Royal Caribbean Cruisers -- How Are Things Where You Are? (was "Routine" 😁 day in lockdown... how was yours?)

Well, this will not be a routine day in lockdown.  We are getting packed for our 50 minute flight from FLL to Nassau. Our driver is picking us up at 1130 , and will be in plenty of time for our 340 takeoff. JetBlue says to arrive 3 hours before an international flight. Our arrival time to check-in for the ship is 530. WE booked a GTY and ended up in 6622,  nice location close to the aft elevators. Tonight we sleep on the ship.

Our last cruise was on Serenade , ending Feb 10, 2020. It was a B2B, 10 and 11 nights, so we did get 21 days in 2020.

Smooth sails and have a wonderful cruise. Hope it goes as smoothly as the previous one

The grits part I understand but shrimp, seriously? What kind of shrimp are you looking for?

Key West Pinks!!!   Have to try them to know.  😉

Think of the difference of Maine Lobster to Florida/Carib "Crawfish" type clawless critters....which are like farm raised "Tiger Shrimp"....compared to Key West Pinks.  Ask Molly...she knows!  😋

Oh you are still just a baby.  😉  You still have 10 years to go for "traditional senior citizen" status.  😄

Happy Birthday in advance!  🙂

I cannot believe I told my real age - LOL!    I usually just say early 50's but I had a good buzz on last night after our crab fest that went for a couple of hours of drinking and picking at the delicious blue claw crabs Eric and our Son Chris had steamed up.

Happy Birthday week/ weekend.  My birthday is monday the 21st.  Usually first day of summer but that is thec10th this year.  I cannot believe I will be 55.  Uggghh!!!

wow looking at my typing errors from last night I guess I was pretty buzzed from the pitcher of mojitos.    That should have said the 20th is first day of Summer!

Pictures will be greatly appreciated.... at least pictures 😉

I am so sorry I didn't take any pictures.    Eric is not a fan of food porn photos and once we got eating I didn't even think about a photo shoot.   Now I wish I had and it was a fun night.

Eric and Chris did a good job on steaming the crabs with a perfect amount of Old Bay Seasoning.    At home he usually mixes up his own version but we don't have all the jars of seasoning at this house so we went with the can of Old Bay which is just fine with me.

They had picked up 3 or 4 dozen and we had invited our neighbors to join us.    they were all gone by about 9:30 last night.

I had hoped for a little crab to be left over so I could make eggs benedict with some fresh jumbo lump crab meat on top.

Cloudy here this morning, may see the sun for a little bit this afternoon but that's fine as I have been on the beach every day since last Saturday so my skin is probably ready for a break.

Sometimes I feel his presence still here on certain threads....in the shadows...the whispers...look closely & there may be a V4 out there.....incognito, of course. 🙂    Time will tell.

Shhhh, mums the word. lol

I guess if he does resurface on here we all need to pretend he is a newbie.   maybe that is what got him thrown off again ??

Another experiment....Had leftover spaghetti and left over chili in the fridge...so last night we did "5 Way Chili".    Last time we had that was in Ohio during a flight layover.  Yumm!

Cincinnati style chili...often imitated, never duplicated.  The combination of boiling the meat and adding cinnamon makes all the difference.  For the record, I'm Team Skyline and 4-way bean.

Nothing wrong with that.  You are just bragging about your young age!!  😄 😄  Hint...I just applied for Social Security retirement funds online.  Gave my age away pretty quick as well.  😁

Sounds like you had a fun (and delicious!) time last night.  🤗

I think that's a great idea. Happy birthday, I think you are one of the very few that are younger than me. But not by much. 🙂

Maybe the HOAs forbid them? 🤣🤣

Oh...I forgot to mention....we can buy the "Red Hots"....up here as well.  Not found in Florida.

For my southern friends...the Red Hots are not spicy hot, but instead refers to the color of the hot dog skin.  Very popular up here...and really good!  Have four of them in the fridge right now waiting to meet the grill!  😉

I'm ashamed to admit as I live a mere 20 minutes from the border of New England (CT) but what is a NE style hot dog roll/bun?

I went to the the Great OZ, Knower of All Things Worth Knowing (Google) and all it did was return pictures of what I consider everyday hot dog rolls. Are there any other kind out there?

A flat pack of regular looking hot dog buns...but the sides of the ones in the middle are "raw" and do not have crust on them.  For Lobster and Crab rolls...traditional style...it makes it super easy to spread the side with butter..then put in a hot pan to toast (think grilled cheese sandwich).  Take out and fill with seafood of your choice.

Seriously...why can't they sell this style bun on the West Coast?! I love New England hotdog buns!!! | Hot dog buns recipe, Food, Hot dog recipes

Ahh, okay. Thanks! I always wondered why someone would toast the outside of the bun. I always toast the inside. Hence, I very seldom buy NE style.

So many ways to please the taste!!  😉

Typical finished product...traditional Lobster roll.  True Mainers won't eat them with Mayo.....that's for the tourists.  Butter only please!!  😉   Mmmmm....😋
