Grandma Dazzles Posted July 4, 2019 #2 Share Posted July 4, 2019 Embassy Suites on 17th is very popular with cruisers. Cocktails included each evening and excellent full breakfast buffet

klfrodo Posted July 5, 2019 #8 Share Posted July 5, 2019 (edited) There are 100’s of hotels that are booked 365 days a year. You’re going to get as many answers as there are people on these boards. Hundreds of us are cheap, hundreds are spoiled, and the just stay where the wife tells us. Edited July 5, 2019 by klfrodo 4

I've suggested many different hotels but my wife always says Embassy Suites. She doesn't like to experiment.
Zach1213 Posted July 5, 2019 #10 Share Posted July 5, 2019 Personally, I don't like staying near the port. We pick up a car at the airport when we arrive and then the entire area is our oyster...sites, dinners, etc. Allows us to stay anywhere, and then drop the car at the cruise port the next day. Usually the one-day rental is pretty cheap, and can usually be offset by a cheaper non-port area hotel. Just an idea.

Rare mom says Posted August 19, 2019 #13 Share Posted August 19, 2019 I think all the large hotel conglomerates are all well represented there. If you have loyalty points, look at staying at one of their properties. We usually use points or a free night for our pre/post cruise stays. Esmerelda Posted August 22, 2019 #16 Share Posted August 22, 2019 Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort. The beach is just across the store so the views from your room are majestic. The staff, restaurants, etc at the hotel are great. There are many restaurants in walking distance and you can get groceries as well within walking distance. It’s definitey our favorite in FLL and we have stayed many times at other hotels. The 2 hotels we would not book again would be Embassy Suites and the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina. I am silver with Hilton and those two are NOT up to Hilton standards in my opinion. Happy planning. 😊
LidoLiz Posted August 22, 2019 #17 Share Posted August 22, 2019 We like the funky mid-Century style hotels in the Central Beach area .... the Nobleton, Beach Gardens, La Casa Del Mar, etc. Loads of character, friendly proprietors, clean pools and a short stroll to the beach, CVS, and some great restaurants. With only a handful of rooms, I prefer these over the big-box hotels . . . and the walk on the beach in the early morning is lovely.
Rare vacationlover_mn Posted August 23, 2019 #18 Share Posted August 23, 2019 We love the Embassy Suites 🙂. Walking distance to lots of stuff, free happy hour and breakfast, and short uber to port
nhraformula00 Posted August 24, 2019 #19 Share Posted August 24, 2019 We have stayed at Hyatt Place 4 times, Hilton Marina 3, Renaissance 1, Four Point By Sheraton ( used to be Comfort Inn )2, Holiday Inn 1, Embassy Suites 1, Extended Stay America 1. This is the order of how we would pick to stay at if Hyatt Place is full.

Tom47 Posted September 1, 2019 #25 Share Posted September 1, 2019 (edited) Hyatt hotel on 17th street has free airport shuttle and pay cruise terminal shuttle. Also near Publix/wine store. It's our favorite. Edited September 1, 2019 by Tom47
