When do you get back? I tried to look but either the next ship(s) is sold out or something. I don't see your ship again until june in alaska when I searched by ship.

Sorry about your wifi. I'd think such a new ship would be better.

We get to Vancouver Thursday.   The location effects the wifi too.  I think this is the 1st time ever reading this in the Compass.

I really enjoyed it too. I missed the first half as was driving back from London. What I saw (roughly from Williams speech) was spectacular. The lightshow and drone lights was great too.

I applied for the free ticket draw but didn't win.  Windsor Castle is only about half an hour drive from us so would of been great to of been there.

I watched the whole concert on you tube.  I was so happy that option is available.

I have a guy there that can customize the day for you, if you want to do something different.  Island tour, animal encounters, beach break, etc.

@Arzeena

We used the guy she is mentioning.   Great service.   I would use him again.

We're finally packed (1 suitcase!) for our 10 day NJ trip tomorrow.  Weather for the next 10 days is a mixed bag with temps in the 60s, 70s, and 80s.  No rain predicted. woohoo!  Whenever we visit, I wash everything the day before we leave so that when we arrive home, I can relax and not worry about laundry.  AND if I forgot anything, of course, there's always shopping!

Once we get to Vancouver, Ovation will be doing Alaska until probably around October when it will cruise back to Hawaii on it's way back to Australia.   I don't know if it's sold out for the Alaska cruises.

I think we paid a little less. Maybe $167?

Maya Key is great and it's right across the bay where the cruise ship docks.

Thanks  What about Cozumel  Ever been to Playa Mia or Chankanaab- those are the 2 that Royal offers thru their shore excursions?

Our daughter and grandson got us into watching F1.  So much so that we attended last October near Austin.  We walked miles to and from parking lots while watching helicopters fly in the rich and famous. It was a full weekend. The tracks around the world make for interesting watching.  DH and I said for the expense it’s one and done but we were happy to make it a memory with our grandson.

My brother took his son to see the F1 in Singapore.  It was one and done too but they are very glad they did it.

F1 holds no interest to me normally but I found that Netflix documentary very interesting.  I have watched the first two seasons so far.  Definitely part of the appeal is seeing the stunning locations they race at around the world.

So here is my rant of the day.

We saw the Guardians of the Galaxy 3 movie which had a PG-13 rating.  Susan and I were both a little surprised when the main character dropped an F-bomb during one scene.  Both grandsons wanted to see the movie, so we were looking for things that might not be appropriate for them.

Now I always thought that the F-bomb in a movie would automatically get it an R rating.  It just so happened that I read an article just after seeing the movie, and then can now have the F-bomb dropped three times, and still get a PG-13 rating.  Or, it can be up to nine times if the word is mumbled and not clearly enunciated.

The sad thing is, it didn’t need to be there at all. It didn’t add anything to the story line.  Then we wonder what’s wrong with some kids.

I better stop now before the rant goes on. Rant over.

Commonsense media has reviews of movies and books and informs parents of language, romance & violence.  Worth a look before your next outing with the grandkids.

@ReneeFLL

I took your advice, Don't ever give up. The first day I got a Peach Daiquiri and it was not good. It taste very bland with a touch of lime.  I tried it again at the pool bar, bad.  Sharon noticed they were pouring the mix out of a plastic bottle.   I thought no more until yesterday at the DL.  @brillohead Debbie had sent me a pic of the Sunsational Peach mix.  🍑 I asked if they are using the good mix.  They just started back using it!

We enjoyed some snacks while we were there.

When we started cruising on a regular basis 20 years ago, we did a cruise on Celebrity to the Panama Canal, and other ports in the area.  On the way back, we decided to do a TA

We liked it so much , we did a yearly west  bound crossing.  DW found some of her fellow nurses took a winter cruise, on RCCL. As a result, she has more cruise points than I do.

 We turned Pin based on her points.  And  we just booked her free cruise in October with that voucher.

 Meanwhile, I am also getting close to 700 myself, and we will get another free cruise when I hit 700.  I didn't expect  that.

  We will get on a 7day casino comp on Adventure this Saturday.

We've only done Nachi Cocum and Paradise Beach which are both non Royal. Loved Nachi Cocum. They limit the amount of guests so it is more quiet. Great place and great food. Only about a 10 minute cab ride.

I cannot imagine a video of the cars racing on a parking lot of a football stadium in Miami will qualify  as a stunning location.

I looked into getting tickets to the Miami GP.  I looked about a month ago (late) and all of the prime tickets were gone.  Tickets in some of the "lesser" grand stands were about $500 each, or you could buy tickets in prime locations second hand for $1000 and up.  Maybe we'll do it one year just for the experience but at those prices, it would likely be one and done for us also.  I need to become friends with a celebrity or a really rich person. 😁

There was a funny incident before the race where a roaming reporter for the broadcast was interviewing celebrities on the starting grid.  There was a roped off area with Roger Federer inside the ropes.  Sir Jackie Stewart, who is an 83 year old, 3 time F1 champion, racing legend, was outside the ropes.  The reporter said hi to Jackie and was trying to call Roger over to talk.  Jackie ducked under the ropes and walked right through a few security people who tried to stop him.  He just kept going and eventually convinced Roger to come over to the reporter and say a few words.  It's good to be the king!

Chankanaab is worthwhile for either relaxing on the (man-made) beach or walking around various attractions. Transport through the cruise line is in included group taxis and there were various return times when we went. (There are multiple tours including diving, snorkeling, dolphins, beach break etc) Some include buffet lunch which is OK but not the best - we prefer to purchase independently - there are several options. We have gone independently and met my daughter who was on dolphin excursion (with lunch). We also booked a package once that included the e lunch because it was on sale through the cruiseline and was cheaper since it included transport but we ended up having to cancel the cruise so didn’t do it. Lots of online reviews, blogs, videos that give good visuals.

Playa Mia is very family oriented, predominantly waterpark and water sports. It used to have a good reputation for its fun cooking class (and maybe salsa salsa?) but I think the popular chef moved onto the  culinary tours at Dolphinaris so I’m not sure how that is now.
