It's good to know that with the C&A points promo (on top of getting double points normally), there's something + for us solo cruisers and not just the - of having to pay double (200%) for regular staterooms. RCCL is turning out to be more "solo-friendly" than I first thought.

If you have cruised on RCCL before and have some points built, it's probably worth your time to see about booking RCCL by the end of this month to sail between now and the end of next year.  They have extended the double points offering for  Crown and Anchor points for cruises until 12/31/22, and solo cruisers already get double normally.

After 340 points you get to use their DP340 promo code which is basically a price control on the single supplement.  It is different depending on what other promos are going at the time of booking, but I'd make an educated guess it's $250 -$500 savings per booking.

Here's a comparison I did today:

Carnival solo ocean view, 5 nights from Long Beach to Mexico was $760.

RCCL solo ocean view, 7 nights from Fort Lauderdale to the Western Caribbean was $720 with DP340.

I'm really not seeing less expensive solo cabins elsewhere, and I'm not interested in doing an exhaustive search for them.  I checked out the online "solo experts", and they were pushing the higher priced cruise lines.

apparently they book it for you and you send your verification to them. I wish it was able to be booked online. A travel agent could probably do it for you.

The January 30, 2022 sailing of Celebrity Edge to the Western Caribbean is offering super low solo supplements in all categories. The only cabins not going for cheap are the single-occupancy Single Infinite Verandas! Those are priced at $2213, but you could book a regular Infinite Veranda as a solo for $1800. That’s somewhere around a 15% solo supplement over the ppdo prices. Even a cabin in The Retreat can be had for a really low supplement.

I cancelled my March Edge booking in a Single Infinite Veranda in favor of a Sunset Veranda (aft balcony) on the January 30 cruise. The ppdo price of the Sunset Veranda is $1564; as a solo, I’m paying $1789.

I kept monitoring this cruise and prices on some categories have dropped even more with the current 20% off sale.  The single Infinite Verandas finally dropped in price. The Sunset veranda are  sold out.

What's a port hole with veranda?

And why is it $800 more than an infinite veranda?

The port hole veranda is a traditional balcony with sliding glass doors.  They are located forward and aft on the ship.  Most have obstructed views.  Last week the infinite balcony was more  as was the Concierge class.

Anyone up for a last minute cruise to Alaska that boards this Friday, I am in a Gty. balcony and the price is right around $800, depending on various discounts (Sr., Location, etc.) Not a casino rate.

I'm interested...more details?

I surely would be, but I'm on one departing Saturday...always look for potential B2B sailings and doing it in Alaska would be the best!

Attention solo cruisers...especially Europe-based.  Prices for September/October Med cruises on NCL Epic and Getaway keep getting cheaper.  They must not be filling these ships now that we are heading into autumn soon.  Some single supplements at 0%.  Many at 50% or lower.  Real bargains to be had if you can manage booking last minute.  I'm not ready for international travel yet so I cannot take advantage...but others might be able to.  Most of the cheap cruises depart either Rome (Civit) or Barcelona.

I have a Getaway cruise out of FCO for next week on hold right now. I want to book but still trying to figure out the requirements for Italy. My second dose will be less than 14 days and even if I test negative with a antigen test 48-72hrs prior, I believe I have to quarantine 5 days?? Trying to figure this out so I can book! And confirm the flights.

Especially cheap for September 29 Epic sailing from Rome/Civitavecchia:

inside guarantee $400

balcony guarantee $501

studio $629 (choice of adding all the perks)

Note:  Additional port fees and taxes of $96.26

I just saw some ridiculously low Carnival solo rates through VIFP offers, as low as $20/nt, out of Galveston and Long Beach, and then they usually include a drinks package for around $10/day. Princess also has some 150% rates for Mexico, which were even better for me with shareholder and military OBC. If you really want to get away, the Ovation of the Seas has fares the next few weeks around $400 for a solo to Alaska.

Just booked a balcony on Crystal Symphony B2B Miami-San Juan and return, 12/4-12/18, $3028 + 630 taxes/fees, total $3658. Prices reflect a 110% single supplement and a 5% B2B discount. Includes beverages, gratuities, Internet. I'll also receive $250 OBC ($125/week.) Ship will be at 50% capacity. Ports are mostly smaller ones which I haven't visited before. I usually see $400-500/night for Crystal so I like these prices better. Will be my first cruise on Crystal after 50+ cruises on other lines, looking forward to the experience.

WOW😀.....that is a great deal for sure!!!!👍 If I wasn't already sailing during that time frame I would have jumped on it as well. I wonder if our ships will pass each other somewhere in the Caribbean. I am on Silversea from 12/2----12/17.  Hope you have a wonderful cruise🙂

I was just able to re-price a cabin on the Norwegian Gem for a sailing in December 2021 with $0 solo supplement.  That was a shock!  When I originally booked it I had to pay the same fare as 2 people in that cabin would pay, but this week when I checked fares on the same sailing & cabin type, the price for 1 person was over $1100 lower than it was a few weeks ago when I booked.

Keep checking your fares until final payment, folks! 😁

Just got $100 price drop on solo booking for RCL Jewel of Seas XB GTY.  Only $420 now has me wondering why so cheap.  I am on Nov 20, 28, Dec 4 BtBtB solo.

All the Big Ships are sailing out of Florida right now, so there's not much demand for the baby ships.

(Try not to break her, I'm getting on for the 12/12 sailing!)
