Do You Re-Use Lanyards From Previous Cruises or Buy New Onboard?

Just curious as I buy a new lanyard for each cruise, from the ship gift shop, kinda like a keep sake from the cruise.

I have one of the “blingy” rhinestone lanyards and reuse it. I buy a new one if the old one starts to look old or I see one I like better.

I think it's nice that you buy a new one each cruise as a souvenir of that cruise. Never occurred to me to do that, and I doubt I'll do it in the future. I always reuse mine, unless I forget to bring one.

I have a favorite lanyard that I reuse. I ordered a pack of black lanyards from Amazon for my husband and he uses them for our cruises.

I've never found a need for one on a cruise.

It's kind of interesting to pass your lanyard from a Carnival ship on a Celebrity cruise.

We repulse them. The novelty is collecting them as souvenirs has worn off.

I could be wrong, but I don't think the ship's gift shops sell lanyards that are ship specific. However, you might be able to find a company on line that makes personalized lanyards, and have one made up with the ship's name each time you cruise on a different ship. We typically use the same lanyards each time we cruise.

I reuse one of the ones that I have (cruise line dependent), only use it during the day while on the ship, otherwise the card is in my pocket.

I don't see them often on the lines we sail so I use one from a previous cruise.

Going to use my Pacific Pearl lanyard next year on CMV Columbus. Columbus was originally Pacific Pearl, so it will be like old home week. Lol

Never carry a purse or bag onboard and generally don’t have pockets so lanyards work for me, travel agents generally give you one with docs so I have quite a collection and trying to build it up.

If DW remembers hers she'll reuse it, otherwise I'll buy her a new one. I forego them completely.

Not sure why people feel the need to let us know they don't use a lanyard. Different courses for different horses; no one is making you use one.

If I was in the mood to use a lanyard, I’d take one from a previous cruise, or a previous cruise line if I had one. It’s a good conversation starter. I do it with tote bags too, as a bit of fun.
