Don’t curse us! Anyone from the Northeast and/or New England remember the April 1st blizzard several years ago?

I remember it. I also recall that we had a significant snowstorm around 15 -20 years ago on April 15th here in the Northeast. I have my own plowing business and that was about the latest snowfall that could recall. Which is why I would never book a cruise until springtime. I am getting a little braver, (or crazier), in my old age seeing as I am taking chance with the "Friends of Bella" cruise in March 2023.😲🙂😮

I’m going waaaaay back, but pretty sure I remember snow once in May.  I was either still in high school or shortly after, and I graduated in 1975. (We are also booked on that cruise)

I'm pretty sure we got flurries last year on Mothers Day. A few days later, I was driving around with the top down in the  convertible.

As a child in the late 60's or maybe 1970, I remember a snow storm on Easter forced the easter egg hunt from outdoors to indoors. I was devastated....and still didn't find all the hidden eggs. My parents & older siblings got very creative with the hiding spots. 😀

Goodness! When DH wakes up from his nap in front of the tv, he'll translate.  I just understood a few words.  I remember many, many years ago when construction first started on that Ayalon Highway.  No escaping progress.

This is a small light door compared to what he had to do to the front door a week ago.  Took it completely down and had to repair small spots of dry rot on the bottom of it (steel door, but wood corners on the bottom).  Plus he replaced the seal on the bottom.  That and paint both sides.

It has a big lead lined stained glass panel in it, making it very heavy.  Took all both of could do to wrestle with that thing!  😮

But it does look nice now and has a much better seal.  🤗

What project are we doing next??

In NY in the late 90's, schools were closed so many days one winter due to snow that schools had to remain open during Spring break. All alloted snow days were taken.  At that time ,no state aid if schools were not in session 180 days per year.

LOL....we need to replace the carpet in the bedroom and walk in closet...but we have to have that one hired out.  😉   Need to find a reputable flooring store, or if all else fails...Lowes.  At least Bucky gets his 10% military discount there.

We did finally...finally!....receive our Stressless love seat (to match the two recliners) that we ordered way back in early November.  Stepping back to take a look at the result, drats...now our dining room set doesn't match everything.  Just ordered a new set.  Never ends eh?  😮

Got my second jab this morning!!!  That was my excitement for the day

Yaaaah!  🙂  Congrats...hope you have minimal side effects.

Another couple of weeks, and you also may think about being able to crawl out of the rabbit hole.  😉

I know we are starting to stick our ears out and to dare to sniff the fresh air.  🐰

Excellent!  I know you have been wanting to go down there again for some time now.

Since our May cruises were cancelled, (absolutely no surprise there)...I was officially able to book a couple of weeks in California wine country first two weeks of May as alternative.

These rabbits are starting to move about indeed.  😉  Bring on that carrot on a stick.  😄  🥕

Took a quick trip to Niagara Falls yesterday.   It was a balmy 38 degrees and windy.   I love how they light up the falls at night.   Things that were different for us... no car line ups at the border and seeing the Maid of the Mist area with no people.   The Maid of the Mist are the boats that take folks on the river close to the falls- they run from the US and Canadian sides.   In the last picture, that area is normally packed with people.

When I was in my early teens, I had good friends that lived in Niagara Falls.   We would walk across the Rainbow Bridge to play mini golf and the walk back.  Even before Covid, kids would not be able to do that now.   If I want to drive through Ontario to get to Detroit with my kids(it’s quicker than going south around the Great Lakes), I need a notarized letter from my husband giving permission and their passports.

OK my long sarcastic post just vanished.

So to summarize

Dinner was great all home made from Lasagna, to garlic bread to salad.

One rule in house, I cook and DH cleans up and starts dishwasher.

He can trade roles any time, but in soon to be 30 years of marriage is happy I cook.

He can play with food on a BBQ grill

if you call that cooking

But has no clue on planning, prepping cooking, making sides

Dishwasher broke

Damn  crisis mode.

So what do I do.

Exit stage left and take a bubble bath,

I never knew you could make that much noise doing dishes. I mean I had to turn up the jets on in the tub upstairs (Garden tub with jets) just to drown him out.

So I told him,, no dishwasher start bringing home dinners from you favorite carryout places.

I'm not cooking.

We have enough paper plates and stuff.

So guess where we are going tomorrow.

Yup out to dinner.

Then look for a new dishwasher.

Wasn't on the plan especially since we found out we both owe taxes this year, state and federal.

Damn

I was typing my dissertation when the Niagara pictures came up.

Very pretty, nice job.

We did a fall get a way in November and stayed on the American side (But waved to Andrew Lisa and Owen), and then went gambling at Seneca casino.

We always went to Canadian side, but for us found so  much to see on American, from forts to falls, to casino.

Glad you were able to get away.

I don't know who's more obnoxious...the guests or the chef who won't cook for the clients and  wants to make it her way.

I don't think I remember such a screwed up charter in the history of the series.

My wife is from Buffalo area so we visit the area often, our first trip to Seneca I hit for 750 on a 5 dollar slot we were with friends so that paid for a great dinner for the four of us. Do prefer view from Canadian side.

Looked outside the window tonight to see the most beautiful moonrise.  Grabbed the iPhone and went out in boxers and a winter coat for 10 minutes.  Not bad for under 40F.
