What was your best cruise ?

Mine was on the Cunard Ambassador.There were no shore excursions.Every passenger had the same cabin,porthole .Great food ,wonderful first class entertainment,no casino,wonderful crew ,a very relaxing cruise.

Antarctica cruise out of Buenes Aires, on the Celebrity Infinity. We also went to the Falkland Islands. We saw some fantastic scenery and lots of wildlife, it was amazing.

Baltic cruise on the Star Princess for our 30th anniversary. Wonderful ports, wonderful fellow passengers who we first met on our roll call.

Probably the Southern Caribbean on Carnival Fascination. Was it the best ship ever? No. However, I went to 8 different islands for $400. The beauty of those islands is tough to beat.

Joe, I know you are referring to when this route also had a 6th port (wasn’t it Antigua?) and I’m also adding departure port of Puerto Rico.  So what was #8?  Thanks

My first cruise.  On princess, 25 years ago, solo at 35 years old.  I ended up with the Italian first officer of the ship.  The land portion of the cruise was 8 weeks later in northern italy.  😍,

 

The relationship continued for about 1.5 years. . .

I should have been a little clearer. I included every island I touched on that cruise. Including the starting point in PR and taking a ferry to St John (one of my favorite islands)

Probably the Panama Canal aboard the NCL Pearl. I got a super good deal on a balcony cabin. And the food options were great IMO, including an excellent buffet and an outdoor eating area on the stern. Add the sense of discovery with the canal and it was hard to go wrong!! :-)

Really hard to pick the best one. each one has its own merits. We always preferred small ships. We tried the Harmony of the Seas just to see what that was like. I would say it is our pick for the best cruise out of 70 now. Totally was a new experience. But we still prefer the ones a bit smaller. The Harmony was exciting and always something to see or do. Excellent food and entertainment was tops. The best we ever saw.

My first Voyages to Antiquity cruise. It started with three pre-cruise days in Egypt, sailed through the Suez Canal, visited two ports in Syria (including an overnight in Palmyra) and one in Lebanon. Also went to a couple of ports in Turkey and ended in Cyprus. It was a new experience (small ship of 330 pax), great itinerary, and great enrichment lectures. I'm so glad I went on that particular cruise and got to see Palmyra and also Aleppo before both were nearly destroyed...

Crystal Med cruise. One of our first.  It was an employee reward cruise chartered by my employer.  Incredible shore excursions highlighted with an open air amphitheatre concert in Ephesus.  No expense was spared, on and off the ship.

It is such a shame that they have destroyed most of those historic sites.

Princess cruise from Santiago to Rio de Janeiro over Christmas and New Years.  Glaciers, penguins, parties, Santa, good weather.... everything we looked forward to came to pass!

Med cruise on Celebrity because of the awesome ports.  A close second was Around the Horn with Princess.  Beautiful scenery and ports.

I would have to say it was our first, Celebrity Mercury. This was the honeymoon we couldn't afford. But. Any trip we take with our kids is so special. They are 24 DD- 26 DS, we travel so well together.

I have so many cruises to pick from, some where special due to the itinerary, some were special because of the friends and family with us, some were special because of the experiences we had on it. I can vary so easily for different reasons.

Galapagos Islands on the Celebrity Xpedition.  We did it twice.

 

Second (third?) place was our Australia circumnavigation cruise.

Transpacific, San Diego to Auckland, on Crystal.  It was a 17 day cruise and made just one port stop (Honolulu) along the way.  And it left me in New Zealand, where I could rent a car and poke around for the next 10 days. 

 

The best trip that included a boat was in the Galapagos, but that was a 100' vessel that carried 14 people, so it wasn't really a "cruise".  It was an amazing trip, though - great location, great experiences, and great people.

I don’t know if I could really name a “best”. I would probably say my first cruise in 1980 on Sitmar Fairwind. Long before message boards, and everything was a surprise. Airfare and hotel the night before were both included in the cost. Airlines didn’t charge for bags back then, so if you could carry it, it went along. It wasn’t unusual for me to have shoes, purse, jewelry and a different outfit for everyday. It just was a totally different experience then. I have enjoyed my other cruises and going to all the new cities and countries I had only read about before.

We cruised the Galapagos on the MS Daphne, which had 16 pax as the maximum, a very specialised cruise where the boat was not the destination in any way and the cabin was only used for sleeping so there was lots of socialising.
