Wearing a mask ruins any activity for me.  All I can think about is when I can take it off.  I absolutely hate having my nose covered by anything.  I wore one when required back in 2020 but have not had to in almost 2 years now.  I am not willing to pay to be tortured by being on a ship and unable to leave when suddenly having them be required.  I am very happy to be retired and not have had to work during this time.

I totally hate wearing masks , I am confident that they will not be needed on my cruise next month on Celebrity, I have been retired for 8 years, much younger and more successful wife has a couple of years to go .

Knew that was coming. Well, please avoid a cruise to either the far north or far south. You'd hate having to bundle your face up in multiple layers. Here in PA we live with it every winter!

Here in RI I never cover my nose or mouth in winter. And I've lived through my share of New England winters.

I have a question why is Tampa Bay starting a pitcher today at Noon that has only played 2 games all season. Is their coach saving their starters for next season because right now they are down 1-0 to Cleveland?

I didn't watch the game but 15 innings, 16 different pitchers (8 for each team) and only 11 hits combined for 1 run?

Sounds like a snorefest.

So far the teams that are favorites have been losing.I wonder if that shall continue ?

I'm on Explorer right now.  This week was the first week that masks have been completely optional for crew on this ship.

Most of the crew is maskless (at least the crew that are visible to guests, no clue about below decks).  Bartenders, bar servers, and dining room crew, I'd say probably 98% aren't masked.  Casino workers seem to be about 75% unmasked, and spa workers that I've seen out on the pool deck giving massages have all been masked (but they work for a contractor, not for Royal directly, from what I understand -- not sure if that makes a difference).

Last week was the first week that they restarted the Galley Tours.

As for winter, I have lived through 50+ Michigan winters and the only time I ever wore a scarf over my face was when I was a young child and my mother put it on me.  I might flip up the hood on my coat to cover my head, but I never cover my face.

Bringing in the closer for a 9 out save?

Interesting.  Hope the Mets score a ton of runs in the next 3 innings!

Do me a favor and go to the Schooner Bar. There should be a bartender named "Norver" Tell him Sea Dog Greg says hi and have him make you a "Baton Rouge 2.0". He will know what to do. Great guy.

I'll do that this week (I'm on for another 6/8/6 cruises)!

He may not pitch the next inning now with a 5 run lead. He might need Edwin tomorrow night for some heavy lifting.

That would be great. I think (I hope) he will remember me. We had some real good conversations in the bar. The Baton Rouge was a cocktail in the old Schooner Bar menu  It's basically Capt. Morgan spiced rum with Hennessy Cognac and pear syrup. It's really tasty.

Moving right along.  Annabel has learned to use the cat door.  It leads to a pen with a solid wooden cat tree.  Unfortunately, she has only learned the out part and has not figured out the in part.  I spent a lot of time today sticking my hand thru the door to try to show her how it works.  We are both tired now.  LOL

We thought poor dumb Bobbie was never going to figure out that the cat door to the garage worked both ways. And he would sit out there and howl. And then we learned that he was highly motivated by Greenies treats. 😃

How are things here? Crappy...just got home today from the 9-day on the Adventure out of Bayonne. Both my wife and I have covid. Total bummer of an ending to an otherwise pretty nice trip. We both know now, however, that a ship of that size is bigger than we like. Just feels too crowded at times. So many people...not enough masking.

Sorry to hear you both got covid. The last 3 - 4 cruises we have been on there have been very few people wearing a mask and elevators maxed out.

I was born and raised in Canada.  It was my home for 50 of my 56 years. I know something about winter. I have never, to my knowledge, worn a scarf.

LOL I  don't even think about putting on a hoodie until the mercury hits 45°. And much colder than that for an actual coat.  I remember skiing in -25° and buying a balaclava... I hated it and threw it away after an hour.

We were skiing at White Pass in Washington. And it was 19 degrees F. and the inside of my nose and nose hairs were freezing. I don't like it that cold! No thanks. I think we will eventually move somewhere warmer. It gets really cold even in Northern CA. in the winter.

it's been announced by Royal and reported on several thread here on CC.  It's a recent change.

Crew masks became optional in the middle of my current Ovation cruise. I’m in Music Hall right now. Three members of the activity directors staff hosting a guest competition. None wearing masks. Two bartenders and two waiters in view. All wearing masks. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Congrats on the win by the Phillies.  Next opponent is the Braves.

This should be fun.
