Oh Yogi... still living in fear.  I'm sorry.

Still living and looking forward to cruising when it is safe.  Don't be sorry for me.  Be sorry for the 400,000+ people who will never again set foot on a cruise ship.  My hope is that  fortune will smile upon you and you will also be able to cruise again.

Another reason to require 100% vaccination with no exceptions is I think the Caribbean islands might be more likely to accept ships that have the requirement. If any group on the ship is exempted  for whatever reason then the ship could possibly not be allowed entry. If this turns out to be the case then I think the cruise lines would not have many second thoughts about adopting the requirement. And the islands taking this stance could provide a safe way to get their economies opened up again.

Once again, I think vaccination requirement is going to be the key to getting cruising back to the experience that we all know without a highly restrictive environment.

Very good point.  It's not just about hanging out on the ship, it's about safely visiting the different destinations and not spreading the virus.  I've commented before, that I think they should have a vaccine as a requirement to get on a cruise ship....and we are ones that will have to wait even longer due to being in the last group for the vaccine, plus we have one child who is only turning 12 this year (so she can't get the vaccine yet).  Need to be patient and do everything to stop the spread.

Best most common sense advice I have seen thus far.   It all makes sense to me.

The Wisdom of Dr. Bonnie Henry

1. We may have to live with COVID-19 for months or years. Let's not deny it or panic. Let's not make our lives useless. Let's learn to live with this fact.

2. You can't destroy COVID-19 viruses that have penetrated cell walls, by drinking gallons of hot water you'll just go to the bathroom more often.

3. Washing hands and maintaining a two-meter physical distance is the best method for your protection.

4. If you don't have a COVID-19 patient at home, there's no need to disinfect the surfaces at your house.

5. Packaged cargo, gas pumps, shopping carts and ATMs do not cause infection. If you wash your hands, live your life as usual.

6. COVID-19 is not a food infection. It is associated with drops of infection like the 'flu. There is no demonstrated risk that COVID-19 is transmitted by food.

7. You can lose your sense of smell with a lot of allergies and viral infections. This is only a non-specific symptom of COVID-19.

8. Once at home, you don't need to change your clothes urgently and go shower! Purity is a virtue, paranoia is not!

9. The COVID-19 virus doesn't hang in the air for long. This is a respiratory droplet infection that requires close contact.

10. The air is clean, you can walk through the gardens and through parks (just keeping your physical protection distance).

11. It is sufficient to use normal soap against COVID-19, not antibacterial soap. This is a virus, not a bacteria.

12. You don't have to worry about your food orders. But you can heat it all up in the microwave, if you wish.

13. The chances of bringing COVID-19 home with your shoes is like being struck by lightning twice in a day. I've been working against viruses for 20 years — drop infections don't spread like that!

14. You can't be protected from the virus by taking vinegar, sugarcane juice and ginger! These are for immunity not a cure.

15. Wearing a mask for long periods interferes with your breathing and oxygen levels . Wear it only in crowds.

16. Wearing gloves is also a bad idea; the virus can accumulate into the glove and be easily transmitted if you touch your face. Better just to wash your hands regularly. Immunity is greatly weakened by always staying in a sterile environment. Even if you eat immune boosting foods, please go out of your house regularly to any park/beach. Immunity is increased by EXPOSURE TO PATHOGENS, not by sitting at home and consuming fried/ spicy/sugary food and aerated drinks.

Be smart and stay informed!  Live life sensibly and to the fullest.

A fake list that was debunked last July.  Don’t believe everything you read on Cruise Critic.

And I agree with you. That is why I won't be cruising until masks are a thing on the past.

Even after we "get back to normal", I'll probably wear a mask in the terminal during embarkation/disembarkation. Won't wear on on board if it's not required.

Yep, just don't know what to do with todays mask updates.  2 are better than 1 and 3 are better than 2.  Theoretically, a plastic mask is the ultimate protector; but, unfortunately, it comes with consequence of likely death by asphyxiation.  On the bright side, it won't be a Covid cruise ship outbreak or  a Covid cruise ship death.  😲

But your death certificate will say covid related. Why else would you have been wearing a mask in the first place?

Yes, but, I am a humorless maroon.  I am unfortunately stuck in the half world of reality and *****...

It seems the latter is winning most days, which makes me very sad, and sans humor... which is really just memes and bad hair days.

Which I have everyday now, as I haven’t had a hair cut since February last....  I am showing my leadership skills of not doing those things we all took for granted pre covid....  I walked in this morning after driving to work in the snow about feet from my parking spot to the office, when I realized, I didn’t put my stupid mask on as it was in the Jeep... so I turned around and got my face diaper, and walked in.... as if I saved the world.

We are so screwed....

JMHO and YMMV
