Thank you.  It just seems to never end, but my family gathers around and everyone helps out. We have suffered together but we have had much joy also.  I am just grateful that we are close. I appreciate your concern more than you know.

You have support here....🙂

I have only been a couple of times so it's still new to me. The food is what really draws me and I like the vibe in old town. I have seen the forts and they are cool but that is a one and done.

I always enjoy returning to Old San Juan. I think it has a nice vibe.

We love OSJ.  Amazing food...the Kan Kan Pork Chop at Raices might be in my top 5 meals ever.

We have a couple of shops that Andi goes to every time...the owners there remember her and always have the kinds of sundresses she likes.

We're looking forward to our January cruise sailing out of SJ.  We are going to fly down on an early flight the day before to have time to explore plus sail away isn't til 8 or 9 pm.

We have missed this as a port stop for various reasons at least 3 times.

We've gone out of SJ on Adventure a couple times and always wanted to rent a car and drive up into the mountains to the pork highway and gorge on roasted pork all day...but we haven't done it yet.

I need to get that on my next trip. I thought the food at Raices was incredible. I had the Mofoganzo.

Safe travels.  I hope storm Debbie doesn't impact your travels.

I think we should be clear but i honestly haven’t looked at the weather forecast at all yet.  DW has had some issues with her eye that had been recurring on and off for awhile now.  Well she comes home from work yesterday and it’s all puffy and red again.  Very painful, watering, light sensitive etc.  I suggested to see the eye doc today so we at least know how bad the tear is this time and can manage with the usual treatment.  Turns out cornea was torn & partially off already.  she needed a debridement.  Went straight from the eye doc to the specialist office and had the procedure right then and there.  Been a long long day. Mostly packed the truck and plan to drop Emma tomorrow morning and get to Nashville by early evening.  Should be about 8-9 hrs to the hotel.  Beach pics coming next week from Gulf Coast FL 30A. 😃

The San Diego zoo is truly the best zoo I have ever been to.

And , you’ve probably been only to the zoo in Balboa park and not the safari part of the zoo in Escondido 31 miles northeast . Unfortunately, the zoo doesn’t provide transportation between the two and there is no public transportation to get there. The zoo is also a horticultural garden with thousands of plants.

Jane , the last time I visited there was a walk-in aviary . However, that was a very long time , ago.

Wow, that had to be scary with her eye.  Any idea how it happened?

Happy to hear she could get to see an eye doctor then specialist immediately.  That in itself is not easy these days.

I hope she is feeling better today.

Take care and look forward to your photos😊

It’s a hereditary thing.  Eye slightly different shape combined with condition called “map-dot something something something”  lol  Basically surface of eye isn’t flat but has tiny ridges.  In allergy seasons those ridges had been tending to cause tears that would continually happen.  The procedure had been on the schedule for a consult next month but this incident required immediate attention. Good news is she had a pre scheduled vacation to heal.  Might as well heal at the beach i guess.  No ocean or pool water can get into the eye though.

Why is it always something?  Especially before traveling?  lol  😂

Perfect vacation timing.

I remember a couple years ago my hubby had a tear and they put a protective cover into his eye similar to a contact lense.  That really helped as they said the tear would have gotten larger with every blink.

Best wishes to your wife for a quick recovery and a great vacation.🍹🍹

I've barely been on CC other than to post a random picture or "like" a post here & there. I'm way behind & have missed a lot. I'll do my best to catch up next week when I'm home and will give some more thoughts & observations. I guess ive been busy which is a good thing.

@dbancroft. We have the same issue with door magnets being stolen. Also,  crude messages & drawings left on a dry erase board one of our members is using. Reported to Security who checked the cameras & quickly identified the kids. Kids confessed & recorded an apology.  In addition,  the parents were told that if it doesn't stop it would be "escalated to the next level". Not sure what that means but a big shout out Adventure of the Seas Security team. You guys rock!

Wish all those that are suffering a medical condition a speedy recovery,  especially the sick grandchildren.

I am way behind too.  Just got back from a whirlwind trip with a friend of mine to visit another friend who is in Texas.  I am exhausted between the 12 hour drive each way (I drove) and staying up way past my bedtime time each night I need a vacation to rest up from my vacation.  Lol.  Of course today and tomorrow I have to go in extra early to volunteer.  Sigh.

Oh, and I passed the break even point of the  deluxe drink package several days ago. Not sure if that's a good thing or horrible thing.🤪

The 30A area is on our radar, so I’m looking forward to your pics.

Well it’s been a frustrating week. I ended up catching Covid last weekend. Basically cold symptoms but both Linda and I got it. Feeling much better today and thought I might be negative but still tested positive and I am bummed as I wanted to attend my bi monthly retirees lunch. The weather was also great this week not being too hot so I wanted to do more regrade work around my foundation. I also missed a really good bourbon tasting led by a good friend who now works for a distillery in Louisville. Thank goodness I had the Olympics to watch to relieve my extreme boredom. No need for well wishes just glad that my symptoms are just cold related.

Made it to my daughter’s house in Cincinnati safely. Had a few rough miles thru the Debby rain in South Carolina Wednesday afternoon but otherwise non-eventful. I forgot what it’s like being in a house with a kitten. Everything is a toy, including bare feet. No matter you go or what you do, Merlin is there. You can practically hear him saying, “whatcha doin?”  Every morning is wrestle time with my daughter’s other 4 year old cat Onyxia (aka Stinky, aka The Stink). Stinky always runs out of gas first.

I've been off the thread for a bit.  Life has intruded on pleasure for a couple of months now but I'm all caught up now.

Happy birthday to @FromSea2ShiningSea Helen.

There has been very big news in the Tree_skier household...

I am going to be a great grand father...   That's right, at the ripe old age of 59 I will see the 4th generation of my lineage enter the world.

They said they were gong to wait but here we are...  Everyone is ecstatic.  I've started calling my daughter grandma. 🤣
