues, but now is being referred to an overnight sleep clinic because his oxygen levels seem to drop quite low at night.  It's always something, isn't it?

We had a great afternoon with our friend who turned 80; he was surprised that we even thought of him.  Another couple came with us because she had made a quilt for the birthday boy's newest great grandson, so I did something neat.  I brought along the quilt she made for us for our wedding 45 years ago and took a photo of her with one of the very first quilts she ever made and the latest one.  Ours is still in great shape and as I told our friend, good things last, like her quilts and our friendship.

Not a lot on the program today, just heading out to get some groceries and that's about it.  The sun is expected to shine today and we should have temperatures in the +5 region, so that will mean the glaciers will continue to recede - yay!  I might take some time to clean off the storage boxes, etc., from our deck and get it ready for us to enjoy meals on again.  Speaking of meals, DH will be uncovering the barbecue because I'm planning on burgers for tonight.  Burgers, air fryer fries and coleslaw will be what's on our dinner table tonight.  And wine.

Prayers for everyone who needs them and even for those who don't think they do.  Extra prayers for Ukraine and all who are providing assistance to them.  Also extra for our Daily family members who are struggling with health and family matters.  We'll raise our glasses to celebrate all who make up the happy list.  Stay safe, get your boosters, wear your masks when you need to, wash your hands, and be well.

Smooth Sailing!  🙂🙂🙂

Good morning to all the Dailyites.

Hope everyone has a great Thursday.

As I said yesterday, it is crunch time here trying to get everything done before we leave on Monday.

Thank you to both Rich and Roy for the lists.

As always I keep all those who need prayers close to my heart.

I hope those on cruises are having a good time.  @aliaschiefhope you and your DW are feeling better and test negative soon..

I am off to the hairdresser this morning and then hopefully finish packing this afternoon.

There is still tons of paperwork to finish to get into Spain and on the plane.  Can’t finish it until Sunday.

I will pass on the meal.  Wine looks good, but a bit above my budget.

We will stop in Gibraltar on our upcoming cruise.  First time.  Happy to see the photos.

Hope everyone stays well.

God bless,

Terri

It’s bad enough being in isolation but it became prison this morning with no internet!😩

It finally just came back on. We dined on takeout from Nami Sushi last night. Presently awaiting for my first Covid swab after my first five days of quarantine. They are late but they no I’ll be here.

Rich we have had some changes but today we are in Ocho Rios, Jamaica and yesterday was Cayman. Can’t see whether Zuiderdam is here or not.Not on bow or aft cams.

Yes, this is getting old and we are anxiously awaiting for Sunday to go home.

SIL Barb again tested negative so that’s a relief and I just tested negative. Need one more negative for a get out of jail card!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻😷

Good Morning Dailyites!

Thanks for the Daily and all who contribute.  Healing thoughts 🤗 to those on the care list and cheers 🍻 to those on the celebratory list.

Was very surprised to see that we have only been to Gibraltar twice out of 13 Southern route TA's 😲.

The first was on =X= Century (BCN-MIA) on 12/6/07.  We did the top of The Rock tour then walked around town, had fish & chips and a local beer.

The second time was 4/13/18 on Crown Princess (BCN-FLL).  It was a really lousy day and were glad we did a ship tour that included the airport crossing and the WWII tunnels.

Good Morning All,

Anyone know what the “blue rocket” icon is that has been appearing, then disappearing on avatars this morning? It’s currently gone…..

@aliaschief Hope you are negative and out soon. I’m packing 2 melamine plates from our camping gear, and I picked up some stainless steel utensils at the thrift the other day. After our cruise, they’ll become camping gear. We’re driving to San Diego, so we’re not as inhibited with luggage.

Speaking of such, I’ve got to finish packing. So does DH.

Have a great day everyone!

For some reason I thought the blue rocket meant a new poster with under a certain amount of posts, like 50 or 100.

Good morning all!

I never made it to the Daily yesterday, the CC gremlins were attacking and I gave up.  Fingers crossed for today!

Manatees are special creatures, will pass on the clams (but we had clam chowder last night). We still have crayons here for the grandsons, even though they usually prefer doing other things now.

The Lincoln quote is true day-to-day, but as others have said, not when things are VERY bad.  The meal sounds good, will pass on the drink and wine.

This afternoon we'll be going to pick up the grandsons from school and then take them to their Tae Kwon Do class.  Dinner will be at their house, so I don't know yet what that will be!  I'll be baking some cookies to bring them. 😉

We were in Gibraltar twice in 2019.  We walked to the cable car, taking some time to send off some post cards and do some shopping,  and then spent a lot of time looking at the views and watching the Macaques.  As my photos show, that was the main draw for me, I found them fascinating.

Approaching the cable cars

Lots of time to read the signs as we waited in line

Some of my favorite photos of the Macaques.  Loved seeing the babies.

Good morning Everyone!  I have been "babysitting" DD's Pomeranian for the last week.  Happy to say, her very well-behaved dog taught our puppy how to be a big boy.  I'd been failing miserably at training, but Tails taught our Pocket how to be a gentleman.  What a fun experience to watch!  @Sharon in AZ, something to think about with your fur babies.

Our house guest is gone now, so it's much more calm around here.  We keep looking for itineraries including Gibralter, as we've not been there.  Enjoying the photos very much.   I like little-neck clams in tomato sauce with garlic, but that's about as far as I'll go with clams. Haven't had a tamale in a long time.  We used to get them at the farmer's market in McCall, Idaho.  To a child, there's nothing quite like a new set of crayons.

There's been a lot of talk about migraine.  I didn't know it was so common.  My visual migraines do turn into a headache, if I don't nip them in the bud.  Someone recommended this book to me, Heal Your Headache, by David Buchholz, and it changed my life as far as understanding and controlling the situation.  Don't be put off by the tabloid style of cover.  It's a very helpful book.

https://www.amazon.com/Heal-Your-Headache-David-Buchholz/dp/0761125663/ref=sr_1_1?crid=1KC65G60DD00D&keywords=control+you+headache&qid=1648740377&s=books&sprefix=control+you+headache%2Cstripbooks%2C133&sr=1-1

@kplady, you will be in thoughts and prayers for a successful surgery and quick recovery.   🙏

Rich and Team, thanks for the Daily.  Wishing everyone a lovely day.  We hope to take DGD to the zoo, if the light rain here in San Diego clears up.  😊

Good morning from a very windy mid state.  We have loads of Manatee's in the state, and we swam with them in Cozumel.  Very rough skin, but such gentle creatures.  Love Clams anyway they are fixed.  Have had tons of crayons in my life, including the exciting 64 count box. We have a food truck that sells the best tamales.  Buy them by the dozen and freeze for later.  Have not been to today's destination, but have heard about the aggressive monkeys.  I really like the Lincoln quote.  Good luck with your blood work @dfish

Major prayers for all on our list.  Will toast our celebrations this afternoon.

Please continue to be cautious and wear your mask if you feel safe with it.  I know we will.  I used to get sinus infections all the time.  Since I've been wearing a mask I have had none!!

Good Afternoon from an overcast and windy day at the beach

Looks like we are in for some nasty weather so glad to be at home. My eye shot went well this AM, so all is well.

Today is my sons birthday. He is 39 today. Hard to believe! We are going to lunch tomorrow. DH is making him waffles and bacon for dinner. Not sure where that combo came from, but it was his request!  I will eat the cake.

Manatees are wonderful peaceful creatures. I love watching them.  It really makes me angry when I see the propeller scars on their back from boaters.

Never been to Gilbralter. Thanks for the great photos. My bucket list keeps growing

Stay safe and enjoy today

Good morning, all! I haven’t had clams on the half shell in a long time. I used to dig them with my Dad in front of their house. Then they’d sit overnight in a bucket of sea water to spit out the sand. That seems like a long time ago! I love tamales, but won’t have them tonight. We’ve never been to Gibraltar, and appreciate the pictures.

We had a good movie night with our friends last night. We watched The Adam Project and had hot dogs, popcorn, and potato chips - typical movie theater food. It was fun!

@mamaofami Carol, I’m so glad you seem to have finally found a aide who makes life easier instead of harder. You deserve to be able to relax a little!

Prayers to all who need them right now, including those caught in the increased Covid cases on the ship and elsewhere.

Happy Thursday, and a toast to all our BHBs, wherever they may be!

Good afternoon. Thanks for the Daily.

I like manatees. I don't eat clams or any shellfish, other than shrimp. Crayons are fun to use!

Interesting quote.

I've never had a tamale 😮. I'll pass on the drink and wine.

I have been to Gibralter on a land trip.

Strange morning here. We had some rain early, then it stopped. I was surprised, but happy, to see them starting to pave the alley. Then around 11AM, the winds picked way up, the sky was dark, and it rained like crazy. It felt like the Wizard of Oz! Fortunately the power only blinked once. But other areas nearby are under tornado warnings. The paving guys continued under those conditions, which surprised me, but I think they were near to finishing and so kept on.

@kazu Safe travels to and from the hospital.

@irishjim Prayers for a good report from your PET scan.

@mamaofami It sounds like Kate the aide is a keeper. Finally!

@cunnorl Happy Birthday to your DS.

@smitty34877 Continued prayers for Tana.

@ger_77 Good luck with DH's sleep study.

@aliaschief@DWAliaschief @sailingdutchy Thinking of you all and hoping you feel better.

@TiogaCruiser I've seen what I thought was a blue "hand" on some posts, usually new posters.

Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for the Celebration List. Special prayers for Ukraine.

Stay safe everyone and wear your mask if needed.

Good morning and thanks all!  Will happily appreciate manatees.  That wine sounds amazing @cat shepard  we enjoyed our time in Paulliac,  although pronouncing it….

@kazu hope you can get to the hospital without incident, glad you have an SUV.  I’m sorry to hear your numbers are rising, glad your neighbour was so considerate. I have never known so many people who are ill.  DS has it, DD and whole family just getting over it, neighbours have it, argh.   I think many people don’t realize they have it,  and then it spreads so easily.   Our neighbour thought it was a summer cold and was out walking her dog, argh!  Our son was exposed because someone thought it was allergies.  People need to isolate if they have any symptoms.   I guess that’s why its called stealth Omicron.
We enjoyed Gibraltar many years ago, thanks for the photos.

I’ll happily purchase you a box if we are on a cruise together!
