beerman2 Posted May 10, 2020 #428 Share Posted May 10, 2020 lamcruizin, Another thing to realize is most things you and I pointed out is they can shut those down for a short time to sanitize. Can't see that happening at the Buffet. The Buffet gets more foot traffic than most places on cruise ships with the biggest turnover. No more self service is likely the "only" solution.

Simple solution plate your food and wash your hands before you eat and wash your hands after participating in all of the activities above. I gave up wearing glove on trips to the supermarket since I have go to multiple stores to complete my list. I have been cleaning my hands in between stores with armor all wipes since I can't get the standard disinfectant wipes.

They have wipes to use on the carts, so I keep it with me when I’m done to wipe the hands off before the next stop. We have been locked down for eight weeks now, and it will be difficult today since I don’t think the wife will see the grandkids today for Mother’s Day. 😞. mac_tlc

They ran out of the wipes for the shopping carts 3 weeks ago. That's when I started buying Armor All wipes. They always have them in BJ's. I hope people don't catch on and create a shortage of those. Now they are limiting 1 flour and 1 sugar for each customer. It's becoming the Hunger Games.

I agree. There's so many things on a cruise ship that many people touch, all day long, over and over. The utensils in the buffet are but one of them. Rare mac_tlc Posted May 10, 2020 #434 Share Posted May 10, 2020 Maybe they can give each guest their own personal disposable serving spoon when you come in the WJ —— but only after you wash your hands. mac_tlc

I'd be more concerned about the 70's dance party in the Royal Promenade, the Quest, any night club dance party, leaving the theater after a show or any of the other 2 dozen crowd choke points around the ship. For years, I've been using a napkin when touching the serving spoon. Once I've gathered my food, I get a clean napkin when eating. Sometimes the most simple solution is the best. "HOW DARE YOU!" Please stop using common sense. We must either close the windjammer or use bionic food servers requiring millions of dollars in upgrades. Simple solutions do nothing to add to the hysteria. The only way to successfully navigate the C-virus is to maintain the highest level of hysteria possible. The maximum number of govt. bureaucrats must be involved and any resolution to the myriad of challenges must be at least 12-18 months in the future. Can you imagine the chaos if a paper towel dispenser was placed at each serving station along with a trash can so passengers could take a paper napkin, use the utensil to serve themselves food and then dispense with the paper napkin and move on to the next station. MADNESS, I SAY! What if some dropped the napkin on the floor. What if someone stumbled and slipped on the aforementioned improperly disposed of napkin. What about one armed people who could not hold a tray while reaching for a napkin. Just think about the increased carbon footprint that that alone would cause. We would decrease the apocalyptic, climate change, end of the world predictions from 12 years to 8 years. With that and the increase in methane gas production caused by bovine flatulence because meat processors can't butcher as many cattle because of the C-virus we'll all probably be dead the week after next anyways. To quote a certain globetrotting teenager "HOW DARE YOU! THE HOUSE IS ON FIRE" 1

Roger88 Posted May 10, 2020 #439 Share Posted May 10, 2020 Well its no surprise new to be honest. I hate all this mask hysteria.. as if a regular mask will help you some how. Regular mask is no more than a tool of control. If it was really about safety they would have distributed all those M3 masks or N95 (they are quite expensive).. regular masks wont help

jptoz Posted May 10, 2020 #442 Share Posted May 10, 2020 Do you think cruise lines should come up with a policy ,where they refund your money or a FCC for a cruise if you get sick on the cruise. I think a lot of people get sick and dont say anything. Thus infecting more people. Note: I have never gotten sick on a cruise, Hungover hell yeah.

Not sure how some can still deny it. Not denying they have some effect. But they do serious harm as well. Which is worse? Also, with a disease that has a chance of death of about 1%, how does anyone come to the conclusion of 22 mil dead in the US when we only have a population of about 325mil. Seems to me someone is using fuzzy math.

Seems to me someone is using fuzzy math. Thats because the person that wrote 22 mil dead maybe had fuzzy eyesight and forgot the decimal point. It should have been 2.2 million. So the math kinda works, in an extreme example.
