Rare cruisemom42 Posted April 11, 2019 #8 Share Posted April 11, 2019 While Rome is my favorite city EVER, it's not ideally suited to a cruise ship stop (it's an hour from the port and you need more than 6-7 hours to see it), so.... I'll have to say Istanbul. Fantastic sights, great food, decent Archaeological Museum and easy to get around on your own. Least favorite? It would probably be a tie between Nassau and Ocho Rios
screwsmcernst Posted April 11, 2019 #9 Share Posted April 11, 2019 Favorite Ports would be St. Maarten, Aruba, and Curacao. Beautiful beaches, and very nice city-skapes. Least favorite ports would be Nassau, and Ocho Rios. "Braid your hair pretty lady!" uck! Don't care if I ever go back.

Rome is simply not a decent cruise port - you need a couple of hours each way from CV, giving you just a tantalizing taste of my favorite city - for ancient, renaissance and modern flavors - same as Florence. For a port call, San Juan, Funchal, St. Maarten all compete. Worst are Falmouth, Ocho Rios, Nassau, and Freeport.
Heidi13 Posted April 12, 2019 #14 Share Posted April 12, 2019 Favourite port is the arrival or evening departure at Sydney. Spectacular harbour. Least favourite - anywhere in the Caribbean

Love it and have been there many times as a result (both by cruise and land vacations). Followed by the ABC's and Barbados. (Obviously several favorites after Bermuda). Least favorite - Falmouth, Jamaica.

marco Posted April 12, 2019 #19 Share Posted April 12, 2019 Favorite port?......Hard to answer. We've been on many, many cruises all over the world. We do LOVE Bermuda, and have cruised there well over 20 times over the past 35 or so years, but you can't compare Bermuda with, say, Amsterdam, Venice, Santorini, or St Petersberg, All so different from each other and all hold some kind of uniqueness that can't be replicated in a different port. It's like comparing apples to oranges. Honestly, there's no port we really didn't like, but there might be a couple that if we don't go to again, that would be fine with us! I have been to Europe many times but never to Europe, therefore for me who has only cruised to Us ports,South America and Canada there is no comparison to Bermuda. paul929207 Posted April 13, 2019 #25 Share Posted April 13, 2019 My favorite is Naples. Not so much for the city itself as the access in provides to Pompeii, Herculaneum, Capri, Amalfi, Sorrento, etc.
