ldubs Posted July 10, 2022 #12 Share Posted July 10, 2022 (edited) Pasted, with editing, from another post: Old books for reserving lounge chairs. Bags of candy in case I get hungry during the four hours food isn't available. Home made doilies with pictures of my pets for gifts to crew. Little Fluffy's support dog vest that I bought on eBay. And of course, old T-shirts that I've retrieved after Mrs Ldubs mistakenly put them in the rag bin. Edited July 10, 2022 by ldubs 3

rkacruiser Posted July 10, 2022 #16 Share Posted July 10, 2022 Why people pack food to take on a cruise is beyond my comprehension. Wine? Yes. But, be prepared to pay a corkage charge. 5 hours ago, cruiserking said: Trumpet. Tuba😁 1

We bring protein bars (or similar) to carry during island stops. In the heat and after walking distances, we occasionally have blood sugar drops that need to be treated immediately, and we don't always know where to find food on islands. As for what not to bring: - Excessive luggage - Tight clothes - Cigarettes for the balcony - Children whom they don't intend to supervise

sanger727 Posted July 11, 2022 #22 Share Posted July 11, 2022 (edited) I disagree about the food suggestion. We also take pre-packaged snacks on the cruise for evening snacking after the buffet is closed and taking off in ports. Virtually nothing on the ship is pre-packaged in a way that they can be taken as a snack into port. I'm happy to each lunch in port, but when on a shore excursion you are on their timeline and that doesn't always match up with your appetite.
