Truluv Posted February 18, 2020 #4728 Share Posted February 18, 2020 Interestingly, I didn't get a Royal Up invitation to bid this time (solo, in a JS -- same agent that I usually use). I have gotten invitations when cruising with someone else with no problem. I went to the site by myself and put in a bid...but then I was also locked out once when I wanted to see if the bid range had changed. I was told it was a "glitch." STANMELB Posted February 18, 2020 #4729 Share Posted February 18, 2020 Is the Harmony more expensive for bidding then the Allure? Sailed 1-19-2020 on the Allure in a L1 Crown Loft. Min bid for a Star Loft was $800 per person. Sailing 2-23-2020 on the Harmony in a L1 Crown Loft. Min bid for a Star Loft is $1300 per person. Cost of both cruises was almost the same. Harmony was a total of $200 more.

For us Harmony was a grand more to purchase for same cabin, same time of the year, same route, same port as when Oasis was in PC the previous year. Ouch..$$$ 😮 Edited February 18, 2020 by island lady

the2006Junket Posted February 18, 2020 #4735 Share Posted February 18, 2020 Hi all, we are a party of 3 sailing in two cabins (me and a friend in one and my Dad in the other cabin across the hall). My question is: if I bid on a two bedroom Grand Suite, RCI told me that we couldn't officially move Dad into our GS. I understand that. But, could we keep his cabin (not cancel) and simply allow him to sleep in our Suite. He's 89 and I like to have him nearby, especially at night. Would anyone (the Cabin Steward) know or care??? I don't mean to get sneaky, but I'd love to get the GS and still have Dad close by. Thoughts? Lynne

vickic233 Posted February 19, 2020 #4739 Share Posted February 19, 2020 Just received our Royal Up offer for our April cruise on Majesty of the Seas. We are currently in an oceanview on 4. Minimum bids are 400 for junior suite, 500pp for grand 1 bedrm, 550pp grand 2bedrm, 600pp owners suite. Im not sure we will bid due to not many perks associated with suites on this ship, along with some reviews stating the suites are below windjammer and pool area. I love the idea of being on 4, close to lattetudes, boarding area, dining room and casino. Ive tried looking for others who have recently been in suites on this ship to get opinions but nothing has really stood out as far as detailed perks . Thanks in advance for any opinions! tvlworm Posted February 19, 2020 #4740 Share Posted February 19, 2020 A number of people on my sailing who either did not receive an email invite previously or haven’t made a bid, received new Royal Bid invites in the last 24hrs. We sail in 11 days, on Harmony and I’m trying to be optimistic on my chances but they still haven’t assigned some suite guarantees their room yet! I bid as soon as I had the chance January 2nd and getting really anxious to know either way.

Can you bid on a Superior Ocean View. Those are much nicer than the regular Ocean View cabins, and should be much less than JS Edited February 20, 2020 by John&LaLa

About a year ago there was some weird pricing, (and perhaps because of the 150% single supplement) it was cheaper to book a single JS and a single interior than to book the JS for the two of us. We told the cabin attendant of the interior that we would not use the cabin, we left his gratuity in place. Then we let the JS attendant know there would be two in the cabin and added extra gratuity. No problem at all. Really no different than if two passengers hook up and use one cabin for a night or the cruise. 😀 M

Gerginator Posted February 20, 2020 #4748 Share Posted February 20, 2020 I sail this Sunday and have had a Royal Up bid in for quite some time, but suddenly I’m now getting the “30 days” error message after being able to log in as recently as yesterday. Is it typical when the sailing gets this close that it just stops letting you in?

Rare cruiselvr04 Posted February 20, 2020 #4750 Share Posted February 20, 2020 (edited) We just got our bid accepted from ocean view to balcony for next weeks sailing on Enchantment. We did bid the max at $200 pp. However total is still less then what balconies were originally going for. Let me put it this way. We originally booked an ocean view at the same total cost that we are now paying for a balcony. We had a $400 price reduction several months before final payment which we caught. Who hoo! Even more excited now! Edited February 20, 2020 by cruiselvr04
