I so wish Bob was still here. He was helpful and unbiased.

I must have missed something since I don't check the boards regularly. Where is Bob, why has he not been on the boards in a long time?

He quit cc about six months ago. He's enjoying his retirement in Florida

Not sure.  I would guess if it is a few years from now I would hope you would be OK.

I have seen posts eluding to cruise lines not wanting people on board for extended periods of time when they first start to sail.  Guests on and off quickly, before they get sick or make anyone sick. The idea/theory makes sense.

I think in the beginning they might put B2B sailings on restrictions.  Like many things on CC, it’s just my speculative answer.

Lol next feb, not even 1 year away and cant lift and shift because I already have 3 booked in that time frame about a year later.

While I subscribe to @Ashland's idea that people need consequences for their bad behavior else it continues unabated, it's not going to be me that executes judgment while on vacation. People do annoying things all the time. If I am on vacation, whether on cruise ships or any location, I have one simple rule I get up and go somewhere else.  I'm not going to get dropped into some kind of drama and let some thudpucker ruin my vacation over a keychain.

I always play "80's Name that tune", I never win... Maybe the winners cheated, I have no way of knowing for sure but really don't care.  The best score I've had was 18/20, the winner got 20/20.  I considered that a win for me and bought a bottle of Champer's for myself and a couple of new friends I had just met that I was sitting with.  We had a great time disparaging Madonna songs and arguing about which Journey song was better.

Vacation isn't real life.  In real life I must deal with and see people suffering the consequences of bad decisions constantly. There I must be ruthless in my judgments because there is an awesome consequence to themselves and to the innocents around them.

When I'm in the Schooner bar, with a drink in my hand, arguing about whether it was Cindi Lauper or Joan Jett, it really doesn't matter.

I took a friend on my last cruise and we did a roll call excursion in  big bus while in roatan and stopped at a store that sold liquor. Gave a bottle to the driver as a tip and passed around some kind of cinnamon red liquor shots I never heard of, but I'm not a big drinker.

People got a wee bit drunk. Soon a lady in the back of the bus was having a yelling contest with some big black dude in the front with us in the middle about when Prince started or something to do with Prince. They both considered themselves experts.

Idk why but my friend says she might never cruise again but if she does it wouldn't include a roll call excursion... idk it got her so upset. She is into her new rv.. I can ignore people shouting back and forth though or not let it upset me.

But yea... people on cruises also seem to really be into trivia and name that tune. I am terrible. And it doesnt bother me. All I cared about was I got to hold and cuddle a sloth, who cares if the people on the bus got drunk. In that case though there was no way to walk away. Back to solo cruising lol.

No one said anything, even the CD recognized what was going on. I’m sure quite a few people were aware.

Sherri🙂

We've been on B2B cruises and have gone to the Love and Marriage game show hosted by the CD. We've seen the same couple on the first leg get selected for the second leg show and win both times due to the same exact questions. Sad!

I've heard stories of CD staff getting removed from a ship for calling out cheaters.....cheaters who turned around and filed complaints to management because they felt embarrassed for getting called out.  Sad.

I was brought up to believe that was being a tattle tale which may be worse than being a cheater. Honestly, if someone's life is so pathetic that they need to cheat playing a lame cruise ship game just to win a crappy trinket or a bottle of headache water than they need it more than I do.

Of course our generation was brought up with the same "tattle tale" belief. But having that apply to a child in school vs an adult in a real life situation (regardless of the importance you personally attribute it to) isn't the same thing at all.

Sad you and many more in today's world can comfortably sit back and see a wrong being done and not feel as an adult in our society the decision to speak up isn't worth making a difference.

Well this is "sad"....I'm going to "cheat" then file a complaint about it because I felt embarrassed I was caught and jeopardize someone's job.....:classic_ohmy:

Any adult that needs to cheat at a cruise ship game is acting childish and it doesn't deserve my attention or concern during my valuable vacation time. If they are not causing dangerous harm to themselves or other individuals  then I will just ignore it.

Thanks ... I truly know where you stand on this situation now and what you think is important during your "valuable time".

I have two b2b booked.

Now I should worry about getting kicked off 2nd leg?

We have B2B sets  booked in 2021  for January, February, June, October.  RCCL was quick  to take my money for them.   We like the  B2B because we don't live  near any cruise port and have an air flight or long drive to port.  If we cant take both legs, we  most likely will cancel both a time or two.  I believe if we can B2B, we will be required to leave the ship for  most of the day.   I don't expect boarding ( general or B2B) to begin as early as it does now.   The crew will need sufficient tome to clean the ship.

We also have a B2B for late Nov/early December 2020  that I suspect will be cancelled.  They are  casino comp cruises so I can't lift and shift, or even love to a later date.

I like your thinking.

We played trivia once with a group that were frequent cruisers.  Some were  B2B2B and claimed they knew the questions  from the   weeks prior.  The group was so crazy that if you knew an answer, you had to write it down and show the group.  You couldn't say it in case  the rival group of B2B  cruisers heard an answer.  All this drama  for a pen!   I was surprised  we were allowed to join the group.    It was NOT  a fun experience, and I cant even recall if the  group won!

This is why I play in the casino with adults. The only time that I have ever played trivia is when I happened to be in the venue at the time they were playing. We played bingo on Anthem last year. It was our first time ever in 30 yrs of cruising. We just happened to be there. It was mind boggling to see that you can purchase a digital bingo card that actually plays the game for you and you don't even have to pay attention. What's the point of playing.

Have you ever thought that some suite passengers use their accomodations to look down upon those beneath them.

It can easily go both ways😉

It does go both ways. We once met some Pins who said that they always cruised in an interior cabin, the least expensive one they could get, pretty much constantly from September to April every year (during the summer they lived in an RV). They were not shy in telling us that we were wasting our money on a suite.

Let me see if I can remember this post from years ago. It went  something like this......

OP-I usually sail in a suite with a gold card. This upcoming cruise I will be in a regular balcony cabin and will not have a gold card. Will people look down on me because I don’t have a gold card?

first response  to post.   Do you look down on others because they don’t have a gold card?

of course I have no idea who made the first response but I thought it was really spot on.

I have no idea why people care about the C&A level or the cabin accommodations of others.

I like to cruise in suites because that's how I choose to spend MY money, no one else's money.  We don't drink or gamble,  and plan at least 1 year in advance so we can make payments.   It's nobody's business but yours.  Enjoy your cruise and have fun.   Our next cruise is in a crown loft suite and we are so excited!!!

You will love the crown loft, for me just that second bathroom justifies the expense [emoji23]

I agree with you, but to your last comment, I have no idea why people need to brag about their status or cabin choice.

There is a thread now about things you have won on a cruise.  One response,  “we were on a B2B in a GS and won at bingo”.  What does the B2B or GS have to do with anything.

My husband and I were mistreated in the CL lounge by a group of D+ and Pinnacles. We purchased a suite and were told by a couple members of this group that we should go to the DL. We gave no indication of our level. It is interactions like this that place bias on levels and stateroom categories.

We choose to sail in a suite and always purchase a drink package, that “free” cocktail hour in the lounge seems to bring out the aggression in people[emoji20]

I suppose just the same as I’m D+ and still haven’t got my “refund”. 😇

You can substitute many things in place of “refund”. It’s endless.

Our favorite cabin for exactly the same reason.  The people watching is very entertaining.

I actually feel sorry for the people who think their C&A status makes them superior to someone else.

The only difference between their pinnacle and our low level is that we have different vacationing preferences.  They prefer the comfort of familiarity and doing the same vacation over the years. Many people love that; going to the same cabin, beach, cruise line multiple times a year. We prefer changing it up a bit with cruises, safaris, hikes, bikes across continents, camping, lounging at beaches. We will never achieve any loyalty at any business.  It is just personal preference, not a status symbol to be flaunted. Both preferences are perfectly fine.

Most of the long time cruisers we have met have been wonderful, kind and very helpful with tips.  Unfortunately, are a few bad apples that think their cruise ship living makes them superior to others. But in every facet of life where someone looks down on someone they determine inferior, that is on them and just proves their insecurity in their own lives.
