Oasis of the Seas Live - We’ve been Saved by the Bell 🐾🐾 March 12-19, 2023.

Recommended Posts

We made it to our hotel for the night.

I would also like to add our thanks and appreciation to @John&LaLa @Ourusualbeach @Lionesss @Sea Dog and everyone else who made this cruise so fantastic.  It was so nice meeting everyone.  We had a blast and already looking forward to the next one.

@taznremmy  Have a great 2nd week.

I told a few people that I would provide some reviews and information regarding some of the excursions we took.  For those that were interested, I’ll be posting it in the next couple of days.

Hope everyone who was not feeling well will be quickly on the mend.

How is it over already?
We both had such a good time and enjoyed meeting everyone.  To be honest, Andy had some reservations (not the dining kind) about how the week would be for him since he’s not active on CC. I imagine he wondered if he’d feel like the odd man out while I chatted and spent time with everyone.  That couldn’t have been further from the truth. He told me last night how much he truly enjoyed talking with everyone every night in the Diamond Lounge and Schooner Bar.
I have to thank Jen @jmh2006 for all her suggestions for our Med cruise later this year, including a hand written list!
I also want to thank Helen and Marty @FromSea2ShiningSea for helping me set up that new communication method.
@ReneeFLL and Mike, thanks for schooling me on rum 😉

We’re definitely interested in Bella 2.0, just need to look at our calendars once we get home. I only wish it was next year instead of 2025!  How about a Bella 1.5??

We’re on 95 North headed to Orlando for 3 more days before making our way home, so the vacation continues just a bit longer for us.  Safe travels to all!

So let me tell you about disembarking.

Met in sweet lounge.
Led to elevator

Crammed and warp speed.
Off ship.
Luggage easily found

Through customs

That was the good.

Now outside the terminal

Passengers coming and going.
Actually everyone behaved.
No bumping, hitting, cutting. Normal pace.
As we walked by at 9am heard 100 min wait for a taxi. Yes folks 100 min.

We pre scheduled a private car.
Called. Brief wait.
Off to FLL. To spend night.

However. Did witness some busy busy people waiting for their ride. Blocking the area to pick up your ride between pilons numbered 1-5.

Port traffic. Unbelievable.
and

for those arriving today. Traffic coming to port is bumper to bumper.

Next time we leave.
Taking 2 Tylenol.
Making sure I bring a beer to cabin the night before to take Tylenol with breakfast.

11:00

We were 8 am ish and did wait for a taxi but not more than 15 min I'd guess. It was the $130 fare to ftl that surprised me. I think I took SAS last time. Share a ride thing.

Glad we didnt wait later if the line for taxi got that bad. Feeling old today and prices I remember so much less.

I have a slightly used bottle of kraken that I would gladly trade for yours.  Somehow mine got used trying to keep up at home this week.

The blond haired kid in the middle looks like the kid from "Home Alone". waiting for his flight by himself to go find his parents and family. Maybe they need to make another movie?

All good things must come to an end. We had an amazing time this week. It was such a pleasure and so fun meeting everyone.  Thanks again to @John&LaLa, @Ourusualbeach, @Lionesssand @A&L_Ontfor organizing this cruise.

John and Ken handled the cruise portion. Andrew and I handled the review and Sue did all the slot pull stuff.

I know there is concern about the once a day stateroom cleaning or 1 bottle of wine limit, but to me a bigger concern would be the toilets that randomly stop working.  It's one of those basic functions that you assume should just always work properly, like electricity and lame cruise director jokes.

That's my only negative  comment.  Otherwise, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this thread. Thank you for all that organized and contributed to it's content. I really liked seeing it from multiple viewpoints, It has been one of the betert Live Reviews and one of the few I've kept up-to-date with. Now I wonder how I'm going to fill the 2 hours a day I spent reading it. 😇

Appreciate the time we got to drink and chat, I totally understand getting old and the body falling apart .

Hope that knee and ankles heal up quick

I have a week of specialist visits to fix a few things myself.

I am sure we will sail again and drink a list or two together my friend 🥃

Stay thirsty Greg and safe travels to you and Linda

I like forward to reading your X review after we sail Beyond in 2024

And I am always interested in trying new recipes 😉

Cheers 🍻

Happy Days!

Debarkation was a tad rough. For some reason we exited deck 5, bumper to bumper body traffic, and did a complete loop around the jogging track 🏃‍♀️ ( which I successfully avoided like the plague for 7 days).

it was almost a full hour of shuffling until we got to the taxi line. I should have remembered how awful it was from our Symphony sailing last March, but apparently I haven’t killed those brain cells yet 🥳

the problem when you exit is you have to make a decision, taxi to the right, shared rides to the left.  Chose the right (taxi) but our wait was only about another 30 minutes.

$54 taxi fare from the port to the Hilton Miami Airport Blue Lagoon. Our Uber fare to the port from here was only 5 dollars more. Didn’t check Uber rates because we’d already committed to the taxi line….

We had the same shuffle around the track.  We opted for the ride share line.  It took us over an hour to get a ride.  It took us 3 tries to get a ride.   I’ll try to remember the taxi line next time.

Thanks, Valerie, I was wondering if the shared ride option would have been

better …. Sounds like much of the same…

I met great people, had a few drinks, ate some good food, got some meds, enjoyed Bon Jovi songs, shared Limoncello, entertained you all at home, got a massage, and saw CATS. 😇

It was a good week😁

All of the above, minus a massage.

It was a GREAT week!!!  Thank you again, John.  You went over and above for us all.🥰

I sure hope you feel better quickly.  You were missed last night.

That would be too sensible

Enjoy Chris

@Sea DogGreg, color me knucklehead! How could I forget you.  I am so sorry I did not mention you in my last post.  I did not mean to do that. Please forgive me!  We really appreciated all your hard work. You contributed so much for us this week as it was you who posted our first group photo and thank you for all the time that you put into the videos. We really enjoyed meeting you and Linda and spending time in the Music Hall’s Happy Hour with you guys. I’m sorry you were in such pain yesterday that it limited your activities. We really missed you in Schooner Bar last night so we could say goodbye.

I hope you will have the surgery that you need on your knee as soon as you can so you won’t have knee pain anymore.

I’m also sorry we did not get to say goodbye to @John&LaLasorry your last 2 nights turned out the way it did. Thank you for everything. We really enjoyed getting to know you more. Get well soon!

@derorim I hope you get better soon with your swollen knee.  We also missed saying goodbye to @Lionesss @ValerieJo @PompeySailor @firefly333 @RFerringtonTake care, everyone!
