Bonnie. Thanks for the bon voyage wishes. We are back on land now. Next cruis is in Oct. ABC itinerary. It is my birthday cruise and also I will get to meet Bella's parents. John had posted that they were booked on this sailing.

Hope your teeth won't give you much pain. You did right walking out. Frightening!

Best of luck with the root canal. Will keep you in my thoughts.

When in October? We are Oct. 21st. Are you on Royal or Celebrity? We will be on Adventure with @jmh2006 @Husky1987 @Momof3gurlz and @mo&fran which should be a fantastic time.

So anyone ever have a problem with their TMJ?  Mine started to act up last Wednesday and hasn’t improved any at this point. I went to the dentist yesterday and they have referred me to a specialist.  I’m just waiting to get a call from their office.

I am able to eat, with some effort and I have no issues communicating.  That said, I can’t open my mouth further than an inch without great pain. Even putting a fork into my mouth hurts, just by the angle. Great fun, but at least I am at home and not away somewhere.

Hope you find relief.  My mom had TMJ for years and I know how frustratingly painful and uncomfortable it can be at times.

We are on Celebrity. Oct 14 . 8 night ABC.

I thought it might be Celebrity. We will be on Beyond April 1st for an 11 nighter that includes the ABC’s. Celebrity has some nice sailings to the ABC. Are you doing a review or anything?

No. I am not good at doing reviews.  I will just post some pictures and some thoughts.

If you need any info let me know and I will get it for you as best as I can. We get on the Beyond when you get off. April 12.

We really enjoyed Beyond entertainment and martini bar 😁😁😁last November. Next March we do the A & C but no B on our music charter can’t wait for Don McLean American Pie and all the other music.

I’ll make sure to leave the ship in tip top shape. The bourbon allotment however might be slightly lower.🤪

I don't trust or like dentists. My current dentist wants to do a bridge over an area that just last year said he could just replace the filling. I also go to a periodontist and asked for second opinion he siad therre is a harline crack but did not seem to thing it needed a crown right away. I just think dentists are a bunch of money grabbers.

I will never forget the time this younger man was in the office and I saw that he was missing a molar and I asked him what happened to it. He told me his dentist gave him a price to fix it and a price to extract it. The man could not afford the price to fix it so the molar was pulled. I felt so disgusted that a dentist would pull a salvageable tooth over money. This happened years ago and I remember it clearly to this day and feel just as disgusted now as I did then. I can't imagine ever tailoring a patient's medical care based on his/her ability to pay for it.

I think this happens a lot. My dentist is always trying to sell me something. “Hey would you like a fluoride treatment?” I ask “does my insurance cover that?” He says “no but it will protect your teeth.” I thought brushing and flossing protect my teeth. He has also pushed veneers so I can have white teeth. Just ridiculous.

It is not a muscle issue. It is a joint problem. Muscle relaxants will do nothing. You need anti-inflammatories.

Noted. My appointment with the specialist isn’t until next Tuesday, so hopefully that combined with exercises I found on YouTube will help relieve some of the pain I feel.

Using a mouth guard at night helped me immensely.

I don't like dentists at all.  I told my "new" dentist when we moved south only do what absolutely needs to be done and don't bug me about all the extras.   He has been pushing me to get a crown almost from the beginning.  A piece of that tooth cracked off right before the Bella cruise, I had to go in because there was a sharp edge.  He said time for that crown, I asked why.  Still fighting him on it, have thought about trying a different dentist but most here have a year plus waiting list for new patients.  Not sure which is more of a hassle.

Good for you! I wish I could trust them but every dentist I’ve been too has wanted to do work that really did not need to be done.

I had a great dentist office back in NJ, 2 brothers one of which lived on the next street over from us.  We started going to them when they did everything themselves, they had at least 6 hygienists when we moved.  They listened to their patients.  I know I have bad teeth, my mom had dentures in her 20s, my dad in his early 50s.   Being in my 60s and still having my own teeth I am happy.

I loved my dentist! I saw him for almost 50 years, and Bill saw him too, and friends. I would ask him about stuff, and he would laconically reply, "Well we could do that, or we could wait and see how it goes".

And then he retired and sold it to a new family practice. Upsell on every visit. The hygienist just about drowned me with the flusher. I walked out before the fluoride varnish or the 2-minute doctor exam. They still charged my insurance for the fluoride varnish, and we haven't been back since.

I have to find a new dentist. 😁

I have not but I do have a habit of "cracking" my jaw, much like one would "crack" their knuckles.  I was told to knock it off as it could lead to TMJ.

Oh, and I should use a night guard as well since I grind my teeth at night. So I'm told.

I love my dentist. In fact, even though I moved out of Rockland County almost 30 years ago, I still make the 1 hour drive each way to her office, probably passing 30 other dentist offices along the way.  I loved her predecessor as week. He was part of a 2 man practice. For some reason, he reminded me of Jay Leno, very personable, likable and funny but not annoyingly so.  He had a very conservative approach to his treatments - "if it ain't broke, you're not in pain so don't fix it unless you really want me to fix it for your peace of mind".  When he retired a few years ago, he and his business partner spent a year interviewing dozens of replacements until they found someone that had the "right fit."  A much younger and much prettier female version of himself. She kept his entire staff on & retained almost all of his patients even though they gave every patient the opportunity to find a new dentist.

I'm so glad the hygienist stayed on as well. I could have her clean my teeth every other week if it were an option. She's that good.

Can we see some pictures from inside the camper?

So I started to take pictures and DW asks... "what are you doing..."  me: " I'm going to post pictures of the trailer on cruise critic". DW: "Oh no you aren't, It's a mess...there's laundry to fold not the bed, the dishes have to be put away, none of the pictures are hung, blah blah blah blah..."

I'll post them but I'll have to wait until she gets organized probably by Saturday LOL.

In the meantime, here's another picture of the lake. 🙂

Sharon was having tooth pain last month.   She finally went to the dentist.   He checked it out, gave her a fluoride treatment and when she checked out she was not charged anything.   We have a good medical community.   Another advantage of living in a small town.
